This is an entirely different experience from the original. And it’s in the best way possible. It’s not just your typical remake with better graphics and the same type of gameplay. Characters and plot points are flushed out more. Which makes the story flow better overall. As for the gameplay. There are tutorials on it and the material format is much better and easier to use. If you’re a fan of the original. You may actually enjoy it more and could be better.

I’m an older gamer, who played the original FF7 for countless hours. I enjoyed the remake as the graphics in the cut scenes are amazing compared to the original as well as the gameplay itself. It’s not nearly as involved as the original, and not as much strategy is needed in fights as the game is more intuitive, but that’s fine with me. I don’t have time to play for hours on end like I used to. Overall amazing graphics and story, fun update to original.

Got bored with it, The original was a long time ago but still pretty burned in. 99+ hours. Alot of the time the game says don't go here or stop doing that. It is a newest story with different missions, and looks good. Glad to have it in collection.

Honestly I have to say that this remake is a masterpiece. The graphics are beautiful, the voice acting is excellent, gameplay and mechanics are user friendly. Final Fantasy 7 Remake was well worth the wait. Already finished and definitely see myself going back to replay it for anything I might've missed and of course just for the amazing story. Thanks square enix for this artwork and thanks Best buy for the fast and friendly service on my purchase.

What a gorgeous game. Loved the classic and as a true fan I love anything that can bring the story back in any form. In this case its a little different and I LOVE IT. I did not want a word for word remake. This will add new life to the franchise as the rest of this game comes out. I am patient and can wait. Must buy for any FF fans and looks so good on a ps4 pro and PS5.

Final Fantasy 7 remake has been in development for many years and in my opinion lives up to the hype. The combat system is very clever and has this movie cinematic feel as your choosing your characters commands. The graphics engine is beautiful running on a ps4 pro and 4k set. Only thing that sucks is that we have to wait for the next installment but on the bright side square soft has promised the next installment will come much sooner.

FF7 remake is one of the best "action RPG's" to come out this year. This game has a wonderful combat system that forces you to strategically think about each combat situation. This entry is more accessible compared to its predecessor and continues to build upon many of the fantastic ideas from the original. While this entry might not be the epic mind-blowing experience the original was, it is still plenty of fun and a great time.

    A re-imagining of a classic story

This game is not a 1-to-1 remake, if that's what you were expecting, you will be disappointed. It's more of a re-imagining of the classic story from 1997. There are a few changes, but the overall structure of the plot is still there and it's even expanded upon in some aspects. By far the best part of the story is how much more development is given to the characters. I ended up falling in love with them all over again. The gameplay itself is very fun and strategic and a welcome evolution of RPG mechanics. There are still parts of the game that don't quite gel with me, like certain parts included in the story that I don't think were necessary, and the graphics, while amazing in some places, can be lackluster in others, though that may be fixed with future updates and being able to play on the PS5 in the near future.

A remake of one of my favorite Final Fantasy games of all time. I've been waiting a long time for this to finally get released since it was originally announced and it did not disappoint. Not only have the graphics and gameplay been revamped, but the story has as well so even if you're a veteran of the original there's plenty of new things to experience in the game. Can not wait for the sequel!

You can tell that a lot of love and care went into the creation of this game. The battle system is amazing, unique, and thrilling, and the game is worth playing solely because of it. If you aren't a fan of the original Final Fantasy 7, this game's story might not do much for you, but there are story moments that will make you laugh and will hit you in your feelings. The soundtrack is one of the best in years.

First things first, this game looks freaking awesome. Now with that out of the way. I love this game. After being a fan of the PS1 original, this remake is just what I needed right now. The twists and turns this remake takes are nothing short of awe inspiring. I personally love how much this games goes out of it's way to keep you guessing even though it's a remake. Would for sure recommend anyone to give this game a shot.

I'll get this out right out at the start, some people are going to love the combat system, some are going to have to let it warm up to them. My biggest complaint in the whole game is your AI party members don't do hardly anything, they will move around, guard incoming attacks and randomly use their standard attacks. It's up to you to use their abilities, which is fine in a turn based RPG but this isn't a turn based RPG anymore it's a high action, fast paced system and it feels awkward sometimes switching just to use an ability or heal. The flow feels clunky sometimes when doing this. Now that that's out of the way, let's get to the best parts of FF7 Remake... which is everything else. Seriously this is one of the best RPG's if not best games to release in forever it seems like. The attention to detail and the amount of love they put in this game is apparent from the start. They managed to find a way to draw in newcomers and FF7 vets with cool new interesting systems and manage to keep the story intact albeit with a few interesting wrinkles (don't want to ruin anything so won't say anything else.) Long story short buy this game, it will appeal to almost any gamer and has enough content to warranty the 60 dollar full asking price. I spent 49 hours on my first playthrough, after you beat the game you unlock hard mode and more challenges enough so that I'm sure I'll get over 100 hours when all is said and done. I'm not one to beat a game and play it ever again, but this game I started my hard play through immediately, yes it's that good.

I didn't think it was possible but they somehow made a great game with modern sensibilities. The new combat is active and fun. The expanded characters and story may drag at times but really help flesh out the game. It's more than just time padding. The story is as expected with a few twists though it may confuse newcomers as it gets to the end. Overall a ton of fun and an excellent re-imagining of a classic game.

I have not completed the game, but I'm on chapter 11 at this point in time. I've enjoyed my time overall with this game. That being said I do feel this game has alot of fluff than substance. Combat is solid, but things like side quests felt tack on. Alot of new areas to the game feel like it was meant to prologue or force a player to waste time than to add new fulfilling content. If you pick this game up, I would say don't worry about the side quests. You don't really get any good rewards, and that includes the experience you would get along the way. Soundtrack is good. Visuals can look great, even though I'm on a ps4 pro, I've noticed many things that did not look finished. Like the very beginning part of the game looks much more polished than mid game. And it's noticeable.

Thankfully this is able to be played on the PS5 without any issues. High recommend you pick this version up to play on PS5 while you can get it for a bit cheaper. Future PS5 games will only be PS5 compatible so got to save money where you can!

Although this game only covers about 15% of the original, it is a lengthy game (roughly 35-40 hours). The characters are more fleshed out and you really feel for them. The combat is fun and requires strategy and proper planning. The graphics and soundtrack are a stand out but not as much as the characters. There is great chemistry between the characters. Never a dull moment in this game!

I'll preface my review stating that I've never played through the original game. I've played through the second reactor a few times, but never found time to play much further into the game. The remake does just that and recreates the events of the original game (part one of three) with some minor and larger changes. In all it's what I think most have wanted from the original game in it's depth and customization. The big change is coming from a standard turn based RPG to a more modern JRPG fighting style. It works really well putting you into the action with simple button presses to use attacks, and switch to heavy attacks. But then pressing "X" slows time and lets you choose special attacks, spells, and items. I played the demo and couldn't get the hang of it at first. It literally took me about 20-30 minutes to fight the first reactor boss. Then replaying that boss in the actual game I got the hang of the attacks and it only took me like two minutes. So yes, there is a learning curve, but after that it becomes second nature. This isn't to say that bosses won't get more difficult, as they do, to the point I was nearly killed in a few missions. The game looks, sounds and plays beautifully, with exception of some really low resolution textures used for some objects like doors in the game. If you're a fan of the original, or just JRPG's this game is well worth picking up.

If your a fan and played the original then you will appreciate all the Easter eggs and all the connections tied to it. Graphics and lighting are amazing. The story stays true to the original but at the same time leaves it open to branch out to different outcomes at the end. My only complaint is that the entire story is split into multiple parts instead of one big massive game.
