Customers are saying

Customers admire the Zip Wireless Activity Tracker's ease of use, small size, and accurate step tracking capabilities. Many appreciate its motivational features and find it reasonably priced. However, some users point to inconsistent battery life and a display that can be difficult to read as drawbacks. The limited feature set compared to more expensive models is also a recurring concern.

This product is easy to set up. It is nice and small which is nice. So far it is operetta accurate and sure keeps me from sitting. What better way to keep walking knowing you are accountable. You can also add friends if that is something you want to do. It is a great tool to help if you need to lose weight since it can also track foods and water. It goes everywhere I do. Try it you will love it.

Bought 2 2-packs for Christmas gifts. They are so tiny, but were easy to put together, and easy to sinc up with our iPhones. The clip stays put, also you can also put it in a deep pocket. I have had no problems in 4 weeks. The faces on the zip are funny, and it sends texts to your phone to encourage you to keep moving. The price seemed a little high for keeping track of steps, calories burned, distance walked, and the time. But for someone who is trying to get in shape, zips are a fun accessory!

Very Easy Way to Track Your Mileage

I used to have a FitBit 1 but lost it while traveling so I tried the Zip as a replacement. It is less expensive than the FitBit1 but it also does not keep track of elevation that you've climbed. However I like that you don't have to recharge the battery, and also the waterproof feature. I don't worry about wearing it when it is raining. One thing I find annoying is that you have to wait for the device's schedule, rather than your schedule, to see mileage, steps, calories, etc. It is annoying when a friend asks how far we've hiked, and you have to wait a few minutes before being able to answer, whereas with the Fitbit 1, you could answer right away.

This Fitbit seems to take a very accurate count of my steps. It ignores little shuffling movements, which I find helpful. After all, I'm not trying to cheat myself into thinking I'm getting more exercise than I am. Wearing the Fitbit attached to my waistband, pocket, or bra seems to make no difference in its calculation efficiency. Wearing this device motivates me to walk a lot more than I normally do (used to!). I find myself parking at the farthest spot in a parking lot or walking the two dogs separately just to log more steps. I've been using it for 6 weeks now, and my activity level has risen considerably. Great investment in my health!

    Good solid activity tracker

Every review, everything I've read about the Zip is accurate. It works well and gives you a basic level of activity for the day. Since I have a bum leg from a car accident, my stride is a bit shorter than what Fitbit thinks it should be. So, as soon as I purchased the Zip I set it to the actual length of my average stride. I've read numerous reviews where the people say they've lost their device. I guess if you aren't using the neoprene case (which has a belt clip on it), I can see you may lose it. But the clip on that case is very tight, in fact I have a bit of a time getting it clipped to my pocket. As a precaution I clip it on my pocket with the Zip on the inside, but I can't imagine this thing coming off a belt, waistband, etc. The only reason I've rated this at 4 stars instead of 5 is the difficulty syncing the Zip. If I navigate my laptop to the Fitbit dashboard, the Zip syncs very quickly, without having to 'wake' the device. The app for iPhone/iPad seems to sync fairly fast, however it prompts you to tap the Zip to wake it up, and once you do that it syncs within a few seconds. The first app I installed was for the Android, and that app doesn't prompt you to 'wake' the Zip. In fact, you wouldn't expect you would have to 'wake' the unit since it's bluetooth connection is always on and the manual tells you it automatically syncs whenever it's within close range to a device you have setup to sync with the Zip. And even after tapping the Zip to wake it, the Android app takes a long time to sync, many times reporting it can't find your device. OK, so I realize I've reduced my rating of this device because of a third party app, but it seems that bluetooth syncing has been an issue with many users. So if you're syncing only with an Android device, expect it to be slow compared to what we've come to expect from devices. If you're using an Apple device or syncing via the online dashboard you will likely experience very satisfactory response.

I bought this for my girlfriend and it works great, keeps tracks of steps and is easy to use and the fitbit app is excellent. Unfortunately less than 2 months after getting it the battery has run out, replacing it is easy and we bought a bunch in bulk so it's not too expensive. But considering it was advertised as 6months of battery it is a bit disappointing. Hoping it's a one time thing and this battery lasts much longer.

Well, my friends have talked me into keeping a fitbit on me to track my daily walking/activity. Well, first thing you will notice is that this thing will hurt your feelings. Everyone says a normal active person should be taking 10,000 steps a day - well after a day with just 2000 steps - you realized it is either going to become your new best friend or a specter that will haunt your days. I decided to befriend the little demon and now I am getting over 10000 steps a day on average. Side effects include weight loss, better sleep and more energy. Also, when you convince your other friends to get one and start using the fitbit app on your smartphone - it becomes a tool for taunting and bragging to all the other people you know who think 2000 steps a day is a lot! The device itself is extremely simple and easy to use. The Android app can be at times. You use your smartphone bluetooth connection to sync/track your steps - creating a daily activity log. With this app you also can make friends (social media aspect and bragging tools!) along with setting challenges and completing goals. It is all about fortune and glory - so get one and get walking! PS: I washed mine by accident once - still works fine - so it is really sturdy!

Small and easy to conceal. This is the basic model, but it does all that is needed for a great price. Accurately tracks steps, calories, and distance. Clips right to your clothes instead of having the irritating rubber around your wrist. Syncs to app easily.

This is a replacement for a wrist fitbit that got lost on an airplane. Upsides: No recharging, doesn't get in the way, can leave it clipped to my belt, cheaper than the wrist fitbit. Downside- It needs to be moved if you change to exercise/jog etc. No real way to track sleep. It sometimes gets it sync messed up and required a reinstallation the iphone software. For me this has been perfect.

The FitBit Zip performs as well as advertised. It was easy to set-up, it's easy to use and provides an excellent vehicle for tracking daily steps as well as other activities. Once activated you pretty much forget you're wearing it. Synching the device to the FitBit program is also a breeze. My wife and I each have one and we chose to synch using our laptop. You can also use your smart phone.

I have been using a Fitbit through my company's wellness program for a year and a half now. The products are easy to use and do a good job at quantifying your daily steps/mileage/calories. It was this ease of use, as well as seeing how much it helped motivate some of my coworkers that led me to buy this two pack as a Christmas gift for my in-laws.

I clip this to my clothing during the daytime and my nightgown in the evening and every step counts. Simple, straightforward counter with additional readings like calories burned, time, and distance traveled gives you options with which to track your progress. Long lasting battery, online sync, clean design, small size, easy to use, and great results!

The FitBit Zip in an affordable, reliable activity monitor for those that don't need many of the fancy functions of the expensive monitors. Unlike some of the wristband monitors, it can sense arm and leg activity, even if you are on a treadmill and are holding on! That was a big issue for me with my previous monitor - I could do an hour of walking and it wouldn't count ANY steps unless I attached it to my sneaker. I love my FitBit Zip'

I was looking for a pedometer - not a sleep tracker, calorie counter, or motivator. I just wanted something to count my steps accurately. This devise is small, unobtrusive, and very accurate. It uploads automatically, gives me options on what to display, and has been rugged and dependable. I am extremely happy with this purchase.

Sort of like a pedometer "plus". Does a great job of counting steps and showing calories burned. I still can't figure out how it computes the distance though, it doesn't ask any questions about stride length during the setup. It works great though and syncs great with both the Fitbit app which then syncs flawlessly with the My Fitness Pal app. Would recommend to anyone looking to track some basic fitness data.

I bought this to track my steps and not the wristband because where I work doesn't allow you to wear anything on your wrists. This was a good alternative. The only problem I really had with it was forgetting I was wearing it so some days I would tracks my steps and other days I wouldn't because it'd still be on a previous outfit but it's pretty small and handy and accurate as well.

This item combined with your data downloaded at fitbit.com gives you a sense of competition that your run of the mill pedometer will not. I actually feel guilty about taking a day off from walking my 5 miles. Device works well except for an occasional glitch with the battery which can be remedied by a slight adjustment to the small metal prong in the battery compartment..

I think the Fitbit devices are outstanding and better than any phone app or old style step counter. They don't give false steps and to me are very accurate with the distances. I love that they sync to your phones and upload the data. They also can be linked to most food tracking system you are using.

This product tells you the time, steps walked, how intense of walk you did, how many calories you burned, and the distance you have walked each day. The clip on it is really a tight hold so you won't lose it so easily. The only drawback is having to get a specific battery when the one in it dies out. The claim is that the batteries last 4 to 6 months which isn't so bad.
