    Miss the old C series

When it works its great Pros: -Traffic works great ( When it works) most of the time. -Voice command is a great feature, sometimes - The traffic lane assistant is a great feature. Lets you know what lane you need to be in about a mile before your exit or changing freeways Cons -Traffic tends to lag a little -Voice command worked great at first, now it has a hard time understanding the address and the software tends to be buggy Every now and then. - Every now and then a screen pops up saying that the traffic/power cord is not compatible with my device. - Will sometimes freeze up on you. Other Thoughts The old C series by Garmin where much more dependable then the newer Nuvi series. But the Nuvi's, when they work are great. I travel all over and depend heavy on these. I Tried the Tom Tom's didn't like it. The interface on the Garmin's are much easier to use. If you pick one of these up, make sure to get the extended warranty. Returning a warn out one has never been a problem with BB

We have always used a Garmin. We recently replace our old one that stopped working properly with this model. We didn't want to spend a lot of money on a GPS, but wanted the larger screen. This model has so many features that we would have liked to have had on our older model. It's easy to use and once you put in your desired location and hit go you can put it down and just listen to it. The voice directions are clear and accurate. The voice itself is much easier to understand that our older model. You don't really need to look at it. I love all of the features. When you are looking for a particular place to eat it tells you if it's ahead on your route or behind on your route so you know if it's an option or not. The prompts are wonderful in every aspect of it from putting in the address to looking for destinations. Another great feature is that when you look to see upcoming street turns, etc. it highlights where you currently are in your route and keeps listed where you have been. It beeps to notify you that you are in a school zone. I haven't used the blue tooth feature yet so I can't comment on it. There are also other features that I haven't explored yet. Every time I use it I find something new that it can do. Overall, we are very pleased.

This Garmin Nuvi 2597 LMT with a 5" screen is a nice GPS. It has some nice features like voice command and several others. Life time maps is also nice to have. The 2597 also gives you a warning when approaching school zones. I have been using it since December 2014 and I do not leave home with out it. Great product ! One thing I wish was better is if the voice could pronounce the names of streets better.

I purchased this GPS to navigate my way around Chicago. I have a Samsung Galaxy S6 phone and love the GPS feature on it, but trying to juggle the phone function and GPS function in Chicago traffic just wasn't safe. There are more capable GPS units out there at higher prices, but there was no reason to pay for capabilities I don't need. This unit just does its job and doesn't distract me. I think it's at the sweet spot of price v. performance.

I am very happy with my Garmin 2597LMT. It has taken me from Hendersonville, NC to Ft. Lauderdale, FL, and back with nary a hitch. It connects flawlessly with my cell phone and the voice command function works very well. My unit needed can update to the maps right out of the box, but the update process was flawless as well. I have also used it locally to get to a restaurant that I hadn't visited before. Again, performance excellent.

I bought this particular GPS for a vacation. After completing the map updates, it was very easy to setup and personalize for my trip (hotels, gas, food and even our entertainment). The voice commands and voice prompts were very simple to use, even while driving. I would recommend this GPS to everybody... I am more than satisfied with this purchase!!

Works very well. Easy to understand, and easy to glance at while driving. Voice commands work fairly well, so i use them when driving. The live traffic applications seem to work fairly well, but still not perfect, and that is with paying an extra 20 dollars for improved traffic using a link to my smartphone. All and all, it is a terrific gps unit. I felt like it was well worth the 150 that I paid.

So far so good. Easy to use and easy to see the screen. Tells you exactly which lane to be in which is helpful when traveling on unfamiliar highways. Didn't need the Bluetooth feature but got a good deal so why not.

Lifetime apps is a great feature. I like the split screen that appears before an exit, the voice tells you which lane you need to be in to make the proper turns, the screen is a great size, and it connects with the satellite much quicker than my first Garmin. Great device.

I was looking for a new GPS and after doing a little research myself I came across this one. I've been using it for a few weeks and I have to say I love it! Especially the voice command! Very easy to use, and you don't have to give the full address and it's already bringing up possible addresses! I would definitely recommend!

I wanted a fairly basic GPS that I could use instead of relying on a phone data plan. I absolutely love my nuvi. The interface is easy to use and the voice command feature is definitely something that makes this model stand out (this is the "lowest"/cheapest model that has it). While the voice recognition isn't quite as forgiving as I had hoped (e.g., you have to enunciate very clearly and speak loudly), it still gets the job done without taking your hands off the wheel. The Active Lane Guidance and photoReal junction view features are great upgrades from previous models; I have found they really help clear up directions when you need them the most. Also, the lifetime maps and traffic leaves me assured that this is a good investment for many years to come, and the updates are easy to install. There have been just a couple times when I have missed a turn due to confusion; however, I think that is to be expected with any navigation system and the nuvi's software quickly recalculates and helps you back on track. Overall, I highly recommended this nuvi for anyone needing a GPS - the extra features (specifically the voice command) are worth the little extra money, and Best Buy had a great price.

I've bought a few Garmin GPS' previously for myself and other family members. Good experience with all of them. I have bought two of this particular model. The Bluetooth works well. It also has current traffic. It's easy to search for a particular store or restaurant in the area you are in. You can save places that you go often. I take it everywhere. It also has lifetime updates. Great item for the price.

This unit worked great rite out of the box. I was having problems when I was on a long trip and was able to get this unit to replace my broken unit. I plugged it in and was on my way with no more problems. I did have to update the map once I returned home after my trip. I will only use a Garmin GPS as it is way more cost effective than the in car units and I am able to move between cars.

The Garmin Nuvi2597LMT has everything we could ever want in a GPS: Garmin's fantastic intuitive user interface, clear voice guidance, and even recognizes spoken commands. The lifetime maps and traffic updates is relatively new (I previously paid Garmin about half the price of a GPS to download an update, and it didn't fit on my older GPS!). I was blown away when driving on our local state road and the GPS not only told me about the upcoming exit, but clearly showed the exit as well as the correct highway signage labeling the exit - Those big green signs that sometimes name obscure roads or compass directions - there was a near photographic image of the very sign on the right half of the GPS screen. That takes all the uncertainty out of navigation!

Great item. Screen is bright, easy to navigate. Bluetooth option works well. Voice assistance is smartest thing ever! So much easier than typing in where you want to go, especially when you are trying to drive at the same time, all you do is talk to it! Lifetime maps, so no additional charges for updates. Very happy with this purchase.

I bought a Garmin about 7 years ago and it was time to upgrade. The lifetime maps was the orIginal reason I bought this specific time but I'm in love with the traffic updates. It's the perfect size and the rest of the features are easy to use.

I had owned a Garmin NUVI in the past but never updated the maps. After seeing what it would run me to update it made more sense to buy new. This particular model features free lifetime map updates, sweet. After using it on several trips I am very satisfied. Finally my address can be located! Easy to program and gives landmarks making it easier to navigate through unfamiliar areas. I'm very happy with it.

I didn't want to use my cell phone data plan while traveling in Canada, and renting a GPS from the car rental agencies for 2 weeks is very expensive. So I purchased this little garmin and it ended up saving me both time and money, not to mention that it works great. So much better than the older models....and these new models no longer announce "recalculating" :)
