This is an amazing product! It's very easy to install and use. Secures nicely to the flash. Quality durable "rubberized" material. Compact and lightweight. Folds down to the size of a bagel. Actual use: Amazingly even and soft light distribution. When used with the dome attached it makes a great softbox. When the dome isn't used it allows for bounce flash through to opening on top. It juse makes the flash's light so appealing. No harsh blown out areas on faces when used for portraits.

It's great as it spreads light everywhere. Good for when you can't use bounce. Tends to be heavy on my bower external flash which results in the flash not staying straight up. Other than that no complaints. Great for lighting up the world

This lightsphere isn't that effective. It works just as well as a paper cup or anything else that is white. The only pro is that I got this on sale. Other than that, I don't think this should be purchased for full price

The most useful side of this product is for taking close range photographs, which help diffuse the light and prevents the hard light on clients faces. the removable top of the lightsphere help in situations where the ceiling is tall and doesn't allow the light to bounce off.

It does as stated where it diffuses the light very well but the new attachment to the flash tend to allow it to fall off ... so you must remain vigilant and make sure you tighten the band on it very well

This is my second Gary Fong Lightsphere this is to replace the original that I lost during an event I was covering. The reason I lost it was somewhat my fault, in a sense that I was walking thru a crowded venue and it slipped right off after some contact with people and holding the camera in its sling holster. This would be the only thing I don't like about it. It slips off if you don't tighten the velcro enough as well the dome would pop off. But I think this is more the users fault than the product defects.I received the replacement and the dome fit tighter than the first one. I would have rated it a 4 to 4.5 but I felt the pros overweighed the cons. I have seen some other photographers use it without the dome. The costs is a little up there in comparison to cheaper $10 to $20 diffusers. However, I've notice the difference when I'm shooting in low light, indoor venues the dome makes the difference, wish they would include a carrying bag as I have to put mine in a ziplock bag so I don't misplace the pieces it comes with. I would highly recommend this Gary Fong even if it has those problems mentioned but I feel that maybe I could have avoided.

I have used several light duffusers in the past. When I came upon an article about the Gary Fong diffuser I just had to get it. I couldn't find the Gary Fong diffuser on sale anywhere, but with My Best Buy Rewards it was like getting it on sale. It works awesome for indoor photography. I lights the subjects just right!!!!!

...interferes with tilt/swivel and is just obtrusive. Make me a JUNIOR version with the same fastening system and I'll try again. Otherwise this is going in a drawer. Not bag friendly either, even collapsed.

I just added the Gary Fong Lightsphere to my professional arsenal of lighting equipment that I use on location. It has now replaced my Nikon Flash diffuser dome for most on camera flash situations. Love the light that the Lightsphere creates.

I use this with the canon 430 ex ii and have definitely noticed that the light is diffused better and subjects are more warmly lit with less harsh lighting. It does take a couple of minutes to set up for each use, but the results are worth it.
