This was my first "smart watch" and so far I have been pretty happy with it. It isn't on par with the Apple Watch or anything but it does what I need it to do, mainly helping to keep track of how much exercise I get every day. It has a step counter, a heart monitor, it tracks how many flights of stairs you have climbed, how many calories you burn (although I suspect it doesn't do this specific thing very well) and more. I am pretty happy with it as I just wanted to get it for exercise purposes. If you want something that does a bit more though then you might want to get the Apple Watch.

Love this FitBit! Easy to use, easy to understand. Clear screen. Easy to use buttons. Swipe screen to scroll through daily steps, heart rate, stairs climbed, miles walked, and calories burned. With certain wrist movements, screen illuminates. Notifications can be sent from phone. Timer and alarms are easy to set up and use regularly. Paired with the app this is the best tracker available!

Pros: It tracks sleep patterns, which is a major reason I bought it. It is also more accurate on floors ascended. Cons: Battery life; large watch band is too small, needs another size or extension; watch face needs to illuminate more.

This is a very good fitness tracker with smartwatch capabilities. Whether you are a fitness freak or a business person, this device is the best fitness tracker and smartwatch combo out there. I rated it 4 stars only because of the small monochrome screen that makes it hard for older people like me to read the content. I highly recommend this product.

Shortly, once I return the Surge yet again.. I'll be on my 3rd one in less than two years. It is not abused, I actually learned after cracking the screen on the first one somehow that it's a bit fragile. The battery life starts off at about a week, with just notification use and tracking steps. After a month, the battery went down to 3 days. No heavy use.. just text/call notifications (not even reading them on the device) and counting steps and now once every 2-3 days it's back on the charger, which is designed just as poorly as the band. The charger no longer holds into the device and when the watch vibrates will literally vibrate itself off the charger. The band.. oh where do I start.. it is now held together by duct tape. It begins to fall apart and crack where the device is screwed to the band. It is a known problem and all over the fitbit forums, with little to no input from fitbit, with the exception of a 'discount' if it's out of warranty. Fitbit does not offer a replacement band, and if it wasn't for the diminished battery life AND the band, I'd simply replace the band from a third party. If I hadn't purchased the extended warranty through geek squad I would have abandoned Fitbit long ago. As it stands I'll be replacing this one, and hopefully with a garmin if I can convince the folks at bestbuy that I'm done with fitbit.

This watch is great, it is water proof, it has a great integrated gps system, and the battery last me for about 5 days.

My Fit Bit Surge is helping me track my fitness goals. It helps you watch your calories so I can become more aware of the calories I am I taking in. It also tracks my exercise, heart rate, and sleep activity. This is a great tool for any one with heart trouble and sleep apnea.

I was looking at the Apple Watch and the Surge. Although there were features I liked about the Apple Watch, it was more than what I needed. This device, the Surge, gives me the feedback I wanted plus more. It is nice to see who is calling or who is texting. This surge is perfect for the person that doesn't want to spend the money on something they won't use, this one, you will.

This device has helped to understand my heart rate while performing different kinds of activities. Having had triple by-pass several years ago understanding my capacity is making the quality of my life better. We have had earlier fitbit models but this one is exceptional.

The Surge has made it fun to monitor my activity and rest. It also helps track my calorie intake which has helped me understand the impact of the not so casual snacking. This is a great tool for tracking activity and the GPS makes exercise memorable.

Love my fitbit, find that its even better when you pair up with friends and try to out do each other as well that it keeps you motivated. I recommend this for the one that wants to get in gear.

Not very durable. Band breaks, it fails to charge, and not enter changeable. Must purchase warranty!!! Excellent warranty that comes with this product.

Really like the fitbit surge. I've had it for a couple of months now and I wear it all the time. It looks better than I anticipated, It seems to be accurate with HR, steps, floors etc, but maybe a little room to improve the calories burned algoritm. The GPS is useful too. its great to run without carrying a phone.To reiterate, I really like it. Don't take the following criticisms too heavily, because I am glad I bought the surge. However there are some things I'd change: 1 Make the watch waterproof, so it can be worn in swimming activities. 2 the alarm needs to last longer, and it should automatically set the snooze alarm if it doesn't get shut off,. There are several times where it doesn't wake me up in the 8 seconds or so it buzzes, and then gets stuck in a snooze or exit prompt, until I wake up an hour later, 3 the calorie counting software could be much better. The watch might overestimate the calories burned (however, I am 6-4, 260 lbs and in decent shape, so 4000 calories might not be that off), or it needs more detailed food data like macros to accuratelty calculate weight gain/loss. my fitness pal is much better, and its supposed to be able to link between the fitbit app, but mine doesn't for some reason. Also I sent a whole bunch of barcodes in to the fitbit app, sometimes several times, to make it easier to track calories consumed, but I don't think they ever update their database.

This FitBit can be used by serious training athletes with all the bells and whistles ( including GPS), as well as individuals trying to live a more health conscience life. The device itself is a little bulky on the wrist and cannot be submerged under water, this was my reason for giving it 4 stars, however the overall product is fantastic. It's accuracy is in par with other devices using cardio straps, and the app is user friendly and truly an encouraging tool for fitness. This device introduces you to a community of fitness, which helps keep you motivated. This FitBit is an easy to read watch, keeps you informed of any incoming texts and calls which is synced up to your phone, monitors your heart beats and lets you know where you are against your goals for that day. I love the sleep monitoring function which is very accurate and a reminder that everyone needs a good nights rest. This FitBit also wakes you up with a gentle alarm vibration and helps remind you to get up throughout the day. If you are looking for a fitness device that is versatile, accurate and user friendly, this is the right device for you.
