    Easy Install and Good-Tasting Water

It was very easy to install. I was done in about 35 minutes, which was a surprise to me given the fact that I avoid anything to do with plumbing. I was afraid that it would leak and that it would be too complicated but I got it right on the first try. Three days later and it is still working well. No signs of leakage. 3M Filtrete Under sink Water Filtration System promises that water tastes better and it does. I’m saying that because of a couple of times I drank unfiltered water directly from a faucet at my house. Usually, I don’t, no matter how much they say it’s safe. The fact is that besides microbes, there is chlorine and sediments that affect the taste and safety. The taste was much more palatable and I felt like I was drinking clean water. I must warn you that that I did not use a water quality test. I would like to do so but for now I am trusting my taste buds and 3M since they have a name to protect and false advertisement would not help them. My city water is usually good but I could see and taste the difference very easily. If your water source is not reliable, you may want to use a more advanced system but for me it worked well. My rating is based on my experience, circumstances and simple need. In summary, this is an easy and simple way to get filtered water directly from a faucet. It goes under your sink and nobody sees it, which is great to me since I don’t need to show if off.

I live in an apartment that has really gross hard water and it has a chlorine taste so I'm going through pitcher water filters like crazy. The instructions were easy to follow and came with everything I needed except for a couple tools but I had them lying around. The water now is amazing and I'm glad I don't have to deal with waiting for a pitcher of water to slowly pittle out.

No more water pitcher in my fridge taking up space

PROS: - Much easier to install than I thought - Filters are good for up to 6 months each - Water pressure did not change - No more need to have a filtered water pitcher taking up space in my fridge! CONS: - MAKE SURE YOUR HOME ISN'T USING COPPER/RIGID PIPES - Space may be an issue, so make sure to measure before buying Installing the filter system was much smoother than I expected. Honestly, the most challenging aspect of setting it up is working in a small space under the sink. The included instruction manual is very well written to ensure you have all the information without overwhelming you. You do need to have the flexible tubing already installed in your home for this filter system, so make sure that your home isn't using copper/rigid piping before buying. The manual states that the filters should be replaced roughly every six months, so adding a reminder in your phone will be quite helpful. The only real downside is that you have to clear out about 1/2 of whatever you store under your sink to get to the filter, but it's only twice a year. While I can't actually taste a difference, at the very least it's nice that I don't need to bother with our filtered water pitcher any longer. That alone made it worth getting this filter system!

Easier than I thought to install

For a few min I thought they had not included all the pieces I needed... Then I realized that I was just being thick and compression meant that the ring would hold the blue pipe as I tightened down the lug. I used a drill and a wrench (they recommend an adjustable) and it went in quick and easy. Just a warning, this is for cold water only, if your wanting more than just one side you might have to start looking at those whole house units. For me, this went on the bathroom sink as filtered water just tastes better and sometimes in the middle of the night it is easier to drink out of the bathroom sink than go down to the kitchen. The fact that it was easy enough for me to install who has very little experience with plumbing was definitely a key factor in my rating of this product. All the fittings are click in or compression so it was simple with no leaking. I think the only issue I have overall is the height of the filter; it is a little tall and I had to get rid of one of the organization baskets on the bottom. Also, the filter is simple to replace as well when the time comes which is recommended every 6 months or 1500 gallons.

I love this water filter! This is the perfect kind of project for the handy homeowner. This system installs under the sink and ties directly into your cold water line. Installation was a breeze. I mounted the bracket and attached the lines as the instructions outline. It took all of 15 minutes. After installation, I was excited to try my new water! I turned on the faucet and water started trickling out. I was alarmed at first, but after a minute, the water flow increased. However, it still wasn’t flowing like it was without the system. I was a little disappointed and started contemplating whether or not to take it out as the pressure was not where it needed to be. I let it run for about 5 minutes and the thing started sputtering before the pressure came alive, almost back to where it was before installing the filter and more than adequate for my tastes. Now for the taste. My water is a million times more drinkable!! No more filter pitcher in the fridge or jugs of drinking water!!! My water is now delicious!!! Can’t recommend this enough!!

This is a great filter, and very simple to install. If I would've known that an under sink filter like this was one, so easy to install, and two, so affordable, I would've installed one years ago. Installation literally took less than 10 minutes. I'm not the most handy person, and I didn't have any trouble following the instructions provided. The hardest part is maybe maneuvering around under the sink, which really isn't a fault against the filter. Once installed, aside from great tasting filtered water directly from the tap, you hardly notice it's there. I was expecting less water pressure or a delay or something. But nope, it is still instantaneous water at the same pressure I am used to. My only small criticism is that it only filters the cold water, and not the hot. I'm not sure when I would need hot filtered water, but I would like to have the option. Other than that, I really don't have a bad thing to say about this filter. Five stars, easy.

What a life saver! A little dramatic but my significant other has been on me to get a fridge with a water maker and no more. She was the ultimate test in water taste and this passed big time. Not only does this give us fresh clean crisp tasting water but it frees up fridge space because we can chick out pitcher filter. 2 prizes for the price of 1! She says now she can use ice because the ice came from the tap water and it made her pitcher filter water taste bad. Hallelujah! We are both thrilled. Installation: it’s really quite easy with basic tools. It took about 20-30 minutes. Drill/screw the filter bracket in, Turn off, unscrew the water in, connect to the filter, use the providing tubing to connect the water coming in and your done. Installation was easy, the water tastes great, more fridge room and no new fridge! Awesome. 5 more stars.

As a person who is trying to employ ‘clean’ healthy living into every aspect of my life, this product comes right on time in order to strive towards fulfilling this personal mission. I drink tap water as I rarely buy bottled water and when I do, it is only to get the liter bottles to use after consumption for refills of tap water. Suffice to say, I did not realize how much germs are in regular tap water. I understand that it goes through a filtration process, but organisms and germs still exist. After installing this unit, in which I chose to put under my kitchen sink, which is a very simple process which took about 10 minutes, I have noticed a vast difference in my water quality as it tastes better and cleaner. Suffice to say, I highly recommend this simple system that helps filtrate water immensely!

I got this to feel confident about serving drinking water from my kitchen faucet and also to improve the quality of my coffee. This filter does the job. It was pretty simple and straight-forward to install, and I like how easy it is to replace the filter. The installation instructions advise you to place the filter mount to leave some clearance to allow for replacement -- it would have been a little better if the instructions gave you a recommended measurement from the filter mount instead of from the bottom of the filter to make it a bit easier to install the mount with the filter detached. The filter did affect the water pressure coming out of the faucet -- I get about half the flow now, but it's a reasonable trade-off for the quality of water you get.

The city water where I live is lauded as being very good and, overall, it is. That said, my family has been using bottled water out of habit for years, but due to a recent relocation we're back to tap water currently. Relative to the bottled water, the tap water has varying levels of a chlorinated taste and feels like it has slightly more "substance" to it- which I attribute to sediments of some sort. Thus my eagerness to try the Filtrete Advanced Under Sink Water Filtration System 3US-PS01. Installation: took me only 20 minutes with very clear instructions and all the parts I needed. The only complications involved my own contortions required to mount it under the sink and behind the garbage disposal. I could have made it somewhat simpler with some longer tubing, but I was excited and didn't want to head out to the hardware store for supplies I didn't really need. Results: Since the filter is under the kitchen sink, I've been taste-testing the water from the kitchen vs. the bathroom all week. There's little doubt that both the chlorine taste & the slight sedimentation have been reduced with the Filtrete Advanced Under Sink Water Filtration System. My 4 vs. 5 star review relates to the water flow impact of the filter. While it is NOT a significant issue for me, the product descriptions and marketing materials clearly state that it won't impact the flow of water & that's simply not true. Again, it's not enough that I'm concerned, and it will never mean that it takes more than a few extra seconds to do most any task, but if you're going to state plainly that it won't have an impact... then it shouldn't.

Great Water Filtration at the sink

This is a cool concept. I like the option of having my kitchen sink water filtered. During installation the tubes provided were short so I have to crawl way under the counter to change the filter in the future. Otherwise I cannot taste a difference but knowing we are filtering the water is a good feeling. Less impurities the better. I hope Gen 2 will be smart enabled so I can get notifications when the filter is due for replacement. For now I just need to remember.

First it was more difficult to install, took about an hour, I am pretty handy but found parts and connections difficult to use on my refrigerator water line. Maybe because of the line size as I had to buy some adapters. In the end, the filter does its job as my refrigerator water never seem to taste better and so last way longer than the 6 month change frequency...I think I should get over a year easily.
