    Haul Away was Impossible to get Sorted

    Best Buy needs to heavily look into their multi-step installation process. I chose to buy and install a new washer and dryer tower from Best Buy thinking it would be the most straight forward option to have everything coordinated professional, including having my old broken units hauled away. In store the associate went through everything and I walked out paying for the works. I purchased the units, paid for an install, and for the haul-away addon. My tower arrived by delivery in two pieces (wash and dryer) without the tower being assembled. This created the first problem, when my installer arrived, he said "Never in my career have I seen the delivery crew not put it together", and said they couldn't do my installation that day because the tower was in two pieces. Okay. I would have to reschedule. Next I asked if he could at least unhook my old unit and do my haul-away. "That's not on my order today." But I didn't have a third appointment for haul-away, so this was clearly a mistake and my haul away didn't seem to be scheduled. Best Buy had to 'return' my stack and deliver a new one. Which still came in two pieces, but this time, the delivery guys just put it together no problem. Great. I asked if they were doing the haul away, because the haul-away was schedule in the Best Buy website for that day. "Nope, we're not licensed to turn off the gas and unhook it." So I assumed the installation professional would also be handling the haul-away the next day. This was not the case, they repeated that it wasn't on their order for that day and that they didn't have a truck for it (they had a mid-sized moving van so I wasn't sure what they meant). So after a full return and reschedule installation, I had my new laundry installed, but my old one was still sitting on my second story in the middle of my tight hallway (where I carry my toddler back and forth, which was now disgustugin). It was about three weeks of back-and-forth at this point. In the middle of this second back-and-forth I had called and spoken with an associate on the phone, saying that the order looked wrong and that the day my haul away was supposed to happen, no one came nor call. So I schedule it for another day completely by itself. They gave me a date and assured me someone would call me. To my later disappointment, I didn't ask for an order number. No one called me. I received no email. No one arrived. I called for FOURTH time, stating that my haul away had not happened. I provided them the order # of my SECOND order (which was all listed as $0 because it was a return + reinstall for the mishaps of the first order, my receipt, which had my original payment on it). When on the phone this fourth time the associate told me two things: 1) Despite ordering a tower unit ("one appliance), my old haul away would be two appliances because I had both a washer and a dryer (although they were on top of one another, they were separate appliances), which I would have to pay an additional haul away for. 2) My last haul away "was booked but not invoiced", and I would also have to pay for THAT one. I reiterated to them that there was nothing 'not invoiced', that my order number had it for free because it was a correction for my initial sale in which they had failed to install and pick up my units. At this point I had my old units unplugged sitting in my hallway for about two weeks. They were dusty, filthy, and had fray shavings over various things just sitting as they were left when first unplugged. Again in a tight space where I needed to carry my toddler through. I did my best to clean this up in the interim but ultimately... To summarize: 1) My first order tried to get my installation people to 'stack' my tower despite being told by install people that the delivery folks were supposed to stack it. 2) I couldn't get a haul away completed until after FOUR attempts. 3) So many orders and schedules ran by that they insisted trying to charge me for haul away AGAIN (and missed the fact that the first sale would 'require two appliances') and I ended up having to call multiple times to get it resolved and scheduled without additional fee. I couldn't believe it. I had chosen Best Buy because I wanted things handled by a professional and sorted system for scale, but in reality, it seemed like Best Buy had contracted out to multiple different parties, none of whom gave a crap when the other didn't do every step exactly right.     Jared and his associate from Quality Kitchens did an excellent job delivering and installing our Washer-Dryer combo. In fact, this was best installment experience we've had in 20 years of replacing major appliances.

    Excellent laundry unit! Had a similar model which broke down and hence this newer and upgraded model. Happy so far!

    The guys were great and friendly, I did notice a gas leak after they left and had them come out 4 days later to fix it.

    showed up as scheduled, were polite and efficient, my only complaint is that they did not make to exhaust connection shorter and easy to attach if the unit was moved, overall better than anticipated

    They scheduled and rescheduled of the six appointments they brought a broken machine, the installer showed up at the machine did not, they didn’t show up at all and didn’t call they brought a dented machine, the machine had problems and then they didn’t show up at all and didn’t call. And one time a plumber showed up for an hour to prove that the machine was broken. I told them not to show up anymore I was exhausted of six times waiting about five hours each. I don’t normally get up at 6:30 in the morning but they only had morning appointments. No one who came actually understood how the machine worked and could answer my questions I got wrong information the manual had wrong information in it. You have to babysit this machine it has four cycles you have to do once a month to keep it clean so it won’t ruin your clothes, then on the phone they told me it was one special cycle with special detergent or your clothes would turn black or green or they continue to set appointments for me even though I told them not to they told me they were coming on Saturday mornings that I never agreed to their cancel button didn’t work they sent me literally 50 texts and 50 emails all about appointments and problems and yet they did not fix anything. Most of the people are very nice but they don’t know what they need to know to do the job. The machine I got has only certain cycles and you can’t do what you want do you have to go sign up on the Internet to get the pre-wash cycle. You have to dry your clothes on hot unless you choose a delicate cycle most of the time you can’t get into your clothes and you can’t stop and add clothes without knowing the secret to draining the tub or you have to wait eight minutes which they don’t really tell you. If you don’t dry out the deep rubber tubing each time they guarantee you it will mold in your clothes will smell bad. I paid for the total tech to make things easier and all they did was call me 1 million times and text me and email me constantly contradicting themselves. I had no laundry for a month during which time they left the tower in the middle of my kitchen so I could barely open my refrigerator door.  They seem to be very used to things going wrong. They were not surprised to hear that people just didn’t show up and didn’t call after waking me up early in the morning for an appointment I didn’t really want from 7 to 1pm the morning. I was on the phone so many times with them and at my house waiting for appointments but if I had a job I would have lost it six times over.

    Best Buy resolved the issue! I reported in a review that I was upset when I was told at the installation of a washer/dryer combo in my home that it was going to cost me an additional $225 to upgrade my plumbing to accommodate the new appliance. After submitting the review, Best Buy contacted me and apologized for not having properly trained their sales people in providing information that older homes may need to be upgraded then went the added measure of crediting my card the amount plus a little extra. That was totally unexpected. Thank you Best Buy.

    Two gentlemen came for the installation. The space for the laundry tower was pretty tight and we didn’t think they’d be able to get it in there. They forwarded us that the installation may take a little longer than usual due to the tight spacing, and that the door frame may get a little scraped up. They did a fantastic job with very minimal scuffing to the door frame paint. They made sure the unit worked and showed us how to use it. One of the better installation experiences I’ve had with Best Buy.

    Installation was efficient and done with care! Jeremiah and Darren worked as a team - old appliances out, new one in and connected and tested. Clean up was done and I felt they were a very responsible and knowledgeable team. Thank you!

    The 2 Delivery and Installation technicians we're Great!..They had a small amount of space to maneuver thru the house to bring the washing machine unit into the basement and they went above and beyond to make it happen all while being careful of the furniture around house..Once they got it in the spot they even cleaned the area before installing it..Very professional and I was very happy with the delivery experience!

    There was poor communication regarding the steps I needed to take for this installation to happen. Two separate appointments are needed, what needs to be done prior to appt one, etc. When calling the geek squad for clarification they were unable to provide more information. This purchase was all done online. I would recommend purchasing in person, even if you think you know what you want/need.

    Best Buy said I’d have to purchase a new gas line, water lines and dry vent line to have this system installed, which I did. The install crew used all of my original parts and didn’t tell me until I inspected and discovered old stuff. When the install crew tested my washing machine they forgot to put the drain hose in the drain pipe. Water everywhere! Well, I usually do all my own work. Now I will. Washer and dryer work fine.

    First set was damaged but Best Buy stood behind the product and delivered a replacement within one week. All in one washer dryer has been working great and it looks fabulous…love the space saving design. Clothes are clean, dryer is efficient.
