My last hard drive was a Seagate hard drive, Ive had a G tech, as my apple time machine backup drive and decided to buy a bigger more robust hard drive for my iTunes library as i have over 1 tb of music tv shows movies and apps, this hard drive is a hard worker and will get the job done, People may comment that the LED on the front is a bit to bright but for me thats a good sign it lets me know its working and is functioning properly. IT is a bit loud but nothing that music or talking cant just drown out. it has a slight hum as it runs and that doesn't seem to bother me any. I love G tech and i trust it way more then Seagate or western digital as I've tried both of those and both have failed after 6months or less. MY back up drive i use for time machine has lasted 3 plus years and i expect the same for this new 3TB drive,

Very nice external Hard Drive, Built like a Tank. Quite, cool running heavy duty outer case works well for heat dissipation. A little pricey, but quality is second to none. Go grab you. I maxed out my old 1 TB external and needed something to hold all that information and the plenty more I'd be producing in the future. This drive had plenty of space and the build quality of the unit itself gives me confidence the internals will hold up and not crash on me like other drives have.

This thing took no thought whatsoever. I plugged it into my iMac, turned it on, and it started backing up using Time Machine. There were a few easy steps to get it to back up to the G Drive in addition to my time capsule, but it was nearly fool proof. It feels very durable and looks sleek. Great product.

It's a great Thunderbolt drive, the only issue is it's quite loud; like room fan on high loud. Aside from that it's been excellent, and reliable.

I'm very protective with our data and only trust GDrive now after years of using many different products and G-Technology. GDrives never seem to have issues with data speed throttling or overall product integrity. I don't know of any of our GDrives that have ever failed. All the other brands, I've had issues with, but not G-Tech. Great stuff.

Very happy with G Drive. Great performance a title noisy

I needed a 3TB drive and didn't want to wait for days to transfer the data...this was the best Thunderbolt option around, and with Best Buy's price matching, I was able to get it the night before I left town and safely back up my data before I left! This drive connected to my Mac Pro without problems...have not re-accessed data since leaving, but I assume it works fine.

I use G Tech drives all the time in my field of work, Film and Video production and I can say that I have yet to experience a faulty G Tech drive, I was once on a show where we ordered over 50 (1 TB drives at the time) and not a single drive had issues. I only wish we had Thunderbolt at the time. The thunderbolt connection is fantastic and is very useful when trying to back up large files, in my case multiple GBS of footage. I only wish there was a 4TB in stock but my project was time sensitive so the 3TB worked out great.

A friend of mine have been buying G-technology hard drives for years and He always suggested me to buy this brand next time I will be in the market for one. I finally did it. The look is the closest thing to a Mac. Thunderbolt is awesome. What it will take me an overnight backup took just a few hours. It was a truly plug and play. I didn't have to do anything except plug it in. So far I am happy!

Bought this hard drive to connect to my MacBook and be used for extra storage. Was easy to set up and start using right away. Use it to store all of my media files for ITunes and also for Time Machine Backups. Love it

This is a very quiet and very fast drive. It is made as if it were to be used on the space shuttle. I bought it to backup my IMAC and it is connected via the Thunderbolt cable. It has functioned and you don't even know it is there. Nothing to do after the initial setup that I did in less than 10 minutes.

Set up as my Mac Mini time capsule took just a few moments. Reliable so far. I'll follow up if it's reliability is ever actually put to the test.

Very very fast. It is big, so don't plan on throwing into laptop bag. It is meant to stay on your desk. Very fast. Impressive.

Super fast external drive. I have been using it for backing up files and has saved me a lot of time. It's also very solid.

really quick and easy to set up and works well. No issues with it, its my second unit, first one is about a year old and ran out of space.

I wanted an external drive to handle my photo and video editing. Thunderbolt can be really fast. But it turns out with a spinning hard drive that as soon as it has a lot of data on it, the speed drops to similar to any usb 3 drive. Plus, this one is really loud. Somehow the aluminum housing is an echo chamber. Wasn't worth the extra $$

I have had other hard drives from this brand and it was amazing so when that one died I decided to purchase this one. I've had it about two months and so far so good. It works well, has a great amount of space, and is easy to use. I am hoping it holds up as well as my previous one.

very stable product and with no fuss. hook up in minutes and has run great.

I would recommend this to anyone needing a reliable back-up drive.
