we purchased 2 of these during the pandemic. With the kids stuck at home we wanted to make sure they were getting enough activity. Now they compete to see who can reach their goals first. The app is great and we can add chores for each kid to help them gain coins. We already had a reward system for them but this integrated well. It also lets us track there sleep. The one we bought for my son had a large band which was a little bit tight. after a few days it was leaving a mark. the packaging only comes wiht one size band. if you want the XL band you can buy it for an additional $20. I didnt like having to pay extra just to make it fit so i took off a star.

In the era of electronic devices replacing physical activity for kids this is a good idea to help get them motivated. Good starter for young kids. My daughter got very competitive on who's winning the step race ;) She also loves that she has the only one that can go in the pool in the family. The only complaint would be that band it comes with is REALLY small. My daughter is 6 and it left marks after wearing for a few days. We stretched it on a container which helped but will probably have to look at replacement bands to try and get something bigger for her.

We pick this up for our son as a recommendation from his teacher to use towards motivation and reward systems. So far, it is well-made, water resistant, easy to use, and my seven-year-old enjoys using it. All of it is exactly as it should be, but we do wish that the band would be able to be sized a little differently. Having a universal size band is OK, but it's tough when you have a small wrist. Other than not being able to reduce the size of the band, we are very happy with this product.

    Good activity tracker for kids

This is a good activity tracker for the kids. The wristband is a bit small for kids. My 5 yr old is average size but it fits him pretty snuggly. The description says that it’s for kids 5-9 yrs. I don’t think it’ll fit my kids by the time he’s 7-8. The step counts might be a bit off counting more for less. However, the nice thing is it’s kid-friendly, keeps my kid interested in doing more activities to earn points/rewards which is the whole purpose of coughing up quite a bit $$ for a device for kids. We’ll come back to provide more updates since my kid only has it for a week.

I have a Fitbit tracker and my son saw how involved I was in tracking my daily steps and staying active. He wanted to compete with me but I couldn't really find something in the Fitbit that worked for him. This Garmin doesn't have to be constantly recharged like my fitbit, it handles water much better and keeps my son active in competition with me for daily steps even thought the Garmin and Fitbit run on separate apps. The only downfall was after 5 months the band broke and we had to order a new one. Costs about 20 on Amazon so getting a new band as opposed to a new Garmin was the way to go. Overall a great buy and love to see how excited my son is about exercise and healthy competition.

I opted to get different bands because my children are a little older (8,9,11). They don’t look too childish and they were genuinely excited to compete with one another, immediately going outside to get the most steps. Having the timer has been really helpful with screen time and for teeth brushing. This is a great product and I would definitely recommend it to others.

Being a Garmin family it was only a matter of time before our children got one. Key thing first was for the little ones had to tell the time using an analogue clock/watch first. This one was for our six year old daughter and she loves it and the app you can use to track your activity. The app can also be used to get the kids to do chores for rewards. That helps a lot. My daughter is active and now doing chores without being asked several times

Controlling my kids with an app!

I knew Garmin was on to something when my kids chased me down to tell me they had done their chores. I knew we were in good shape when I walked in on them brushing their teeth with one hand and staring at the tooth-brushing timer on the other. Great functionality for the kids (timers, step count, coin count, etc.) and simple controls for parents via the app. I won't review the app here but do appreciate the activity trackers' ability to pair with two parents' phones. So far so good. Only had one display issue that was quickly resolved by syncing data with my phone.

My daughter absolutely loves this tracker. I have tried other trackers in the past but this one she refuses to take off. It also has an app that you can add daily chores and if she completes the chores, I give her coins that she can spend toward fun rewards. She also shows me every night how much steps she has taken. The only downside is that you cannot customize the band if the child has a bigger wrist.

The activity tracker is motivating my grandson to be even more active than before by counting all of his steps. I also get to see that he's sleeping better through the night.

I quickly read the specs of this product just before buying it, that was a mistake...it might be good for kids but not good enough for an adult, my wife bought it for her but the wristband was too tight. Also be aware that it uses a non rechargeable battery, so once it does you need to buy a new battery.

This is a very good product for a 6 to 10-year-old. It gets them motivated to get off their bottoms and move around the house and to play and count their steps and calories. It is a little small so if your daughter or son has ace large wrist may be tight on them

Having had a Fitbit myself, I actually prefer the Garmin. Purchased for my 8 year old who loves it. Great bc it tracks her activities, can be worn in the pool! Uploads tracking to the Garmin app, functions as a watch, tracks sleep and more. Well worth the price and no learning curve to use for a child.

It keeps you active, if you heed the warnings, lol. Truly, I didn't realize how inactive we were but being able to track it helps plenty. The wristband is small for my above average sized kid, but we were able to to use a vivofit 3 wristband as the device pops out of the band that comes with it.

I bought this for my 8 year old daughter, who wanted a FitBit. I knew a FitBit wouldn't fit her wrist. I love this product and the app that goes with it. It tracks her steps, her activity, and her sleep (both light and deep sleep), which I really like. I also really like how you can put chores in there.

We bought this for my 7yr Old, who had been asking for a watch. We love that she can not only use it as such, but also set timers for teeth brushing, count her steps throughout the day, and earn “coins” for doing chores around the house. Would definitely recommend this product!
