    The Best Only Gets BETTER

After having read the first book several years ago, I was greatly please to hear that HBO would be doing a series based on the books. The acting, writing, cinematography, f/x, & just about everything else, are first rate. I seriously hope that HBO continues with the series all the way through, especially considering that there are supposed to be three more books forthcoming. I don't mind in the least that certain events covered in the previous/following book are occasionally moved around, to the following/previous season, as it helps to put things in a more accurate chronological timeline. I do, however, have one complaint, that being that certain events are changed enough to the point (when compared against the books) that I wonder how they will be resolved. A perfect case-in-point is the much-talked-about "Red Wedding". In the HBO series, King Robb's wife was present, and as such, her character is no longer alive. On the other hand, in the book, she was purposely left behind, so as to not cause undue umbrage to the Fray's, especially 'Lord' Walder Fray. As I start reading book 5, "A Dance With Dragons", knowing that her character is still alive, I wonder what changes the show's writers will make, considering they've already killed her off on the show. I have to admit that, no matter what changes have been made, of the three seasons (so far), season 3 was the best. Season 4 is to be the second half of the third book, yet I also wonder how the following 2-3 seasons will be handled, being that books 4 & 5 cover, for the most part, the same timeline, just with different characters being focuseded on (the last quarter of book 5, from what I understand, brings everything back together, and, one again, moves things forward). Would I recommend the purchase of Season 3 to others? Let me put it this way...on a scale of 1-10, my "should you purchase" recommendation is 12 (not even 11 isn't high enough).

Terrific Blu-ray of a Terrific Season of Televisio

As anybody who's caught up with this show will tell you, Season 3 was a high point. The status quo was shaken up in multiple storylines, and it should lead into an even more disruptive 4th season. Just on the merit of the show alone, this set is worth checking out. However, even outside of the quality of the series, this is a great blu-ray set. The picture is pristine, the uncompressed surround sound is top-notch, and they've continued to provide excellent animated "History and Lore" segments to flesh out the background of Westeros and its several houses/religions. Watching the show with the Interactive Guide, jumping into history segments when they're relevant to the story, is the best possible way to experience the story (outside of the books, arguably). If you've viewed prior seasons this way, just know that S3's segments are just as strong and consist of, IMO, even better animation. The only negative is that some of the features are a bit odd. For instance, I don't know how necessary a 15 minute summary of Season 2 is on a Season 3 set. This is far from subtraction by addition, though. This is one of the strongest season sets around, and worth far more than the $30 it cost in the first week of release.

    The Best Show on TV

Now that Breaking Bad has ended its run, the title of best show on TV (including Netflix shows) goes to Game of Thrones. It's the show that most consistently delivers satisfying episode after satisfying episode. And each season has gotten better. The third season will thrill you and leave you with one giant knot in your stomach. I was continually captivated by the Starks trying to unite, Tywin making a bold move, and Daenerys growing in strength. Yet, there is so much more. This show is one of the few shows that requires second and third viewings to fully appreciate the entire story. This speaks to the richness of George RR Martin's story and the ability of the two showrunners to capture most of its spirit. Definitely, get this series on blu-ray to enjoy to its fullest. I also really like the limited edition sigil covers. I got the Targaryen version because...well, you should watch to find out.

First of all the price of $29.99 for the entire season 3 game of thrones includes 6 Blu ray Discs plus two, two sided dvds of all 10 episodes plus a digital trasfer for your pc, I pad or mobile is a great deal, The package comes with special coorugated sigil packaging of either house Targareyn. House Lanaster or House Stark,I took house Targareyn because of the dragons and they will kick butt in upcoming series. My prediction, loads of special features, although this season 3 does not stand up to season 1 and 2 in my opinion is still woth having and you will learn more on the series then just watching the discs and get the actors perspectives, Great value for someone like me who will purchase the complete series by the time it ends, I have all the soprano box sets so this is my second hbo series Im collecting

Game of thrones season 3 is everything you have come to expect from the series. The only issue I have of note is limited edition box art being repeated for this season. The beauty of game of thrones is, you have to chose a side, you cannot go back. The limited editions boxes reflected that nicely, in the first season, it was a competition between the targaryn and the Starks for me. In the second, I had to chose between those following the drown god, or the lanisters. But this season, I got to pick the targaryns because it was the only family left..... Hopefully this year best buy will do a better contest for the box art that more people know about.

There isn't much I can say other than this is easily one of the best series of all time. I've been reading the books as well and this is one of the few screen adaptations that can hang with the books. Of course there are some minor differences, but to keep it 100% would probably require 40 episode seasons. Considering the constraints the series still stays true to the books better than any other adaptations. I can't really leave a review of the extras since I haven't had the time to watch them yet, but I can say I love the best buy exclusive covers and have one from each season.

So I don't have HBO, so I've been watching GoT from bluray for the past year. I'm a huge LOTR fan so I figured I'd give it a try. Loved it. So it felt like forever waiting for season 3 to come out. I've been patiently waiting to see what will happen after that cliff hanger with Sam and the White Walkers at the end of season 2. I like to watch the show first then read the corresponding book. I prefer the visual aspect of it. So going into season 3 I didn't know what to expect. So buy this and prepare to be in shock for like 3 to 4 days. Hehe. 10/10

Taken from the first two thirds of A Storm of Swords, Season 3 of Game of Thrones does an incredible job introducing many new characters. With so many characters as it is they do such a good job of not overwhelming the viewer with information. The stakes are raised to an extreme this season which has left many viewers in awe. This is a perfect setup to what will be a vastly more exciting and shocking season. Special features are informative and the commentaries are hilarious and provide useful insight to the production of this massive show.

If you're reading this, you probably already know about how good the show is and all that. The Bluray set itself is loaded with extra features that are worth checking out. I've been getting the best buy house sigil edition sets since season 1. I was disappointed that they relied on a facebook poll and reissued ones. I'm not upset at being able to get the Targaryen cover for season 3, since I opted for the Starks on season one. I was just really hoping for an edition for the one true and rightful King of Westeros, Stannis Barratheon

Love the books (well, at least the first three, four and five drag a bit). This adaptation is very faithful to the main plot points in book three, which I consider to be the best of the books so far. I wasn't sure splitting book three over two seasons wold work, but they picked the right point to make the season break. Peter Dinglage is INCREDIBLE as Tyrion, the most nuanced character of the series. Lord Tywin and Varys are superb, and the rest of the cast are fantastic. Quality of the transfer is top notch, highly recommended.

This is a great series that has fantastic visuals and multiple plot lines that are easy to follow. At the end of each season I find myself a bit sad that the next season is far away. The series does have its flaws in that there are only 10 episodes per season and for certain reasons it is difficult to get attached to characters. On the flip side each episode is jam packed of content. This series is definitely not appropriate for young kids as there is significant nudity and other situations that parents will take issue to.

I have read all the books in the fire and ice series and its one of my favorite book series. GOT is a great adaptation especially when you consider how much information must be compacted into each season. Book three was a very long book(yet not the longest) so it wasn't completed in season three and they changed things around slightly but I think it was needed for those who haven't read the books. also the changes done to the red wedding I truly feel only added a greater emotion impact that gets me every time!

After two excellent seasons this season hits the ground running. Picking up after the climatic battle of Blackwater Bay and the Nightwatch's stand at the fist of the first men. This season went along way to further the intertwining story lines, as well as significant character development of every character of interest to the main plot line. Not to mention, what must be one of the most shocking climatic scenes in the history of television drama (of course I am referring to the Red Wedding episode).

So, if you're looking at Game of Thrones Season 3, then you really already know enough about the story to know if you liked Season 1 and/or 2. If you liked the earlier seasons, Season 3 is a continuation of the excellent writing and acting from the first two seasons. As to this particular version, I got the Targaryen cover as I have always liked stuff with dragons on it, and the cover that this comes in is pretty cool looking with it. Just like seasons 1 and 2, ecstatic that I got it :)

So far I believe this 3rd season is the most exciting so far. I've never read the books but I believe the tv series is great in character development and plot twists. I'm looking forward to the upcoming 4th season. I love the bluray version because of its interactive menus as it lets you know who the characters are in the scene (there are a lot of Characters in GoT) and it also describes where the scene is taking place. Overall I'm satisfied with the series so far.

I, like most of you reading this review, am a huge fan. Like Hodor huge. I pre ordered the GOThrones season 3 because I wanted to make sure I got the Targaryen edition. In addition Best Buy offered an excellent deal and perks if you pre ordered. The movie arrived one day after the initial release date and I couldn't be happier. I will continue to be a faithful Best Buy customer, as they have always met or exceeded my expectations of a retail business.

We're living in a Golden Age of Television. Breaking Bad just finished and Mad Men is in its last Season. What's left to fill the void? Game of Thrones. There is no understating just how good this show is. Characters are engaging, the setting is cool as hell, and the plot is great. Now it's on Blu-ray, and looks and sound great, and has an ungodly amount of extras. 12 commentaries, a couple of deleted scenes and a bunch of others extras.

Game of Thrones is proof television is better than the movies. I resisted watching this show as thought it was trendy and heavier on fantasy like the Hobbit. Glad I gave in and got hooked! Feels more historical like Braveheart and even in touch with today with its political intrigue, story lines and characters. I'd warn though - don't get too comfortable with particular characters, you never know when their time is up...

Each season of Game of Thrones continues to get better and better in my opinion. Season 3 has so many crazy unforeseeable twists and turns its not funny. Episode 9, "The Rains of Castamere" is one of the single best television episodes I've ever seen for any series. The only bad thing about this set and this series is that it leaves you wanting more, and having to wait for season 4 to start in April.
