This review is about the First Alert - CO615 Carbon Monoxide Plug-In Alarm. Two alarms were purchased and one has been mounted. This alarm is easy to mount. There is a 'Test/Silence' button and a 'Peak Level' button on the front of the unit. By pressing the Test/Silence button, the screen lights with a blue background, four bars and a loud beeping sound, to indicate the presence of CO, in amounts ranging from 70 ppm to 400 ppm. By pressing the Peak Level button, the data in Memory is displayed, showing any CO level that the alarm had recorded while you were away from your home. Since this is a battery backup model, you should keep fresh batteries in the unit and check their voltage on a regular basis. Since a power outage can be an already frustrating experience, you will want to have the alarm on and ready to detect any CO that may be in the air.

I purchased this warning device 11 months ago. I plugged it in after reading the directions and it has been operating continually since. It is silent unless the alarm goes off - which has not happened this far. I have it in the hallway outside my bedroom on the second floor and you would never know it was there unless you saw it. I check it periodically and so far all is in order. I definitely would recommend this device.

Good but, a little pricey. First Alert - CO615 Carbon Monoxide Plug-In Alarm with Battery Backup CO615 - White. Owned the same model# this was a Replacement. The old one said 10-years this new one says only 7-years before replacing?

I'm so happy that I purchased this item for my kitchen area. About a week or two after purchase, I was using the oven and after 15-20 minutes I heard the alarm go off. When I rushed to the kitchen to inspect, the alarm gave a high reading of carbon monoxide. I called 911, turned off the oven, opened the windows, and waited outside for the fire dept.

Very easy to use and setup for the new homeowner when I sold the house.

Helps keep the house safe and works extremely well. There is nothing fancy here but it gives us peace of mind.

Had the unit up and running quite easily. Ratings were good so expected it to work. Hopefully do not need it to work and don’t plan to test it.

I think the screen should stay lighted rather just a green glow letting you know it’s on. The blue display will only show a readout if the alarm sounds. Sucks.

Easy to install and backup batteries in case power outage is a great idea. The price is kind of expensive compared to other brands that BestBuy offers. Overall I still recommend for this item it’s small nice color and works.

This is a well built carbon monoxide detector, and should keep my family safe for many years.
