    GREAT Black Friday Deal!!!

I bought my Gateway Netbook on Black Friday for $150!! I have a Gateway laptop and LOVE it so I'm sticking with Gateway! The netbook is small and perfect for me. I work full-time, attend school full-time and perform hundreds of hours of clinical experience. I bought a Netbook instead of carrying my laptop with me everywhere. This Netbook fits in my purse! It's a great size and works pretty fast for it's speed/HD/memory amount. This is NOT something you'd use everyday as it is slow to load large documents (PowerPoints depending on what you have included on the slides), and websites like Facebook, etc. The netbook does come with a starter addition of software but it wants you to pay and download the full versions. If you're a student or know a student, have them get you their discount on software. You can get the software in a UDS flashdrive for a one-time installation. However, what they include is sutable for me, I won't be buying the full version. NOTE: This netbook does NOT have a disc drive. You have a number of USB ports but that is it. The battery does last a long time. I charged mine 100% before I used it hte first time. The only thing that is frustrating is you get ONE warning that the battery is low. Even when you thnk you have 10 more minutes, you do't and it will suddenly turn off. Not a big issue, but the first time it happened I wasn't too thrilled. Otherwise the battery DOES last a long time. The design is sleek, it is thin when closed and doesn't weigh much. I am VERY satisfied with this purchase, especially at the steal of a price I got it fr!! It does come in other colors... I saw it at Walmart in purple, and the box also shows it in silver. The black is sharp!!!!

Bought this based on the Black Friday ad. I needed something small and quick to diagnose internet connections via Ethernet connection. Pros: Quality for price Lightweight Did I mention price? Cons: Not the fastest (but I wasn't expecting it to be an i7) Low resolution (I don't care) Jitters a little in audio (music) when scrolling in internet browsing I've had it on for only an hour but can honestly say nothing should go wrong. There have been no mechanical or cosmetic flaws yet. I'm very satisfied with my purchase so far. Perfect for being a student.

I am not reviewing just because of the black Friday sale. I bought this netbook from best buy last Saturday. If it was listed for the 150 when I bought it I'd probably be less annoyed by all the returns. First Issue: Dead pixels out of the box...Returned 30 minutes after opening second issue: Mouse pad stopped working two day later. I then returned it for good, only because I found i for a lower price else where...now I'm using a usb mouse because the mouse pad stopped working again and I have to wait until after black friday to attempt to exchange this netbook. It works well other wise, It's pretty fast internet wise on wifi & wired. It does start to slow down once you mutitak. I'm a student so I tend to browse the web have word open and listening to music all at the same time, I'm sure a upgrade to 2gb might fix that. FYI speakers on this badboy SUCK. Get some good headphones. Love the size I loose it in between my notebooks and papers in my bag. Very stylish design, but buy a case it scratches very eaisly.. battery power is about 3-4 hours.. For 150 maybe the headache is work the price....maybe I just got all THREE bad apples :( goodluck all!

    Great Little Net Book

Initially purchased 6 of these to donate as a portable computer lab to a local school. Perfect. Small, lightweight, great battery life. The shiny finish is a finger print and scratch magnet but they are budget netbooks. Another school asked that I help set up a similar lab for them and we did the same thing again. This was a few months back and at the time they were $50 more than they are now. Pluses include Office Starter Edition. They do have low resolution display (1028 x 600 max) but for the price, this is not bad. Remove the Norton Antivirus bloatware and install something less resource intensi ve and you are good to go. Perfect starter computer for any kid except for the next Steve Jobs computer prodigy as long as they understand its an email and paper writing netbook, not a gaming or development laptop.

Good value for basic web surfing.

I bought this computer on the Black Friday sale for $160. It comes with 1GB of memory, which proves to be very slow. I upgraded the memory myself to 2GB for about $15. It now runs very quickly, and is quite usable for surfing the web, facebook, etc. I also run Office 2010 on it, and it runs fine. I would not recommend for extensive gaming or memory intensive applications. The included case is a nice touch. I wish I had bought a few more at the Black Friday sale price. i think the regular price is a bit much for what you get. At the regular price, I would look into other models.

    2 gig would be better

If I had a complaint it would be the 1 gig limit on RAM. Would it have killed Gateway to make it an option. Other than that I could't be happier with it. Took it to Win 7 Ultimate and can do everything that my better equipped computers can (one app at a time). Sits nicely on my lap while watching TV and is easily transportable for internet and email. Most fun was when my sister-in-law used it and asked my brother why he didn't get one of these instead of an IPAD.

The Product cosmetic looks is AWSOME but the processing futures are like having an old 486 CPU too too slow also the wifi signal used to be very minimal even at close range.......Also the graphics was intermitent <Flashy> and the video accelaration was very poor even with Low res videos in HD was pause and go even downloading the latest flash player.

I paid $149.99 on black Friday and it is awesome. It is portable and does more than kindles and ipads. I was on a flight and the guy next to me was trying to look up information on his next flight on a kindle. I connected to the wireless on the flight, had looked up my information, and started surfing the web and he was still trying to log in. I added portable speakers for louder sound and it's great.

    Very Basic, Very Slow

Got this for my FIL, for basic needs - mail, skype, photos, songs and portability. Met all my needs and at a jaw dropping price. But is extremely slow and definitely not meant for even basic multitasking. Store pickup was painful, but then it was Thanksgiving time and will excuse on that ground.

Bought this for my son for school and he loves it. I have the hp version and have to say I would have bought this for myself. I would recommend upgrading the RAM to 2 gb. Easy and you can do it yourself did it with my hp takes about 2 minutes. you can't go wrong for 150 dollar computer.
