    It seems to work, the water tastes fresh. It does restrict flow quite a bit though.

    I needed a 6 month replacement filter and I liked the idea that Best Buy was supplying me with real Filtrete filters vs a knock off with questionable quality control. Because this sits under my sink and is not seen I wanted to make sure the filter attached tightly and that it would not leak. It was easy to remove the old one and the new one rotated into place without any leaking.

    Don't settle for off brands, big difference in taste. This literally took 30 seconds to replace, just have some rags underneath the old one as it will spit some water out.

    This seems to work. I can't confirm that it filters out lead because my before sample didn't have lead either, but it seems to filter out copper and chlorine... my before sample had trace amounts of copper and chlorine when tested, the after sample (after going through the filter) had not detected results for copper and chlorine. I think that's a good sign. Will be ordering more.

    A little more expensive than the lesser version but worth the price difference. You must run enough water through it to flush out any loose active charcoal that's part of the purification process. I have an Insignia countertop ice machine that makes clear ice and this makes sure that it does and doesn't get any scale and lime build it. I used to work on commercial ice machines and such and they all used water filters on all all of that equipment. 3M Cuno filters, The pro version of Filtrete.

    It's a great filter. Makes my drinking water from tap free from that awful overly chlorinated taste. No plastic bottles from me in the land fill.
