I had the Vivosmart 4 for probably 3 years and it was starting to get worn. The 5 came out so I bought. The price made m hesitate a little bit , but then I realized you don't have the subscription fees that Fitbit and others are rolling out to access features. So it's cheaper in the long run. The accuracy seems to be pretty good and battery life is excellent. I got the watch on Wednesday and I'm at 26% as of Sunday mid morning with sleep tracking on. I wish they had other bands available since they are swappable. Screen is sharp and watch is light weight. I love the physical button as opposed to the old touch button.

I've used the watch for just over 1 year. Previously had an honor band 3. Since this watch was a similar size I really hoped it would be an upgrade but it's not.
First, the watch is pretty much useless unless you constantly have it connected to your phone via Bluetooth.
Clock: This is accurate as long as you have it connected to your phone because that's where it's pulling its data from.
Steps: Fairly accurate. However I use the feature where it auto starts fitness tracking if I walk for more than 5 minutes. That doesn't always work as it doesn't always detect it correctly. Its also suppose to auto stop the workout after 1 minute but its hit or miss. For example I jump in the car after a walk and it thinks I'm walking 50 miles an hour. The Honor band would have stopped my workout instantly if it detected that. Also when in fitness tracking mode you're very limited on what you can do on the watch. All you can see is the time and how long you been working out for. You can't reach any of the other functions like heart rate which is very annoying.
Heart rate: Totally inaccurate. During a hard workout it says I'm hovering between 58 and 80. When in reality I'm in the 160 to 170 range. Usually after 30 minutes of a workout it will tell me that my heart rate is somewhere around 110 but that is also completely inaccurate. Very rarely did it actually work properly. I followed all instructions, even resetting the watch once a week which the manual says you're supposed to do which is a dead giveaway that this watch is not very good.
Sleep: Semi accurate. For the most part it does track your sleep somewhat accurately but sometimes it's wildly off, for example I says I went to sleep hours before I actually did or went to sleep hours after I actually did. It does not track napping.
O2: inaccurate. I went to the doctor and they told me a normal person's O2 level should be around 98 or higher This watch tells me my 02 level is 88 to 92 so I should be in the hospital.
Conclusion: I had high hopes for this watch but it's just not accurate. None of their software updates have helped, in fact frequently it made it worse.
If you're experiencing an issue with your watch, please go to support.garmin.com where you'll find many helpful FAQ's and video's on the functions of the device. If you still need assistance you can reach out directly to a product support associate. The fit of the band can determine if you are wearing properly to get good heart rate data. As well, the watch is not designed to record nap data.

Better than I expected, but could be better.

I kept reading about problems with the battery life on these, but they turned out to last five days or more following the tips in the manual.
One problem I have with it is the SpOx measurement while sleeping. The pulsing light is bright enough to wake me up, and I had to shut off that option. Also note that the "Large" is for wrist sizes of 6 to 10 inches! Apparently, men's wrists can get that large, but I find it hard to imagine.
My main problem is with the interface, which is surprisingly complicated for a first-time user of a fitness tracker like myself. It took a few days of studying the manual to figure out where everything was, and the functions aren't in the most obvious places. For example, to change the screens available, one has to use the Garmin Connect app, select devices, select the tracker, and then select "Appearance" then "change widgets."

Absolutely terrific. I bought this watch for my little one to count steps, monitor sleep and help him track tasks to do. It is very simple to use and the Garmin Jr. app is very easy to use as well. It is also very convenient not to have to charge the watch, a year later and the battery is still going strong.

I surprised my husband with this tracker to replace a Fitbit. He doesn’t want a large watch. It’s perfect for him! His only interest is telling time and temperature! He likes that it’s set to turn on the screen when he lifts his wrist and that he can wear it in the water and the charge lasts about a week. Fall detection is another feature that appealed to me when selecting this tracker.

Had the vivosmart 4, upgraded to 5 - no issues. Works just fine for me. No issues with broken band or poor battery life as mentioned in other reveiws. Do miss the fact that it doesn't track stairs, but all other features are fine.

Nice, inexpensive tracker. Although expected when I purchased, the screen readout is a bit small, and somewhat a pain to cycle through and read. It also seems to be a bit more fragile than I’d like, but I tend to be a bit more rougher on my watches - so that may not apply to everyone.
The fitness tracking seems to be accurate and consistent and the Garmin app is a great, well thought out app.

The tracker is all that I need. First of all, there's no subscription to use the app. It records my calories, steps, heart rate, and more.
I wear this around my right ankle. My ankle is roughly 9 inches around. If you got larger ankles, I suggest that larger strap.
I charge this about once a week though it can last longer than that (at least mine can).

For those of you that care, YES you can turn bluetooth off on the device itself. I leave it off full time and sync it every couple days. This was a great purchase. Tracks all the things you could want and has an excellent battery life, usually 5-7 days and I could probably go longer. Has a lot more functions and customization than I anticipated.

This is the second one I've bought. I originally purchased one for help with sleep tracking. It's also compatible with Android phones and my Garmin bicycle computer. Helps with step tracking and other fitness goals. It works better than a fitbit.
