Customers often highlight the quiet operation, efficiency, and effective humidity control of the 70-Pint Dehumidifier. Many appreciate its ability to maintain a consistent humidity level and its large water collection capacity. However, some users have concerns about its durability and lifespan, with reports of it lasting only a few years before encountering issues such as error codes and musty smells.

Overall Good Dehumidifier

Had unit ~7 weeks – daily use. Clean design – easy, user-friendly controls. Seems to reduce humidity reasonably fast.
The fan is tolerable but a bit noisy if used in room you’re in. Unit puts out a lot of heat which isn’t good during summer.
Unit turns off and lets you know when bucket is full (if not using hose to drain). Removing splash guard to clean bucket occasionally is difficult. There are numerous different kinds of tabs and you get one side loose only to have it lock up when you work the other side while trying not to break them. Poor design. Owners manual and Frigidaire cust serv couldn’t tell me the secret (remove handle first) but she went on YouTube and found out for me.
I bought a 70 and 50 pint. The first 70 pint leaked a bit first week (found out when I stepped on wet carpet), replacement seems ok. (The 50 pint upstairs doesn’t although it gets much less use.) Before emptying bucket, let unit sit turned off for several minutes or it may drip water while bucket is out.
Overall I’m satisfied and would recommend.

My old dehumidifier was 25 yrs old.The coils would freeze up and it would run all the time. I had a little water on the floor when I started up the new one. In 3 days the water was gone and the wet cellar smell was gone also. The humidity dropped to 50%. My son sleeps down cellar. He says he can breathe much better now. The dehumidifier cycles on/off now. Very easy to clean filter. Great unit.

I've had this running for awhile, attached to a hose running to a floor drain. It's relatively quiet. It's been very good at keeping the humidity in my large basement, below 45% (down from the 70% range). It also hasn't run my electric bills up too badly.

Bought this Dehumidifier to replace my 20 year old unit at the recommendation of my plumber. I was pleased at how much more efficient this unit was than my old unit. Quickly converted my basement humidity from near 60% humidity to 45%. Also saw my electric bill drop by over $20 per month.

Does much better than 50 pint model

I have the 50 pint model, this 70 pint unit seems to work much better. It will bring down the humidity faster, and start again as necessary, has a timer also, the downside is the tank on the 70 pint unit is half the size of the 50 pint unit, if you use the drain hose however this is not a problem.

I bought two of these Frigidaire, one with a 70 pints and the other 50 pints. I was surprised that it was quieter than I thought. The older dehumidifier was loud and noisy. This unit allows me to control the humidity with a setting and it even has a hose connection for continuous drainage. It keep the basement dry!

Our old dehumidifier died so I did some research and decided to buy this particular Frigidaire. I wanted one that I could attach a discharge hose to so it could automatically drain into my sump pump well. It was easy to set up and runs quietly. I am extremely happy with it!

Worth paying a bit more

The Frigidaire name is worth paying a bit more for, given it's USA made, and a bit more reliable. The first few months of usage produced desired results, pulling off humidity in the basement. Now that winter is upon us, the humidity is low anyway; so the real test will be in the spring when it gets more soggy downstairs.

I searched tons of reviews and decided on this one. We’ve had it for a few weeks now and it’s been great. We live in a 100 year old home and this dehumidifier has worked wonderfully at keeping the humidity down. It’s very easy to dump the water once it’s full.

Quiet compared to other models I have owned. Easy to set up right out of the box. I like the fact that it drains on it's own if placed near a drain. Did require the purchase of a garden house though - would have been nice to have that included with the package.

Compared to the last couple of dehumidifiers that i have bought, this one is much nicer, runs quieter, and really draws out the moisture. Even though it was more expensive, it seems for now to be worth it.....now to see how long it lasts......

We placed this Dehumidifier in our finished basement and it works like a charm. The air feels drier and the smell of must is virtually gone. The water container needs to be emptied often since we did not connect it to a permanent drain hose..

Not being mechanically inclined, I found this product easy to set up and easy to use. It is powerful, efficient, and well meets the moisture regulating needs of its basement use. (I have only had it about a month, so cannot comment on longer term usage experience.)

Great dehumidifier. Reliable. Durable. Easy to use. Doesn't overflow as it stops when the bucket gets full. Can't imagine how my basement would smell without this gem! Thank you for having this in stock right when I needed it Best Buy!!

This was so easy to set up and get working. I use a hose so I don't have to empty the basket. It removes humidity perfectly. While it not very quiet it is in my basement so the sound doesn't bother me. Instructions were easy to follow.

The room next to my garage is plagued with moisture and humidity. I can walk into my house and my hair would try it’s darnest to frizz up. At times, it’s so humid that I start worrying about a potential mold problem. I went on Bestbuy.com and search dehumidifiers. To my satisfaction, there was this one, in stock at my local Best Buy. I saw the pictures on the website, but was worried because I had a dehumidifier in the past and it was just loud and obnoxious. Turns out, this one is relatively quiet (especially for a dehumidifier), and includes a timer. I can turn it on and go to bed, knowing that it will not run over night and run up my electric bill. So far this has been a fantastic investment. It does everything a dehumidifier is supposed to do. It dehumidifies.

Works well dehumidifying attic space! It drains automatically so no need to constantly empty front bucket. Would definitely purchase it again if I needed a second dehumidifier. Quieter than other units which is a plus!

This is one of the better dehumidifiers I found on the market. The only complaint I have with it is that the bucket seems a little small for the size of the machine. The machine itself is very efficient and has a large light bar that blinks when bucket needs to be emptied.
