I had a Fitbit Ultra for a year, and the part that clips to your shirt, eventually broke in half, so I decided to get the Fitbit Flex seeing that it's a bracelet I figured it would last longer, I LOVE IT. I forget I'm even wearing it, the size is easy to adjust, it stays charged for a few days, has the silent alarm so I don't wake my husband, and vibrates when I've made my goals throughout the day. The only down fall is that it doesn't count stairs climbed, but honestly that'ts not important to me. I love how it tracks my sleep and how I cant sync it with a free Fitbit account, or I in my case I have it synced with my SparkPeople account to count my steps and exercise. It is waterproof, but I haven't tested it only because I take off all my jewelry when I shower out of habit. No major complaints my way!

I had the first FitBit pedometer (Ultra) since it was released several years ago. I loved it. However after accidentally wearing it in the pool, it died and I had to buy a new one. I strongly considered getting the new FitBit clip pedometer but opted to get the wristband instead because it was water resistant, unlike the clip pedometer. So far I like it and enjoy competing for top daily steps among my FitBit friends. Buying different colored bands is also nice so you can switch it up a bit every now and then. Very happy with this purchase and would recommend to anybody looking to keep track of their daily steps, calories burned, and active minutes. You can also track glasses of water and food/calories which is a plus and convenient to have everything all on one website for FREE.

I thought just having a pedometer would inspire me to walk more, but the one I purchased before my FitBit lacked the social aspect. Being able to interact with friends as well as track my activity and calorie intake has motivated me on more than one occasion to walk a little farther (or a lot).
PROS: The Flex is comfortable and water-resistant, so you're less likely to take it off and forget it somewhere. The battery lasts about a week, and charges to full capacity within 4 hours, usually fewer. Being able to check your progress on your wrist is as easy as checking your watch, though it does take some arithmetic to figure out your goal in 20% increments. I have some foot problems, so I changed my daily goal to 7000 steps instead of 10,000, so if I check my progress during the day, I just have to remember that each light is 1400 steps instead of 2000.
The vibrating wrist alarm is kind of genius, and can be set for any reason, not just waking up. If you're deaf or hearing impaired, it's especially helpful.
I found the sleep tracking to be pretty much accurate. It's easy to forget to tap the monitor to sleep or wake up, but you can go back to your dashboard the next day to log your sleep hours if that happens.
Additionally, customer service for FitBit is really on point.
FitBit's compatibility with other apps and devices is a plus, too. I was already using MyFitnessPal to track my calories, and since I can integrate that info with my FitBit reports, I didn't have to make any changes. That's convenient, since I spent a lot of time creating recipes and meals that I make often and didn't want to have to enter the ingredients all over again in another program.
CONS:
I'm pretty impressed with the performance of the Flex, overall. My two biggest gripes about the Flex are the price ($100? Seriously?) and the fact that it's on your wrist but doesn't show the time. I know the Surge has recently been introduced, but that was after I got the Flex.
Like I said above, the sleep tracking function can be easily forgotten (and easily remedied).
I've read reports about people who had allergic reactions to the silicone wrist band, but that wasn't an issue for me. Same goes for the wristband failing to stay clasped.
So here's my confession: I gave my Flex to my spouse (who is deaf, and the wrist alarm does make life easier) and bought a Zip for myself. The Zip can't be worn on my wrist and doesn't have a vibrating alarm, but it does show the time, distance, steps, and calories burned. Plus a smiley, if I want it. It doesn't track my sleep, but I'm familiar with my sleep habits. All in all, things ended up better because my spouse and I are friends on FitBit.com and are motivating each other to walk more.

i love my tracker! it is easy to use, and i love all the data it collects. keeps me motivated to get my 10000 steps in every day. i also like the silent alarm to vibrate me gently awake , esp when we are traveling
and it doesnt wake my husband when i get up to do the treadmill. love that it is waterproof so i only have to take it off when it needs to be charged, and i can charge with my i-phone charger. i like the weekly reports.

I purchased one for mom and I received one for Christmas. My sister has one and we can challenge each other as well as keep in touch since we live in different states. The device is very accurate according to my treadmill! The application is easy to use and provides a lot of information needed to live a healthy lifestyle- I like the sleep tracking. The mobile apps for Apple and Android both were easy to use and intuitive. I wanted to mention that the device also tracks bicycling as well as horseback riding steps! Best Buy had the device in stock and the price was comparable to any other store- I was able to use my Rewards on my purchase.

Though the device is not mine, I will be speaking today though the impressions of the person I purchased it for: My mother.
I'll start with the con: no screen. It too bad it has only 4 tiny LED's to pass notifications and display information on to you, but that's the cost of sustainability (decent battery life) and portability (small footprint on her wrist).
Pros: Fairly accurate, long battery life, and feature rich when paired with a compatible device (in Mom's case, an HTC One M7). It does it's job of no only recording her workouts, but the nature of the device has motivated her to work out when she otherwise believes she would have not.
Overall, it is a good device.

I'm going to start by saying, overall, I'm very happy with my Fitbit. It is very easy to set up, has a great application for tracking progress, and is comfortable to wear. The battery life is excellent, so you will spend more time wearing it than charging it. The ability to monitor sleep patterns is great, too. The one not so great thing is that is sometimes logs steps you are not taking. For instance, when I drive, I noticed the Fitbit logs in steps for the time I'm in the car. I experimented a bit and came to realize that if you wear the Fitbit on the hand you use to operate the steering wheel, it interprets the motion as walking. Easy to fix - I just take it off while I drive. Other than that, it has been a great tool to help me get in more activity.

I like the size of the Flex. Once you learn what the lights mean it's easy to use. Clasp is a little difficult to secure but overall the Flex gives accurate feedback on steps and sleep patterns.

Bought this for my grandson. It tracks activity and you can enter food consumption for tracking calories. Only complaint is lack of convenience. It only displays your results for steps taken and only tells you how many stars out of five toward your daily goal. To see your actual results (daily steps, miles, etc.), you have to sync it to your computer, tablet, smartphone. You have to take the tracker out of the wrist band to charge it. I have the Fitbit Charge which has a built in tracker. It allows you to see your results on the device and charge it from the wrist band. The Charge also allows you to sync it to your phone via Bluetooth for caller ID which I don't use.

Love my Fit Bit as it keeps track of my daily steps while I work during the day. The sleep freature is pretty cool too as it allows me to see the lack of sleep I'm getting in relation to the lack of exercise on any given day. I also like that silent alarm feature it has for wake ups or reminder. My only draw back to this device is inputing foods (calories) is not as functional/user friendly as other apps out there such as MyFitnesspal but I feel this device has a more accurate calorie count as far as what goes in vs. what gets burned. I wanted the device since I work at a school and am on my feet all day and it works for what I purchased it for.

I am an active person and was interested in tracking my activity. What appealed to me about the Fitbit Flex was the sleep pattern tracking.
It took about 5-10 minutes to setup, the battery lasts about 7 days, recharging takes about 2 hours, its water proof & light weight and overall I really like it.
The online meal database with preloaded caloric values is pretty comprehensive and it is easy to add your own meals & values. I only stuck with entering my food intake for about 30 days. I eat quite a bit and frankly I just got sick of entering this info so frequently. This function does work well though.
61 days after using my first one, the rubber bracelet separated from the little clear screen. Best Buy informed me that this particular product warranty, for now anyway, could be honored in the store. The product warranty is a year so they swapped it out for a new one.
When I swapped it out, I swapped only the bracelet because I didn't want to spend the 5 minutes adding another device to my account. Shucks...Less than a week later, the actual Fitbit tracker failed. It stopped working and would not take a charge. I went back to Best Buy, and they swapped out everything under warranty. I have now had it for 34 days, no problems, yet.
For the money, even if the warranty was expired, I would probably buy another one. I like tracking everything from my distance walked, my high intensity moments, sleep patterns, projected caloric burn, etc. You get used to it and forget it is on your wrist and it becomes part of your daily routine.
I hope the problems that I had were simply manufacturer defects and I hope you can enjoy the Fitbit too.

I've had mine for a month and a half and its broken twice. The rectangle area were the lights light up, the band has broken away from it. It looks like it is just glued on. I think taking the tacker in and out the charge causes the band to pull away. Also, my tracker and charger don't work. The charger is too big, when I put the tacker in, the charger doesn't recognize it. I have to fold up a sticky note a few times and jam it in behind the tracker so it is recognized/makes contact with the ends. Everything else is great about it, comfortable, accurate, easy to use, looks better than the Up or fuel band, syncs via Bluetooth, vibrate alarm. The quality is just sooo poor it ruins it for me. Going to return again. Probably switch to the Up.

This was purchased for the Mrs. I'm assuming they have a good marketing campaign as she knew exactly what she wanted, where to get it and the price point - so there was no shopping decision or comparison to do beforehand. This little thing is simple and on target (well almost) for what she was looking for, with some nice bonus features such as the ability to set alarm reminders and "sleep mode", activated with a couple taps to the wrist, to track sleep quality (or as I later discovered, a clever way to provide proof of why we need a new bed). All of the data captured is then viewable by the fitbit application which is pretty good overall. It graphically tracks steps/activity and sleep, lets you set step goals and lets you know when you hit your target for the day.
With all that in this little device, wrapped in a cute trendy little wrist strap, this is pretty much exactly what she was looking for - until you run into the two major drawbacks (hence the 3 out 5 rating). The battery life between recharges is only 5 days, give or take, which means you need to take it off and recharge it more than once a week. That might not seem to bbe as bad as it sounds initially, until you discover that to charge it you need to take it out of the wrist strap, which has to be taken off to get to the bit part of your fit, which is a royal pain thanks to the unfriendly clasp mechanism. If this little thing ran for 30 days or so, that might not be such a royal pain... Ultimately, after a few weeks of this, you then come home for lunch to find your not-so-cheap purchase sitting on the counter no longer being used... so I guess that 3 stars might be a little generous.

I have owned a FitBit for about a year. Bought this FitBit for my wife, at her request. Does a great job at monitoring steps taken. I love the sleep tracking the most. Pretty much confirms that I fall asleep quickly and sleep like a log. My wife and I both join either weekly or weekend challenges with friends through Facebook. Its a good way to keep one another motivated. Only complaint is that the device will move into sleep mode without me always knowing. A random tap of the FitBit band or vibration from working will put into sleep mode, which throws off the daily and weekly tracking reports. Overall, we find the FitBit comfortable to wear and easy to put on. We would recommend it to anyone.

Purchased this as a gift for family member. My wife and I has used this model for about 2 years. This is a great beginning for someone wanting to track their activity. I mainly used the steps, water, and the sleep features. I have used the food tracker. This has greatly improved from when I first purchased. Battery last 3-4 days easily unless you are walking or exercising a lot. It does not take long to charge. I charge mine when I'm in the shower. At work I would charge while working on the computer. Although it states you can wear it in the shower, I would not recommend it. People I know that do have more trouble with their FB.

If you are just starting with your wearable fitness devices, then this one is one of the best. Accuracy seems alright for me and battery life is 5 days till now (I purchased the device around 2 month ago). The device does not seem to be susceptible to minor water or sweat contact. Overall, pretty good bang for the bucks for a person like me who is not a pro athlete.

When I bought this I was positive I walked 10k + steps a day, after having it tracked and realizing I was a few thousand steps shy I upped my game determined to hit 10,000 steps a day. I have noticed since having it I hardly ever am standing still. I love that its waterproof and tracks my sleep and was really surprised that the alarm function actually woke up when I used it. I am very happy that I bought this and plan to use this for a long while.
