My parents had moved and where they live now they have a creek right out back something new to them and something that kept causing them to lots of chests colds from the the air being so damp. I spoke to the local pharmacist and explained that they moved and have been healthy until now but keep getting chest cold after chests cold and asked what was the best thing I could buy them for the house to help them from being sick and they recommended the dehumidifier. Well, I got it for them for x-mas and we plugged it in after they opened it and within prolly 4 hours we had a good bit of water in the bucket so I know I knew that I had done the right thing. It's not as loud as everyone makes it out to be. My parents live in a trailer and we have it in the kitchen by the back door and you can't even hear it in the living room. If you are in the kitchen talking it doesn't interfer with your conversation it's not that loud, air conditioners are way louder then this machine. It's on wheels, very easy to move around, has a handle and everything. If you watch you can even get free shipping for it because thats when I bought mine and that saved me almost $50 so that made it really nice. I'm actually thinking about buying another one for myself that's how pleased I am with it. If it keeps my parents from being sick all the time and my Dad out of the hospital then I see it as a lifesaver. He was always complaining of a sore throat and runny nose also but now.

Runs fairly quiet. Energy star a plus. It is hard to attach the hose--tight tiny space--better have thin fingers lol. Bad design flaw--its behind a little door. It would have been better on the outside of the unit. Who cares what it looks like lol. Use a pliers to tighten. If the hose is kinked--it will not operate continuosuly and just fills the tank and shuts off. Does agood size basement--no musty smell now.

Good at what it does, but LOUD

I suppose that a dehumidifier for this price wouldn't be incredibly feature filled, so I'm reviewing this for what it is. It's a decent unit, with easy setup and hose attachment. Operation is extremely simple and straightforward. I've had it running for a couple of days now, and have emptied the bucket three times so far. It really does a good job of removing the humid air from our basement... Helps get rid of that musty smell. I guess my biggest complaint about this unit, is that it is incredibly LOUD. I basically keep it behind a closed door, because our basement also serves as a family room. So, listening to music or watching TV with this unit running would NOT work. There is no way to adjust the fan speed either... It seems to run at all or nothing. But, I'm not disappointed in it. It does what I need it to do, and we just keep it running during the night or when we are at work. Then turn it off if we watch a movie or have company.

    Decent Performance

I use this small unit to keep a basement drier during the summer. In terms of operating noise, it's a lot like being next to a window air conditioner - on the outside of the house. You can talk/hear over it, but you do need to raise your voice. I wouldn't want it in my living room. It takes a lot of water out of the air, so that's fine. The one true design flaw is in the bucket design. For strength, there are a couple of internal ribs, and the water can only flow between the 3 separate compartments through some small gaps in the ribs. That makes pouring the water out of the bucket more difficult - it tends to run out of several sections at the same time, and not easily into a small sink or watering can, for those of you who like to use the water for house plants. Running the discharge via the hose would alleviate that problem. The bucket is also a little tricky to put back in place. You need to give it a little pop into place, but the unit is on wheels, so it moves away and can mis-align.

This is a great little machine. Pull it out of the box, plug it in, and let it do it's job. I'm using it for a basement room, and it has been great. It's not as noisy as I had anticipated based on reading other reviews. Doesn't rumble like my big older dehumidifier - jit's just the sound of the fan. It's small and light, so it's easy to move and store. It has wheels and a carrying handle to make it easy to reposition. I love it!

Finally found a practical use for my gift card. In 2 hours this machine dehumidified my small finished basement apartment after it got humid today. it's cute too. It is no noisier than a fan, so I don't know why reviewers are making a big deal out of that. It is background noise, not an annoying noise. The casters and handle are helpful. You can set the amount of humidity you want and the sensor will turn off the machine. I am impressed with the 'green' packaging; efficient box design.

    Works but Noisy

This compact dehumidifier does the job - I put it in a room which is next to a bathroom without a window, and every day I empty a bucket half full of water. It is very simple to operate. But it is so noisy you cannot be in the room while it's working. I can even hear it from the 2nd floor. Too bad, because otherwise it is a nice unit. I think it would be perfect for garages and basements, where you don't spend time there.

My basement is extremely humid. The first few hours I had the dehumidifier going the bucket filled at least half way. We got a new hose to try to hook up the automatic draining feature and the hose end did not fit in the small area to hook it up. I can use the handle and the wheels to move the dehumidifier and not have to worry about the weight.

This is a great little dehumidifier. It is lightweight and portable compared to the old dehumidifiers from back in the day! It looks nice, is quiet and sucks up a lot of moisture. It is easy to empty and just keeps going til the job is done...I use it in my 2-room basement, and it has no problem drying things up. For the price, I don't think you'll do any better! Would recommend it to anyone.

Works well but noisy and small reservoir

Although it is a 25pint dehumidifier the reservoir is poorly designed and small. It would work best if you had a drain nearby to run a hose to. It has done a good job of drying out our basement but would be way to noisy to have in a living area. Will look for a different model for our next one.
