Customers are saying

Customers recognize the vívofit 2 Activity Tracker's exceptional battery life and ease of use as significant advantages. Many appreciate its water resistance and sleep tracking capabilities, while some find the syncing process challenging and express a desire for a heart rate monitor. The device's size and clasp have also received mixed feedback. Overall, the positive aspects of battery life and ease of use appear to outweigh the concerns regarding syncing and the lack of a heart rate monitor for many users.

Advantages over the Fitbit Charge are; it is waterproof, doesn't have to be recharged, alerts you to be active and automatically increases your goal. The disadvantages are; it doesn't sync quite as often, doesn't have an alarm and doesn't notify you when you've reached your goal. Having Vivofit friends that I compete against really helps to keep me motivated.

I have had my Garmin VivoFit 2 for a month. Also, purchased one for my husband. Really like that it runs on a watch battery instead of having to charge it every so often! Links to My Fitness Pal app which I was already using.

    Long Battery, Waterproof, Just Works

This tracker is great, especially when combined with a chest strap for the heart rate monitor. It syncs not via direct Bluetooth, but via built in Bluetooth from within the software. So, if you can't get it to sync, it's because you need to remove it from the phone's BT list and use the software only. What's great: The long battery, the comfortable wrist strap, waterproof, and fairly accurate. Very few ghost steps. The software is awesome. Backlight for night viewing. It reminds you to move if you have not moved in a while. Both audio and visual. Also, the sleep tracker is great so you can see your patterns, movement, etc. I already have one with a chest strap, and purchased another for my significant other.

What sold me on the Vivofit 2 over the much acclaimed Fitbit was the battery feature. I know me. If I had to take off the tracker to charge it, it would never find its way back to my wrist. The Vivofit 2 solves that obstacle by running on batteries, which last a year or more before needing replacement. It's waterproof, too, so it never has to leave my arm. I can shower, do dishes, and swim with confidence. The tracker sets a goal for me based on the steps I was able to accomplish the day before. It tracks the number of steps I've done, the steps needed to complete my goal, counts calories, and shows the date and time. It also has a stopwatch feature to time my workouts. It beeps when I've been idle for too long and when I've hit my goal. It also shows a red line that grows and flashes to prompt me to move. A two-minute walk resets it. When the Vivofit 2 arrives, it will include two wristbands, unlike the Fitbit where you have to choose a size and hope you got it correct. The clasp on the band turns and locks it into place. I've been wearing mine for six months and have never had a slippage. There is a sleep mode, but I find I don't need to select it. The tracker senses non-movement lying down and records it as sleep. It has even recorded a nap as a nap! It's interesting to see my sleep patterns. Definitely need to work on that deep sleep. The app also tracks weight, which I do use, and other things, which I do not. I don't have the app in front of me, so I can't recall them at the moment. I paired this easily with Virgin Pulse, a program we use at work. The reps there said it would only work with the original Vivofit, but I found that is not the case. Definitely cannot go wrong with this tracker.

I've had about every fitness tracker out there. This one is so easy to use, and durable. You don't have to worry about charging all the time, if the batteries die after a few years, change them. Waterproof and close to the most accurate ones (matches up nicely with my handheld GPS on distance. GREAT buy.

This is my first tracker. I was using my phone as a tracker but carrying the phone with me all the time was getting tiresome. I was about to buy the Fitbits when I saw the Vivofit 2. I read the Vivofit2 review and specs and Fitbits cannot do these things: WATER RESISTANCE - I swim, body surf, taking a shower etc, I don't have to worry about getting it wet NO RECHARGE EVERY 3 DAYS- Battery is 1 year replaceable WATCH- Has a watch.. Unless you want to wear a FITBIT on one wrist and watch on the other wrist BACKLIGHT AND BOLD LARGE NUMBERS/LETTERS - Can see at night LOCKING BAND- Imagine running exercising and your band gets loose and it falls off your wrist and lose it. With the FITBIT it can and has happened VARIOUS COLOR BANDS- Buy these at Best Buy and wear different color bands to match your wardrobe SLEEP TRACKER - It works and pretty interesting REMINDER - Tells u to get up and be active SYNC - Is a breeze with your phone or computer This is a great product keeps you active, up and running!! Get it you won't regret it.

I wanted a fitness band and did a lot of research before deciding on one. I could not be happier. I have had my first vivofit for a year, never had a bit of trouble with it, and that's after wearing it every day inside the MRI room. I only bought a new one because I wanted the new version, with the backlight. Yes, it may not be spot on accurate but it does pretty good. And it is a definite motivator. Water proof, I almost never take it off. This band is more flexible than my first one, so it's comfortable to wear. My older one, took some time to wear it in.

    Fitbit Killer!

Better than my old Fitbit in most ways, except that it doesn't count flights of stairs. It has a year batter life w/o needing to be recharged, backlight, pairs with a heart rate strap, has a face that is always on and tells the time, and has an audible alert and visual cues that urge you to move. Much more motivating than my Fitbit. The only knock that I would give this product is the smartphone app, online syncing platform, and third party application ecosystem are not as good as Fitbit. Definitely something to consider if you're shopping for a new fitness wearable!

This does 90% of what I would have liked it to do. I love the fact that it is water resistant, but wish it would have included the heart rate monitor with the same price point as the fitbit. I do love the fact that you don't have to charge it though. The step counter could be a little better though and the mileage meter. I run for 7 miles on a treadmill and it only gives me 5.7 or so. I have to recalculate it after the fact on My Fitness Pal.

I am very pleased with my vivofit 2. It works well for what I wanted. It syncs with my iPhone 6 Plus consistently well. Love the clock, backlight, waterproof, and no need to regularly charge it. The Garmin Connect app is decent, not outstanding, but it interfaces well with myFitness Pal app too for food tracking and calorie counting.

Love the activity bar that reminds you to walk every hour! And particularly wanted a wearable device that doubled as a watch without having to recharge it. I also like the backlight that was added to the Vivofit 2. And I like the changeable bands. The downside: yes the uploading to the Garmin Connect website is a bit glitchy--doesn't always connect the first time. But that's software, which I'm sure will get corrected down the line. And if not--pretty graphs isn't what I was after anyway. I mainly want the time/date, step goals, and the reminder to move. For that it works wonderfully and is super comfortable and waterproof. Happy with my purchase!

As a person with a goal to be healthier, this device suits my needs. I had the Vivosmart but needed the convenience of the built in heart monitor. It's not the best but it is enough for what I need. It seems to have a bit of difficulty reading higher heart rates during a work out, leaving me guessing a bit on how many intensity minutes I have on the week. On the other hand I am in the pool a lot and it seems to do great in the water record my swimming activity which has been my primary exercise. It is comfortable but will advise to wash and dry it a couple times a day to eliminate the possibility of rash or irritation as I had read in a review before. One thing I would like to see on this model is a brighter display like that of my original Vivosmart. The message alert is great!!! Overall I am happy with my device and have used it for two weeks now.

This was a gift for a parent. It's simple to use and has a very secure clasp. I was told that if you will be taking it off and on regularly, the clasp could be a bit of a bother because it is so difficult to secure in place. Do the basic activity tracking features. Not having to charge it is a nice feature.

I did NOT want a smart watch, i wanted something that did basic fitness and had a battery, not a daily or weekly chargeable. Garmin ViviFit2 does just that. Plus I can wear it kayaking! Do not like the Garmin Coonect and that only select few Bluetooth. But that's OK.

We didn't need an expensive band with lots of bells and whistles and have found that this one meets our needs and then some. I like the fact that you don't need to charge it constantly, that it's waterproof, and even tracks our sleep. We didn't need one that notifies us every time a message or text came in. The phone does that quite well.

I really enjoy the Garmin vivofit2. It's comfortable to wear and can even go in the shower. It is a great reminder to walk some each hour and very motivating to watch the steps add up. It sets goals for you each day and I've found the goals to be realistic. It does not measure activities such as biking or skating, And the personal stride feature needs some tweaking to adjust for accurate distance measure. Overall, I think it is a handy tool to encourage healthy activity and is a good value for the price.
