TheWirecutter.com rated the nuvi2539LMT as the best car GPS for most people. I wanted a GPS for directions, and didn't want Bluetooth or dash cam features. It responds faster than my previous model (nuvi1300). The traffic feature has been very helpful, though the estimated delay time varies continually, so you might get an estimated delay of, say, 9 min, but once you hit the trouble spot, you might find it is upwards of 20 min. You can choose whether to use alternate routes automatically, or upon request. The unit might route you through the delay if it doesn't find a faster route (per the manual). Read the manual before use; I thought I turned the unit off, but actually put it in sleep mode, draining the battery. The power button is used for both sleep mode and on/off. To charge the unit from an outlet, you'll need to buy an AC adapter cable for that (Model: 0101147802 is one at BestBuy). The pinch/zoom capability with the glass screen is nice, but there can be a lot more glare off the glass compared to the matte screen of my previous GPS. I have used it for a couple of months. I have not yet needed to download map updates, so can't comment on how fast or slow that process is. So far, the glare is my main complaint.

This is a great unit for those that have Blue tooth in car. Live time Map and Traffic so no more expense until unit fails. We currently use three units, and this is best value of all. And this unit no longer require SD card to fully down load the Full US Map set. Note: Garmin still has problem that the SD slot is on bottom and can be ejected and lost, while removing from windshield mount ball.

I have used this GPS device along with Google's navigation app and found them both to chose similar routes. The Garmin has additional features that make it more useful. The main reason that I bought it was because Google does not work well in areas that have poor cell coverage.

We had a different brand GPS for the past 6 years, but the maps would not update online, and the routes were not always accurate. So far, this one has accurate maps and directions, the voice is much more pleasant, and we are very happy with it. Being able to represent our car on the map as a football or the Black Pearl is just a fun added bonus!

This was a replacement for an older model. Worked as I thought it would. Used it for a long trip and it worked perfectly.

The information sheet on this sounds great but in my time with using it it falls short. Dont get me wrong, the features are what they say but so far we have had it not turn on, turn off without us turning it off and not update completely even though it said it completed. At this very moment we are trying to update again but it keeps going to sleep a nd stopping the process. This has gone on for 4 hours now. So we might be taking it back.

I bought this for my daughter to help her get to places with confidence and she loves it.

Love the free updates for life, the traffic addition and the ease of use. Big bonus having the voice use landmarks such as street lights etc.

Replaced an old Garmin. Voice prompts are more timely. Love 3D lane direction. Traffic updates and re-routing are a great addition.

Ordered this product in a hurry, with quick look at reviews. Great purchase, the only thing I would like more is if it had voice command. Otherwise, for the price its great, especially with lifetime traffic / map updates!

We have a fleet of trucks and use these in our trucks. It is a multi purpose Garmin. It can be tied to a back up camera too.

The Garmin kept taking us on back roads on our recent trip. Found out wee had it set wrong. Our bad

... Who is a new driver, and we didn't want her having to use her phone while driving for directions. This Garmin is perfect for her, and will keep her safely on her way.

Works great and like that the unit will tell you the speed limits as it is sometime hard to see the signs when speeds zones vary.

Used it a few times without any problems, really it's too soon to tell
