Great watch live the running metrics. Very accurate. The activity tracker and sleep tracker is awesome. Love being able to see texts and answer calls while running. Big bonus to download custom apps. Basically a running computer activity tracker watch sleep tracker and smart watch in one. Only issue is the threshold test is hard to make work. You have to hit the heart rate zones dead on starting easy and ending up all out over 3-4 miles. If u under or overshoot it fails to detect threshold. First timer I undershot and second time I overshot. Will try again next week. Backlight could be smile brighter

Great watch for the advanced runner and data lover

This watch was my first Garmin watch, I upgraded from an entry level TomTom Cardio HR and before that RunKeeper on my phone. While this watch is pricier I found it to be worth it. The watch is super light and comfortable. If you've synced the watch recently then it acquires a GPS signal in about 5-10 seconds which is awesome. Battery life is excellent for a GPS watch, although you'll get less out of it if you utilize it as an activity tracker as well. Using it exclusively for running I go weeks with on charge. The extra $$$ really goes towards the data that you get when using the watch on combination with the HR band. While I like the built in HR of some watches, I found the band to be super comfortable and more accurate. The data provided gives you everything from your cadence to your balance, ground contact time (how long your feet are on the found) and oscillation (how much are you bouncing.) Now to figure out what to do with it! The only negatives are the poor community functionality of the Garmin Connect service, and once the watch didn't sync right with Garmin Connect (but I was able to upload it manually) One last thing, it is a smart watch and is customizable. Getting notifications on a run works great, and if I didn't already have an Apple Watch this would be an effective everyday watch.

    My Running Buddy

First I was hesitant to buy any wearable Garmin products due to some propriety and business nature of Garmin Company as a whole, known mostly for GPS oriented devices. Not known for wearables at the onset of wearable watches in the early days. The Garmin Forerunner 630 GPS Running Watch (FR630) has completely changed my perception about Garmin Company as a whole. In my opinion FR630 blew away other established business entities that sells the same advance wearable models for runners. What I like most about FR630 is the accuracy of the chest strap to measure my heart rate during a run. Also, it has superb features such as activity tracking, navigation, data transfer, notifications, personalization, and very user-friendly metric device to name a few. FR630 has become my running buddy.

I love my new Garmin! It gives me all the stats I want and then some. This is my first Garmin so it took a little while to figure out how to use it. And I'm still learning! I was hoping it would replace my Fitbit as my everyday activity tracker but it wasn't a good fit for me to wear all day, every day. Now i just strap it on for my runs. I was worried about not liking the chest heart rate monitor but I don't notice it at all. Overall I highly recommend as long as you don't mind putting the effort into learning how to use it.

The watch was functional but ugly as sin. I swapped is for the fenix 3 hr and love it. This is still a great running watch but just not for everyday wearing.

Love the watch and functions. Easy to care for and battery lasts a week. Display is large and Garmin Connect allows you to customize. Prefer the heart monitor chest strap versus wrist reader. This one does not have the wrist HRM.

I returned this watch because it looked thin and cheap. I exchanged it for the Fenix 3 HR and it looks and feels more like a normal watch. The 630 did everything I needed but just fell short in its appearance.

This is my first real runners watch and I couldn't be more pleased with this product. I run mostly outside but I love that it will also track my treadmill runs, along with all the strength training I do. This watch is much more comfortable to wear than my fitbit and I love all the features it offers now that I'll be training for a marathon this year.

    Died during set up

My watch was a gift and I am only reviewing from my personal experience. During the set up process, my watch powered off, would not turn on, would not be recognized by either of my computers, and could not be reset. Best Buy was fantastic during the review process but no stores near me have this watch for purchase, and the particular one I bought is now sold out online, so I am sitting here with my store credit waiting on a suitable watch to become available for purchase.
