I bought this for my grandson for Christmas knowing that my granddaughter would play with it too. The kids can easily connect the body segments and push the button and watch it go. I also bought both of the 3 pack add on's and some extra single directional segments. They love the lights and sounds and one of these extras plays music while the code-a-pillar is stopped. They danced to the music and would chase it when it moved. It seems sturdy and has survived a tumble into our sunk in family room. (One step) if it hits an obstacle such as a chair or wall, it stops and the kids learned that they can pick it up and change directions and hit the button again to make it finish the sequence. A big hit for the whole family and some programming logic thinking is going on too!

Excellent toy, better for older age 4-8 children as other reviewers say - But definitely for the upper end of the age range. It works great on hard floors, such as wood/vinyl/laminate. Parents will love it too! It easily entertained for an hour or so as I give my daughter different Challenge and Routes to Navigate to change a cubes. It does have Loud noises and the nice movement. My daughter is starting to understand what it does and why. We are very happy with it.

Very pleased with this toy. My son(3 years old) enjoys playing with it. I rated four stars because it is not easy for a child estimate for how long the caterpillar will run and that creates some sort of confusion at the moment to decide where to place the start and stop signs. But is a great toy to teach some basic notions of coding.

OMG my boyfriend's little brother absolutely loved this toy! He has to rearrange the pieces to get the toy to move in different directions. So even though the toy is a little loud, it's educational, and teaches cause and effect.
