Overall, I'm very happy to have it. I don't have to carry a bulky dictionary.Sound is ok.However, it doesn't have the phonetic symbols. So, It isn't the perfect one to help the ESL people( like me) how to pronounce any word.

The first year I loved my Franklin talking dictionary. Even though the spoken word was often difficult to understand, it did gave me a general idea of how the word should sound.
But then it stopped working shortly after the warranty ran out.
Franklin is a bad choice. Do not pay $100 for a product that lasts one year.

My girlfriend uses this dictionary when she is reading her textbooks for college. It works well for her vocab and other normal words, not so well with proper names. She loves it! I hear this dictionary talk to her all the time...
