Cool watch with a flaw

I had the burnt orange color, which I thought was very cool looking. The gps on this watch worked good and fast, HRM seemed to work well during my walks and normal use. Overall I liked this watch, but I ended up exchanging it for the Samsung Gear S3 because I had the ionic Fall off my wrist twice in one day. Where the band attached to the watch itself popped out twice for no reason. Once when I was taking off a jacket, and again when I was just moving my arms. I would still recommend the watch, just be careful not to lose it!

I love it! I wanted something that works in the water as I wanted to exercise in the pool to reduce the wear and tear on my knees and back. I also wanted something that tracks my sleep but more than just how many hours I slept. I wanted to know how much light sleep, REM sleep and deep sleep I was getting and this smartwatch does it beautifully. Battery life is great and the color screen is sharp and crisp. I highly recommend it!

Works with iOS and Android. More accurate in steps, heartrate and sleep applications than prior devices. Pricey on same level as iWatch. Stylish. Long time between charges (usually get 4 or 5 days easily). Many band options reasonable priced.

Loved my Fitbit Charge HR, then upgraded to a Charge2. Decided to stay with FitBit, and decided on the Ionic. Great Features, such as waterproof (can use it while swimming), silent alarm to wake you up and not annoy anyone else, message notifications, sleep tracking, heart monitoring, 300 Songs in case you don't have the phone nearby, etc. Really pleased. Stays charged for several days, even with all the features. Great Watch!

Had it for 3 weeks now, very reliable, good battery life, nice look. Like the music to wireless headphones feature. Weather feature comes in handy. Would like to see more Fitbit compatible apps, but I'm sure they will come in time.

Fitbit iconic Review-a great watch for road biking

I’ve had the Iconic for over 2 months now and it’s a huge improvement over the Blaze. The three main reasons I got this were gps, battery life and price. I use it for bike riding and the gps works excellent. The tracking is accurate and it even automatically pauses and restarts when I start and stop my ride. It automatically uploads into Strava as well. The battery life is excellent. I can get 4-5 days on it although using gps for a bike ride will use it up faster. You can get around 8 hours using gps which is great if you’re doing a long bike ride.
I haven’t tried downloading music on it although I may do that when I go back to the gym this fall so perhaps I can update on that feature later. I also haven’t tried they’re pay app but my Apple phone is good enough for that.
I can’t complain on price either, it went on sale for $250 and I had $25 in best buy points so a pretty good deal all around.
I like the magnetic attached charger, connects easily and works well, much better than the blaze where you had to pull your watch out of the band and put it in a charging case.
The only thing I’d deduct a 1/2 point for ( if I could do that) is the band. They can be a little tricky to attach. Would have liked to see something magnetic instead of the pins. I bought a stainless steel band on Amazon for $18 from etekcity that’s sharp.
I like the Fitbit app. Everything you need is all in one place (workouts, sleep, steps, weight, etc.). This is my 3rd Fitbit (charge HR and Blaze) and all of them have worked well with the app.
As far as looks I think it’s fine. It’s definitely better than the blaze but not as sharp as an Apple Watch perhaps (and not as expensive).
So I don’t use all of the app integration stuff that you get on other smart watches but that’s not what I bought it for. I just wanted a good sports watch, and sleep tracker that gets great battery life and I feel like I got that with the Fitbit Iconic.
If you get it on sale like I did it’s definitely worth the price.

So I've been using this Fitbit for a little over a month. Purchased on a whim during the Christmas shopping season. I've had Fitbits before but this is a more "advanced" model. As a fitness tracker I've enjoyed it a lot. Pretty decent on the GPS during runs, heart rate monitoring is actually much more accurate than i expected. It's fairly small on the wrist, display is excellent and bright. Looking forward to seeing what it's like when I use my road bike in the Spring.
Presently I use it for outdoor runs (gps), treadmill, Spin, weight lifting and average outdoor walks. Running GPS is good, although there aren't as many good stats as when I used to run with a Garmin. Walking GPS is kind of garbage. I would walk the exact same route that I ran a few days before but somehow get more miles? Makes no sense. Indoor use is fine. More of a heart rate monitor than anything.
Smartphone functions are mostly ok. I like getting the notifications, but they're not a prominent feature. However, it's kind of what I was looking for. I don't need a Dick Tracy watch. Just let me know when I'm getting a call, text or have an upcoming meeting. If that's all you need, this is perfect. A little more interaction available though would be appreciated.
Sleep tracking is excellent. Lots of good stats there. And it helps push you to goals. You want to get 10,000 steps, or x amount of minutes working out, or even challenges against friends. That one is lots of fun as you'll find yourself working a little harder to beat a friend.
Overall, I am enthused. Had an apple watch, but just didn't enjoy the experience. I've had a Garmin 230 and it was excellent but didn't last as long as I wish it had. Loved my MS Band, but battery life was pretty bad when using on long rides/run with GPS tracking. Otherwise excellent smart features. Pebble was fun but just as a watch, no fitness features. Battery life is about 4 days or so depending on what i use it for. Kind of with it would allow me to control music on my phone. Pause, advance, stop. Would make it a better tool during workouts.
My only real con is the alarm. Wish i could make it smarter, change the intensity...something. The thing blasts (shakes) me awake and I'd like to have something a little gentler and non-invigorating at 4 in the morning :-)

This fitbit is everything that it is advertized to do. Love that the battery life is 4 days which allows to me to go on short trips with out a charger. The only bad thing I can say is the heart rate is not very accurate.

I absolutely love the Fitbit Ionic. I love that it is a fitness watch that does “smart” things and not a smart watch that tries to do fitness! The battery is also excellent and I love that I can customize the screen.

This is my first fitness tracker. Overall, I really like the Ionic, and I'm glad I bought it and I would recommend it to my friends. I am using it with an Android phone. It also has a Windows app that connects as well.
Pros:
* Looks good
* Easy to read display
* Battery lasts a long time
* Nice features and good phone/pc integration
* Customizable face and apps
* Integrates with other apps and devices, ex. my scale, gym equipment, food trackers
* Bands are easy to change
* Waterproof so you don't have to worry about getting it wet
Cons:
* No smart alarm - this is a big one for me
* Pretty steep learning curve to get it fully integrated correctly with phone, and other apps
* Had to buy another band because I was right on between the small and large size
* I always have to click the band off to charge it, magnet disconnects easily
* Loading music is really difficult and has a terrible interface
* Fitbit Coach is lacking - not well integrated with device and not easy to find workouts

I upgraded to this model from a Blaze. Love the way this looks. Has a more refined and modern look. Evaluated against Apple Watch, but wanted the longer battery life of the Fitbit. Enjoying this a lot.

I know this device is new and I am hoping they update this quite a bit. The hardware is nice, great looking screen, very comfortable and has tons of fitness sensors and features.
I bought this with the excitement of getting a smartwatch that does fitness really well. I would have to say as of now and the limited apps, it is a stretch to call this a smartwatch. In terms of the smartwatch features it is not much more than the Blaze is with the exception of the Fitbit pay and music, which are two things I wouldn't use a lot.
I was hoping the notifications would be better with the ability to respond and also see the entire message which you can do with a Samsung watch.
The screen wake is very slow to respond, either requiring quite a firm tap on the screen or a vigorous rotation of the wrist.
Touch screen is slow, not sure if this is related to the touch screen or the processor. Sometimes it seems responsive but other times it is not which makes me think the processor is doing something else and doesn't respond quickly.
If you open one of the apps it would be nice to just swipe the touch screen to the side to get back to the menu but you have to hit a button to exit, seems like if you have a touchscreen you should be able to get back to main screen by some swipe on touch screen or hitting the button.
In conclusion I am hoping Fitbit gets more apps and updates the firmware to make this more of a smartwatch, but as of now I am disappointed and probably returning it. If you are an iPhone user then it is a no-brainer to get an Apple watch instead of this, if you are Android I would recommend a Samsung Gear S3 or wait for the Gear Sport, or look into the Garmin devices.

It fits comfortably and isn't as big & bulky as some of the other ones that have Glonass.
The battery life is decent, up to a week if you're not using the GPS constantly.
It records sleeping astonishingly well and it does a great job of reminding me to get up and move around a bit every hour as well as letting me know its time to get ready for bed.
It looks sporty but stylish and does an ok job for recording mileage on my bike rides.
My only complaint is that it seems to count steps while im driving , for example.. and the amount of calories it suggests i am burning is WAY off.
I think for a fitness watch , this is a big deal. I know with my BMR and level of activity, i shouldnt be burning more than 1900 calories on a sedentary day when i don't exercise but sometimes it shows 2500 - 3000.
This is simply not accurate and its something they need to work on big time.

I have had the Fitbit Ionic for several months now, and it is safe to say "I love this watch" for many reasons. Coming from a Samsung gear fit 2 this model offers great functionality between a smartwatch and fitness tracker.
The watch itself has a nice bright screen for easy viewing in direct sunlight.
Smart notifications making keeping up with conversations on my phone a breeze, and also keeps me informed when I receive phone calls.
The sleep tracking works very well, and Fitbit offers a great interface with their on phone and on watch application.
Heart rate tracking seems pretty accurate when doing physical activities, and tracking active time is also usually spot on.
I use the GPS when biking, and have never once lost a signal, also works great when using Golf GPS apps.
I would definitely recommend this product for the average user who wants to track steps and heart rate or the avid fitness enthusiast.

I love this watch so much. I was worried it would look big and bulky on my small wrist, but surprisingly it doesn't. I love the built in GPS and the the different watch faces. I haven't gone swimming with it yet, so i'm not sure if its water resistant capabilities are true. The only reason I gave 4 stars and not 5 is the music transferring didn't work well with my itunes, and the pandora app wasn't quite what I was expecting. Overall though it's a great fitness watch, and if you have had any fitbit watch previously you will most likely like this one.
