Customers are saying

Customers are impressed with the helmet and map included in the Fallout 76 package, with many praising the helmet's aesthetic appeal and the map's glow-in-the-dark feature. However, significant criticism targets the game's quality, citing issues such as bugs and a lack of story and non-playable characters. Concerns were also raised about the quality of the included bag, with many describing it as subpar. Overall, while some aspects are appreciated, the game's technical issues and lack of certain features are major points of contention.

Has it’s issues but still enjoying it

I currently have 106 hours playing Fallout 76. The game has bugs and Bethesda is working on fixing them. Aside from the bugs I am really enjoying this game and have played it completely solo. This game is not the typical Fallout game and plays differently it’s more of a online survival mmo hybrid except has a storyline and quests littered all over the place. Those who say it has no story clearly have not played this game. The overall map is huge with endless things to explore. If you’re looking for a complete single player typical Fallout experience You May or may not like this game. I personally am a huge Fallout fan but also a creature of habit and really enjoy grindy RPGs and crafting type games so that does affect my positive opinion towards Fallout 76. 80% of the community probably does not agree with my opinion and most diehard Fallout fans are pretty upset about this game not being Fallout 5. On to the actual physical product the Power Armor helmet is nice though the voice modulator is a bit weak and you can hear yourself over it. The bag is not canvas as described it is nylon so not as durable and feels cheap. The toy soldiers are pretty neat if your into small plastic figurines and the map is well just a map that does glow in the dark. Overall I think this should have been priced more in the $150 range than $200.

I was super hyped for this when I saw it at E3. My first collector's edition of a Fallout game. The helmet is 5 out of 5 for me, it's really cool looking and THE item that makes this edition. The "canvas" bag is a cheap nylon replacement, it sucks. The bag is a 1 out of 5. The rest of the items are good 3.5 out of 5. I waited to see the reviews for this game before I opened it. I will not be opening and playing Fallout 76 UNTIL Bethesda fixes this crap. Plenty of videos on YouTube to turn you away. For $200+, not worth it.

Product not as described, false advertising

I have no problem with the game itself but the actual product as a whole has a major problem. One of the items in the package is not as it is described in the description. At the time I ordered, at the time the product shipped, and still right now, the pictures show and the write up says it comes with a "canvas carrying case" but the case is a really poor quality nylon that just looks like it'll tear if I try to carry anything in it. If I bought the game alone I'd give it a 4. It's really fun but really buggy and desperately needs the improvements they say they're working on, but when a product's description straight out LIES about what it contains I have to give it a 1. In case the product page changes, here's what it currently says, "West Tek Canvas Carrying Bag".

So, bought this as a Christmas gift to be for my son. Where to begin. My son played the Beta on xbox and liked it. I have played the retail version for a few hours on a friend's PS4. I enjoyed that. The reviews have been brutal. I hope the technical issues will be patched. Bethesda says they are committed to this game. We will see. I am on the fence on whether to return it. My son loves Fallout. I think he will forgive Bethesda no matter how broke this game is. I am not qualified to say if the multiplayer style is the right direction to take Fallout. No human npc's is odd. I get the aesthetic but it is jarring compared to Fallout 4. I don't know if story can be delivered as effectively in this barren landscape . As it stands now, I would not buy this for myself. It's just too much of a mess and the community is not happy. This is a wait and see situation. For me though, I have to decide whether to disappoint my son by returning this and he didn't get it as a gift or give it to him and see if the game disappoints him.

This whole situation with Bethesda at the moment is a bit of a mess. The helmet itself is awesome, no question there. The bag is not what was shown but a cheap nylon version The game itself has potential, but at the moment is a bit of a train wreck. Basically Fallout 4 but with no one else except you and whomever might be online at the time. All NPC interactions (so far) are done via holotapes and notes.

The Collector's Edition is great! The helmet is well designed and looks as if it was pulled directly out of the game. I can also commend Bethesda for the poster and action figures that are included. The map/poster is very highly detailed, I have yet to frame and hang it. Unfortunately, this is where the positives begin to dwindle. The carrying bag included in the box was not canvas as originally advertised during E3. What is included instead is a thin nylon bag. Every time I touch it or use I fear that I will snag a nylon thread and ruin the bag. Very unfortunate corner to cut in the whole package. The game itself is okay. It seems to have been released many months too early. The game is still in a buggy and unreliable state two weeks after release. The game itself is fun, but it lacks the mainstays of previous Fallout games. I would recommend the game, but not at $60 and surely not as $200.

Helmet is better made than most of the collectables generally included in these collections. Nice map. Terrible game. Would have been a GREAT single player game but they left out the NPC's and bogged you down with requirements such as CONSTANTLY needing to find food, water, meds...what was an optional play style in other games. And to make matters worse frustrated PVP players find the need to grief other players that just want to do quests (most of which are poorly set up). Nothing like someone jumping in front of you while crafting or throwing grenades at you when you ignore their antics. So if it's just about the game take a pass on this. If you just want the collectables...go for it.

The game is okay. Not the best Fallout game but what I like about this one is the fact that it's online and you are able to explore alongside friends or meet new people and explore together. If you play solo then you might not like it as much due to the fact that the game has no NPCs and it will get lonely. The game mainly relies on interacting with robots, listening to holotapes, and reading notes/reading from terminals for quests and the story to this game. The game still has plenty of bugs that could ruin the experience for you. I haven't ran into a bug yet so it doesn't affect all players. The Power Armor Edition comes with a nice plastic helmet and a few other collectibles. My only disappointment was with the bag that was said to be a canvas bag when the collector's edition was first announced. Instead it came with a nylon bag so they lied about the canvas part. The game itself deserves a chance once the developers fix the bug issues and add more content to it. A fallout game in where you can explore a wasteland with a group of friends how is that not awesome?

This is not a game. It's not even an alpha build of a game. Fallout 76 is just boring. Empty world, tons of bugs, and repeated server crashes are just some of the issues I had. Playing with friends can at times be fun, but it's not a reason to justify how broken the game is. I can't recommend this game at all, even if you're a huge fan of the previous fallout games. The helmet is cool. But not worth $200. I'm extremely disappointed with the quality of this title and Bethesda will need to gain back my trust before I invest any time or money into another product they release.

If you had a chance to play beta or any other bethesda game to this point you would know that they are typically a bit buggy in the beginning. This game is no exception to that rule. The game case and figures are nice quality along with the helmet but my opinion is this is more of a 150 dollar product not a 200+ product. The helmet is packaged well and protected but the bag to store it in feels cheap. the visor vision is horrible to be honest.

Everyone may know that the game is mediocre. Playing the game itself is not really fun, unless you group up with friends, you’re not really playing with ransoms you see online nor do you see many walking around. The collectible items are cool but, I’ve learned I was supposed to get a canvas bag. The included bag is nylon and feels cheaper

I am a fallout fan but this game is extremely Buggy:(. I bought this edition because I collect gaming memorabilia but I wasn’t impressed once I opened it. Too much $ for what it is. The game’s on special now. If I would’ve picked it up at the $39.99 price, I would’ve rated it better. For now I will wait till all the bugs get worked out.

The bag shown in the pictures is not what you get. You get a much cheaper nylon bag. The map is cool and the helmet as well. Although the helmet has a very strong smell. The game itself is very boring, but I knew what to expect from the beta.

I enjoyed the game more than most it seems. I think it is basically fallout 4 with fewer NPCs and other players. Playing with friends is more fun than solo but solo is still enjoyable IMO. I love the classic fallout ambience and side stories that are just as abundant as in the other fallout games. I have not encountered any game breaking bugs myself so I cannot comment on them.

Xbox vs PC review - Same review. I loved Fallout 4 - the story, the building, the gathering, the building. What could be better than being able to play in that world with others? And I am having fun. But the building is limited, the servers are only up to 24, the lore is fun. But the story is missing. So I am having fun and wait for the eventual updates and improvements.

Fallout 76 is Fallout 4 as an MMO. If you expect more than that you will be unhappy. It has all the unnecessary stuff from Fallout 4 striped out, including the NPCs and the story. I do belive that if you were like me, and when you play a Bethesda game you immediately go off course from the story mission for all the side mission content, you might like this. I like the searching, upgrading, and the side stories. That's 100% 76. I always felt claustrophobic in Fallout 4, there was too much to do in very small areas and I always felt like I was missing something. 76 is more spread out like Skyrim was, and that feels good. Also the only thing you're really looking for is power armor, and that's all over the place. You just immerse yourself in the world and have fun exploring.

*Make sure YOU are the one that opens the package first. The helmet we received had to be one that was actually assembled well. The light is nice, the fit is snug with the adjustable screw pad inside. The voice module is terrible. The figures are really nice but the *canvas* bag is not canvas, more nylonish. Now the game, it is not as bad as people claim. I would give the game a 3 out of 5 for being able to be in the fallout universe with my friends and Father. This review mainly about the poor responsibility of who Bethesda employed to make this collectors edition. It seems from other reviews they pushed quantity over quality when collector edition's should be the latter.

I like what’s included, the figurines, the map that glows in the dark, but of course, the helmet is very nice! The only reason I would rate the 4 stars is because of the slight damage on the outside box. The whole package is well presented.
