Works Great on my Sony a7rii, Great Resolution!

Had to downsize them for best buy. But the resolution on my 42mp camera seemed great. Fairly quick to focus. Video was fine. I've tried different lenses around the same mm. Have tried the Sony 50mm 1.8, 55 1.8, Canon 50mm 1.8 and 50mm 1.4 (adapted to Sony). There is no question that the 55mm is just slightly sharper (but not by much), and faster, but I use my 85mm 1.8 mostly for portraits. I find the 50mm 2.5 is quick, small and wonderful for a carry around lens. I will throw that in my bag along with the tamron 20mm and sony 85mm and be all set in a small package.

It is a great addition to my lenses, small, and light.

Great compact lens

For amateur / home use this is a perfect pairing with thr compact full frame body. Great for taking candid photos of family and friends in the house and on the go. Fast autofocus and sharp images.

Excellent lightweight EDC lens

This 50mm lens is part of a group of lightweight G lenses perfect for everyday carry. Focus is fast, and the addition of an aperture ring is a huge plus for me.

Single tiny lens but it does a lot

I got this lens for my daily use and quite happy with it. Using Sony a7-iii camera with the lens. Great price, build quality, fast focus, sharp images. Did lots of research and if you are thinking to get 50mm for lifetime kind of thing, then this is it.

Its an all metal lens, and i love the aperture ring and programmable button on it. It is super small and light, and most importantly, the image quality will not disappoint.
