Great dehumidifier for the money. Fairly quiet. A little awkward to empty bucket. We do not use a hose.

My old dehumidifier quit working this past month. Another reviewer said this unit was quiet, so I took the chance and ordered one. This unit works great, is quiet and I also got this in 2 days. If you are looking for one, this one works great. Definitely recommended.

Pros: Quiet, sucks a lot of water right out of the air, controls easy to use, hygrometer seems accurate, easy to move- handy handle and hand holds on the side. Cons: Bucket sucks for pouring, cord is kind of short, air output direction can't be changed,

This works quite well and is quiet; we had a fairly muggy basement so it got to work quickly and has been filling up as described ever since. We empty it manually. The only negatives to this unit are, 1) when removing the water tank there's about a half-inch drop-down to the floor and you have to sometimes work (just a tiny bit) to pull up the carrying handle up so the tank won't tip forward and spill; 2) when re-inserting the water tank in the unit after emptying, the tank needs some prodding, and occasionally a smack or two with a fist, to snap back in place so the unit will continue 'drying out' the air. All things considered, though, it is quiet and does its job well. Would recommend.

Purchased the Frigidaire FAD704DWD about a month ago. Read a lot of reviews first and decided on the Frigidaire. The set up on this model was very easy, all I had to do was hook a hose to the hose connector on the back of the unit. ( This was a big improvement from earlier models). I use a pvc drain line to a floor drain. The unit is used in my basement. It is set from the factory on 'CO' for continuous, let it run three days on this setting to get a handle on the humidity, then set it on 60%. The unit has worked great. It will completely shut down once it reaches the desired setting, this is one thing that I was not sure prior to my purchase. Doing a great job in my basement, we have had record rain falls in North Carolina this year. Basement is over 1500 sq. feet. The fan does make some noise, but less than my old unit.

This dehumidifier is super efficient and works like a charm! Does exactly what it's supposed to do. Seems very smart to get it with a warranty because dehumidifiers seem to die every two years no matter what.

Best thing, well since AC! My home is prone to moisture problems in both the winter and summer (gotta love the deep hot, humid south). This product is amazing at removing much of the moisture from my home and it has allowed me to keep my AC ten degrees higher than normal because it doesn't feel as bad at 70 or even 75 degrees as it did before (for me that's saying a lot I like it around 60-65 degrees with fans going), so it's saved me a ton of money in utility bills too.

The unit was delivered as promised. Located in the basement as a replacement for a 40-some years old other-brand unit, was on for 4 days as recommended and it brought down the humidity level fro the high 60's to 50. A 12 ft hose was connected to a nearby drain. Emptying the collection bucket was easy enough but it had to be done 5 to 6 times over a 24 hr period. Very efficient and quiet operation.

So far so good with this model at about one month. I had the other Frigidaire 70 pints model that has three fan speeds and a pump. It stopped dehumidifying and would kick out error code FO all the time after several months. I contacted Frigidaire about it and under their warranty they sent me a VISA gift for the value of it that I used to pick this one up as a replacement since Frigidaire is among the best for dehumidifier warranty and so many brands of dehumidier currently being made often do not last more than a couple of years.

This unit was a replacement for a similar 70 pint Frigidaire unit that conked out after only two years of service. I bought the 4 year extended on the old unit knowing I would need it, and I did. I’ve never had a dehumidifier of any brand last more than 2-3 years. I loved the old unit until it quit working. I suspect the sealed, non- serviceable compressor/refrigeration unit was low or out of Freon. Anyhow, Best Buy replaced the old dehumidifier with this unit. I purchased another 4 year warranty knowing full well I will need to use it. The new unit runs fairly quiet, but I wouldn’t want it upstairs where I had to listen to it constantly. When I set it up, the humidity in my basement was 70% according to the digital readout on the dehumidifier. Within approximately 3 days, it had the humidity level down to 45%. At that point, it would cycle on and off to keep the humidity at 45%, just where I set it. The refrigeration system did not freeze up or frost over, even though the basement temperature was about 60°-65°. I hooked the hose from my old unit up to the new one, ran it to a floor drain, and just let it do it’s thing. So far (about 2 weeks), it has properly dehumidified my basement with no additional inputs from me. Set it and forget it. My basement is unfinished and approximately 1200 sq. ft. in size. There is also approximately 1200 sq. ft. of crawl space opening to the basement. So in essence, the unit is dehumidifying 2400 sq. ft. and doing it well enough that it does not run 100% of the time. I would recommend the purchase of this dehumidifier. I absolutely NEVER purchase extended warranties on anything except dehumidifiers, so I suggest you get on on this unit if you decide to buy it. Will be $65+/- well spent.

We bought this humidifier as we were seeing condensate on our upstairs windows. The unit works well and took care of the issue. The area is around 1200 sq feet. The unit is a bit loud even in low setting and can't be used in a bedroom. Overall we are pleased with the performance

This really pulls a ton of water out of the air. I didnt think I had THAT much moisture in the basement, but in the first 3-4 days, I had to empty this 2-3 time daily. Its a little bit loud, but compared to others it is fine.

It dehumidifies the area quite effectively and the noise volume is very acceptable. I like the fact that it has a filter (my previous dehumidifier didn’t). However, I couldn’t give the highest rating since the bucket is a little difficult to remove & empty without creating some mess and it keeps dripping when the bucket is removed. My previous model (also a Frigidaire) was easer to remove & replace the bucket, and didn’t drip when removed. The old bucket was also easier to empty without a mess.
