Fun game that deviates from its source material a bunch, but not in a bad way. It provides fun combat with a reasonable difficulty that is complimented greatly by the story. The case came a little broken, but thats a problem all PS4 hames have.

I'm a hardcore fangirl for the FF Franchise and FF7 in general... I had low expectations for the Remake because I didn't know what to expect. Would the storyline be the same? Would it really FEEL like the characters I had come to love? I wasn't let down! The story is fantastic, the game itself has a TON of "after storyline" gameplay... Like... A ton. I'm a big fan of that, we have come to expect that from Final Fantasy and I'm happy to report that you'll get that with this Remake. I'm BEYOND excited for the next parts to come out because mannnnn I can't wait to see how this plays out! The battles took a bit to get used to but now I'm a master. Haha. If you like FF7, this is an EXCELLENT upgrade to current graphics abilities and you won't be disappointed.

Played the original and love the remake - graphics, gameplay and getting to play the same great game.

I have always been a big fan of the turn based combat style that Final Fantasy X had. So I wasn't a big fan when everything was active/live and there was no time to think. FF VII has a mixture of the active time battle (ABT), but you are able to to bring the fight to a halt while picking in the commands menu (Spells, Items, Abilities). This allows me time to think during battles & keep the fluid motion of the game itself going. You can easily get 30+ hours of game play in your first go around (You unlock a hard mode once you beat the game). The story line keeps you interested along with the amazing graphics you would expect from this game. The equipment & materia (magic) is very open & forgiving. Allowing you to play to your style of game & have the opportunity to modify what you have done in the past. I highly recommend this game for any role playing game (RPG) gamer out there.

This game has gotten a complete overhaul while sticking true to the original ! The graphics look amazing, the new combat takes a little getting used to but totally worth it.

Awesome game! Brought back all the nostalgia from the original! They changed up some things but the storyline is solid!

Played the original when it was released and WOW, the story closely follows that and gameplay was a bit to get use too vs the turn base. I’d recommend this game to everybody, if they have a language filter. I didn’t look so I’m not sure.

Probably the best final Fantasy game I ever had. I wish that they could remake Core Criss on PS5 and create a new game that follows the CG movie storyline. Game length is about 38-50hours, content is very juicy. XV royal edition and X/X2 remake are tasty as well.

Must have classic I remember playing this game on the original PlayStation when I was younger 15 years ago! Much different game play now then a RPG game from the original game but still fun to play none the less I would highly recommend it!

Bravo to Square Enix on this remake of an already classic game. Beautiful visuals coupled with an awesome battle system equals a stellar experience through the whole campaign. Bravo!

I love this videogame and I collected all FF7 since 1997.

Like many people, I never thought the day would come when I would be able to hold a masterpiece in my hands and play such a pinnacle of all games. This is my favorite game, I have not completed it and have already arrived to that conclusion. Let's hope that as I continue, the game will not change my mind. FF7 was my favorite playstation game. The music and voice acting is 2nd to none. The original ff7 had no voice acting and when I hear the voices in this game, they are exactly how I imagined it would be when I played the original! I love the battle system! It is so unique and exciting! When I first saw video of the remake happening, I hoped that the developers would take all the time in the world to make it because the original is a masterpiece and I felt so far that this game has improved on the original in many modern ways that I didn't think would be possible. I love the transition between cutscenes and gameplay and it was smooth and the graphics are stunning! What a time to live in! The developers could take all the time in the world and I wouldn't be upset. I wanted them to get it right and I was blown away! I feel like a kid again when I play it. It is very nostalgic. I hope that if anyone who has ever played this, played the original first so many years ago like I did, and they would truly appreciate a modern marvel. This is the first game that I would take small brakes while playing to play with the camera to truly appreciate the details and scenery and to stop and smell the roses. An infinity plus infinity times infinity out of 10!

FF7 is on my personal top 10 games of all time list. So I was a little skeptical that the remake would live up to the hype. Especially when I heard the original game would be split into 3 parts. I was worried it was going to be to short and not worth the $60. They did a great job adding extra bits to beef up the story and give you your money's worth. Sure, you can blow through it and skip all the side quests, not explore and beat the game in 20-30 hrs. But im taking the time to savor and enjoy this, getting all the trophies and taking in everything the game has to offer! I'm about 50% through it as of this writing at around 30 hrs and it has not disappointed one bit. Graphically, this is the game I dreamed of waaaay back in 1997, when I was a younger man and seen the 1st commercials showing those gorgeous cut scenes. I also love the new combat system making it feel more like a hack n slash, God of War type game. If that isn't your thing, the option to play classic RPG turn based is still there. Seriously, if you are a fan of the original FF7, get the game. If you just love Final Fantasy games in general, get the game. If you love great games that are well designed with great graphics, story and music, get the game. Just get the game, you won't regret it.

Music is god-tier, combat gameplay is extremely joyous, with the materia system, providing great complexity and depth. But to fully appreciate the game's combat mechanics and materia system, play it on hard mode, as you will have to utilise most aspects of upgrading and materia combinations to beat the game. The story is great, with loveable, quirky characters scattered throughout, with a great narrative twist to the story that completely transcends the game to something that is more than merely a scence-for-scence remake. The graphics are mostly stunning, with great attention to detail, that lovingly recreate characters and places from the original. And the character voice actors have also done a great job in bringing these characters to life. All-in-all, though some parts of the game, can be tedious, at times, final fantasy 7 remake is nothing short of a masterpiece. It's wonderful to play a game, I played so many years back then, that which, now can still feel so impactful, that I cannot wait for the unknown journey to continue.

I started playing this the day it released and have put many hours in. At this point, all I can say is that I am very happy with the remake. For FF7 diehards, it is a huge jump forward for the game itself and a completely different style, so that might be offputting, however, if you are ok with seeing the FF7 story fully brought to life and added upon, I highly recommend this. The combat and gameplay are much more action-oriented and fast-paced than the original which is to be expected because that is how all games are these days. The turn-based combat and strategic gameplay have been replaced with fast-paced hack and slash with well-timed special ability use. I for one am always open to new games and this one is an oldie fully redone to the point it has all the nostalgia with the feel of a new game tossed in. I love playing it and can't wait for the next chapter!!
