They also appreciate the activity tracking feature and the onboard music storage. While some users wish it was smaller in size, overall, customers are pleased with the watch's screen, GPS tracking, and ease of use.

Good watch in terms of functionality, but has some major issues.
My watch died after 1.5 years, and I had to go to Garmin's support website to get it replaced. Garmin acknowledged the fact that many people had issues with this watch model, and so my replacement was for free instead of the usual $150.
Pros:
- Super accurate heart rate tracking.
- Looks good.
- Screen is very readable in harsh sun.
- Lots and lots of activities can be recorded.
- Decent build quality.
- Replacement has much better and accurate GPS tracking. Old one was more wonky and the GPS jumped a couple meters here and there.
- Battery life is approx. 4 days, or about 15 hours of continuous GPS tracked activity.
Cons:
- Strap it comes with is bad, allows water to sit on my wrist, and gave me rashes.
- No Hike activity!!! Cmon Garmin! I have to track my hikes with "Walking" and then change the activity type in the app!
- No maps.
- Screen scratches easily. (I use a protector)
- Battery quality is poor, and I'm not expecting my replacement to last more than 1.5 more years.
- Tough to use touch screen when wet (like when swimming or sweating profusely). This is an advantage of watches that are buttons-only.

Far better than the vivoactive 3

This is my third Garmin smartwatch and by far my favorite. The things I like about the watch above the vivoactive 3 are:
1. the band is wider and more comfortable
2. better battery life
3. larger screen (non S version)
4. added biking features like support of the rear radar
5. pulse oximeter
6. swipe shortcut to a widget
7. two buttons for more obvious operation
8. it charges very quickly
Overall this was a good upgrade. I like the size of the watch, I have relatively small wrists, but the full-sized version fits nicely on my wrist. I wear this watch virtually 24x7 except for showers and while charging. I find this band to be particularly comfortable for that round-the-clock use.

Excellent value for the $
I replaced my VivoActive3 with the VivoActive4 at the start of the new year (2022) & I am extremely pleased with the Garmin VivoActive4.
I like the larger watch face, the added music storage capabilities and the PO2 features ALOT with the same GARMIN reliability and support I have become accustomed to from Garmin products ( I own a number of them)
I have also used the Samsung Start watch product offerings over the years however I found Samsung's customer service POOR and their product offerings to be problematic. AS a result, I went back to GARMIN for their product reliability and support and corrected my "SAMJUNK" mistake.
Pictures shown are the same VivoActive4 with the FOSSIL Gunmetal Mesh Watch Band & Fossil Brown Leather band for dress up, Fossil's Green stripped & Orange stripped Silicone Bands and the original solid black Garmin band ALL with the ability to quickly change bands makes my VivoActive4 the watch for ALL occasions.

Has all the features you could ever want or need in an activity watch at a great price. I have had the previous generations of this watch and it keeps improving with each year. Body battery, respiration levels are 2 new features that are very useful.

Garmin, a quality brand you can trust. It's a 33mm fiber-reinforced polymer and silicone band. Come slated with a black case. Overall, this smartwatch is pretty good for those who do a lot of activities. Designed for those who likes to work out a lot. There are so many activities- swimming, biking, running, etc. Also, keep tracks of your heart rate, stress rate, etc.

Amazing Smart Watch, Everything I wanted and more

After 2 weeks with this watch I am beyond thrilled with my purchase. Love the workout options, on board music, sleep analysis, Garmin app on my phone, stellar battery life, and tons of other bells and whistles I didn't even know I wanted. I had the Fitbit Ionic for 2.5 years and was always waiting for them to step up their smart features, especially their golf app. When my Ionic broke due to spontaneous waterproof failure I searched high and low for a replacement. The Apple Watch may be awesome, but it's battery life is awful. This watch is sporty enough for the gym, classy enough for work or a date, and simple enough with two buttons and a touch screen to not be obnoxious. I have banged it on walls and railings a few times and no marks to be seen; I appreciate the anti-scratch Gorilla glass. I love the golf app and didn't need to buy the $500 Garmin S62. I can get 2-3 rounds of golf in before a recharge, and about 5 days of battery with daily workouts. I can't recommend this watch enough. I don't need an amoled or retina screen and I don't need to text on my phone, or talk into my watch for calls. I actually really appreciate the toned down, low brightness but always on display. I will update this if anything changes, but there are still a ton of options and things this beast can do that I haven't even seen yet.

Love the product, especially the stats for fitness tracking. The display is gorgeous and the battery life is the icing on top! Only complaint is the buggy method of adding podcasts to the watch’s storage to listen to while going for a run. It works, but just takes more effort than needed with synchronization issues. Not a garmin venu specific problem, more just a garmin issue.

I highly recommend this product. Battery life has been superb, the screen is bright and responsive and GPS is accurate. The ability to sync/download spotify playlists to the watch is also great. Ive gotten lots of compliments already, and I'm glad it has interchangeable straps so I can change them out based on the occasion.
We'll see how long it holds up long term but so far I'm happy.
One note as I'm writing this, Garmin servers are down and have been for several days due to being hacked. This has limited my ability to sync, set alarms, and view my history. They havent communicated anything about it yet, but I'd see how it plays out befofe purchasing

Coming from a samsung, this is ijust needed. So far im not into all the workout apps it has. I am a ups driver and i cant look or be on my phone while driving so with this i can see who is calling or messaging me. Also i like to look at my steps, heart rate, stair climbs and all that good stuff. I couldnt be more pleased with my first garmin. Also for the price it was a better option than a samsung. The battery is great i dont have to charge everyday.

I like this for several reasons but unfortunately if I had to do it over again I probably wouldn't buy it.
I only need to recognize my activities and my sleep which my apple watch could not do because it needs to constantly be charging after a days wear. The batter life on this is several days which is good but the Garmin only style charger is the drawback. Heck that is the drawback to all these watches. They need to start using USB-c or wireless charging.
The other thing I dislike is unlike my fitbit which recognizes all my sleeping patterns and naps throughout the day, this thing will only register my sleep at night. So if I take a power nap for several hours in the day while I put my kid into his daily nap, it does not recognize it.
Also, the settings are too advance for me. I can't for the life of me figure out how to make the screen auto light up when I look at it anymore. Sucky thing is, it keeps lighting up when I lay down randomly to sleep so the light bothers me when I am trying to get some zzz's.
One good thing going for it is the durability of the screen face. So far I have only had light scratches to it. The wrist wrap is also pretty durable unlike my fitbit that was destroyed after a year. The fitbit still worked but without the wristband, it was pretty useless. It broke the part where the wristband connected to so changing wristbands wasn't going to fix that problem in case someone reading this might be wondering why I didn't just change out the wristbands.

Solid watch

I’ve had multiple smart watches, but I feel like the Vivoactive 4 is a solid mesh of features and durability. I’ve had the instinct/solar, Amazfit T REX pro, Series 6 Apple Watch, and an Apple Watch SE. The instinct series was super durable but lacked some features like onboard storage and the screen wasn’t all that great. T REX Pro was the same thing. The screen was great, tracking was on par, but the always on display lacked brightness due to the AMOLED panel and you couldn’t do two things simultaneously. Like have music controls and the timer running. The Apple watches are awesome. But not durable. More like an office wear watch. Definitely not for a down in the dirt job. Some may say otherwise but that’s my opinion. The Vivoactive 4 has onboard storage for music. More robust than an Apple Watch, heck with a screen protector from Amazon you’re in business. It has garmin pay ability. Battery life is awesome compared to other smart watches. About 6 days. The screen is perfect for a job outdoors. No backlight needed. It’s an always on display. This watch is a solid 5 stars.

I have two of these. One for me and one for my father. They are great! I really like the fact they allow me to store music in the watch so I don't have to bring my phone when I go running. It also has a battery life of a week and super convenient to use

I had the Samsung galaxy frontier since 2018. It was a great watch at the time. But I wanted to upgrade my fitness watch that was just a fitness watch and not something that will keep me connected with everything at all times. Plus the battery life wasn't great. I did my research for a new fitness watch for two months. I came across the vivoactive 4 and what caught my eye was 1. the battery life. States it can last 8 days but also depends what you have running and what you use it for. I can get 3 days which is a lot better then my last watch. 2. It has workouts you can do on the app and transfer to your watch. It's easy to navigate. The display probably isn't as clean as other fitness watches but I like it. The garmin connect IQ app where you download apps and watch faces isn't as clean and there aren't many watch faces but the garmin connect app that syncs to your watch to display your day is clean and easy to navigate. It is also comfortable to wear to bed.
When doing workouts the vivoactive 4 is pretty good at counting reps but there are times you will have to edit the amount of reps you do since it will miss some reps. Overall still a good watch.
If you just want a good fitness watch that tracks your daily workouts, steps, stairs, hydration and last a good amount of days then this is the watch to consider. It's not LTE but you don't need it.

Originally tried a Fitbit Charge 5 and quickly exchanged it for this Garmin vivoactive 4. Really like this watch a lot. Works seamlessly right out of the box. Easy to register and sync with the app. Operation is intuitive for me. I can readily find what I need or activity to start or program it to start automatically. I can find metrics quickly to check in with my health status or "body battery". Metrics appear fairly accurate when compared to my other Garmin Forerunner 235. The app is informative and supplies the data I'm looking for. The watch looks conservative and is comfortable to wear including at night which was an issue for me with the Fitbit. This is a really nice mid range watch that satisfies my needs.
