Customers consistently note the excellent oven performance, particularly praising the convection feature and quick preheating. The ease of use is another frequently cited positive aspect. Many appreciate the stylish design and appearance of the range. However, some users mention that the stainless steel surface is prone to scratching.

Amazing Gas Range

This range has everything I wanted. The tri-ring burners is great. You can go from a very high heat down to a low simmer without moving the pan. The center burner is very handy. It's nice to have a smaller burner that isn't clear in the back. Change the grate out for the griddle or grill and you have a huge, integrated cooking surface. Compared to my previous Samsung range, this area is far superior. First, that burner was only oval and couldn't be round. That stove only had a griddle that was non-stick aluminum. This range comes with a seasoned stainless griddle/grill. I used it to make paninis. Cheese easily came off the cast iron. The edge to edge cooktop feels much larger than other 30" ranges I have used.
The oven heats very fast and seems to work very well. I checked the temperature with my oven thermometer and it seems fairly close. The oven does let you put an offset to correct the calibration as well which is a nice touch. I also love the appearance of this stove. The cook top looks higher end than my Samsung. The knobs are very heavy, solid stainless. The display has a nice feel as well although it attracts fingerprints. Wifi connectivity is a nice touch. It took some work to set it up but works well. You have to remember to press the remote enable button after every use to turn the oven on remotely which is for safety but is mildly annoying.
The only complaints I have so far are a little nit-picky. First, the burner caps don't all match. The tri-ring burner caps are heavy cast iron where the others are all painted a dark grey and feel a little cheap by comparison. They match what was on my Samsung though. I wish they were all cast iron. Also, the vent at the rear of the cooktop is painted in this same dark grey. I would prefer it to be stainless because the color slightly clashes with the cast iron cooking grates. The relays on the oven are rather loud. When in convection mode, you hear a loud click every time the fan kicks on and off. It's not terrible but definitely louder than my old Samsung. There is a fan that blows air out of the top right side of the cooktop when baking. This is not the convection fan and appears to be used to cool components outside of the oven. The fan is louder than I would expect. Again, not terrible yet it is unexpected. My Samsung did not have this. The non-stick coating on the oven and racks makes the racks not slide very well. There is an optional ball-bearing slide out rack that I may look into purchasing although it is rather expensive. I have also read there is a graphite based lubricant you can add although I am not sure if that is for the ball bearing slides or the stationary racks.
Some additional notes: My counter opening was about 1/8" shy of 30" and the range fit snugly. My counters are about 36.375" tall although the wood counter on the one side is slightly warped and goes a little higher. Another deciding factor for this range was that it didn't overlap the counters like many other slide-in ranges. I don't think the trim kit is necessary. I thoroughly researched ranges and was between the Samsung slide-in and this one. The lack of overhang and the intergrated griddle were my deciding factors and I can say the edge to edge cook top and built in griddle are a huge upgrade over other 30" gas ranges I have used.

This model replaces our electric smooth top GE Profile range which finally started giving out after 22 years. The stainless cook top is easy to keep clean and washer friendly. The three racks in the oven is perfect for multiple baking sheets, and the self cleaning with steam is genius. This is our first gas range and are super in love with it. We specifically wanted a drawer to store baking and broiling sheets and pans, and this one has decent capacity. Broil requires keeping the door closed (new to us) and the heat escapes out the back side which is fine since our fan/vent is above the unit. The LCD oven controls remain dark with the clock feature when inactive and oven options/controls display upon touch. Intuitive controls. Easy to clean.
Downsides for us: The heat escape in the back did extend the unit about 2 inches more forward than our previous unit. Our old unit was a custom fit with our counters which are higher than normal which left us with a 1/4 inch gap on both sides and about a half inch in the back that had to remain open for venting.
Overall: We've found GE to solid with regards to their ranges/ovens. This unit has been everything we hoped for and love the overall appearance, operation, and reliability. It also connects to Wi-Fi.

Good looking addition to any kitchen along with the GE overhead fan. I tried every possible to pair them using the WiFi. I finally gave up. The 1800#, no help!. Looks great. That’s all.

Overall, we are happy with our new GE profile series PGS930SELSS gas range.
The Pros:
We have made successful use of the reversible griddle that comes with the unit. We used the ridged side for impossible burgers and the flat side for pancakes, and both were delicious!
Because this is a slide-in and not a freestanding model, the cook top has a bit more room, meaning cooking several items at the same time is a little easier. The center burner not only heats the griddle, but also provides a fifth simmer spot if you only use the center part. The stove top burners are much quieter than on the competitor’s model we replaced, and they are a tick or two more powerful. I am really enjoying how the extra heating capacity saves us time. For example, we are thrilled with the 21,000 BTU Tri-ring Burner that brings a large pot of water to a boil so much quicker than our old unit; and the oven preheats quickly.
A great new feature for us is connecting the oven to my cell phone via the optional app. I can be in another room and know when my oven is ready or when the timer is done.
One little feature I appreciate is the hooded design for the stove knobs, which makes it easier to clean splatter – you do not need to pull off the knobs as often to get to any grime behind them.
Now for the cons:
As other reviewers have mentioned, the unit scratches very easily almost everywhere, from the cook top to the inside of the oven door window. Our unit arrived with a 3x6 inch dent and scratch on the lower left corner of the side wall (outer side) and scratches already on the inside of the oven window. So far, the steel cook top cleans easily (except for the scratches), but we will see how pristine it remains after some harder use.
While the app notifications are nice, I wish the timer and preheat alarms were much louder – they are very faint, and you really need to be in the same room as the unit to hear them.
If I had this purchase decision to do over, if not for enjoying the extra cook top space, I might have gone with a freestanding model as opposed to slide-in. The vents at the rear are very exposed. Not only can they become very hot, but there is nothing to shield any spills or splatters from going right down into the vents. I hope this does not cause problems later, whether with pests finding grease or food in the vents attractive or with damage to whatever inner workings may be inside the unit below the vents.
There is almost no documentation – none comes with the unit except the installation guide, and the online user guide is itself very spare. For example, we discovered the oven vent fan remains on for a time after the oven is turned off. The fan eventually does turn off, but I could not find any documentation letting me know about this behavior. Someone could easily wonder whether their unit was broken.
It took a few tries to get the app set up. There are some smartphone settings that need to be adjusted in a very particular way to get it to work.
I would recommend this unit, but I would also warn buyers be ready to return / replace it if you really care about scratches.

Great gas range! Replaced an older electric stove with this awesome GE Profile unit. It looks great and works great. The wifi connection is a plus. It automatically registered the unit with GE. With the SmartHQ app I can also preheat the oven (Not the Burners) remotely and it will notify my when preheat is finished. Works with Amazon Alexa also. Bought as an open box unit for half price as well. Cant beat this deal with a stick! The only con is the lack of space behind the unit for the gas connection. I had to reroute my gas line because it was too high on the wall(18 inches from the floor). I ended up lowering it and installing an OxBox recessed supply box (Moved it down 9 inches). Took me half a day but in the end it was worth it.

Love my new GE Profile gas range. Outperforms my expectations. Super high BTU's make searing foods a joy. Didn't realize how badly my old stove was performing till I started noticing that the food comes to the table really hot. Awesome. Baked goods cook in less time and come out perfectly. I highly recommend this range. I do have one small caveat. There is a stainless steel plate in front of the burners and it scratches VERY easily. Not good engineering. But aside from that, it's perfect.

It’s all about the burners. The main burner (front left) is an absolute beast, and water for pasta dishes are brought to a boil so quickly. We have only used the oven a few times for either pizzas or baking brownies...definitely no complaints at this time.

This range performs well and looks great. Both oven and burners are so powerful, I didn't realize how terrible my old range/oven were performing until I started using this! It takes no time to boil a large pot for pasta! I will say when we first had the range installed the oven took a bit to light the first few times, and we had gas odors coming from it. We had the Best Buy technician out to check the installation and oven and since then have had no problems. Highly recommend. Looks great, and performs even better.

This is my first GE appliance and I was surprised at how high end it looks and operates. It pre-heats very quickly and cooks evenly. The downside is it makes a fan/ticking noise as it’s heating up, during baking and while it cools down. It’s annoying and disruptive if you’re hanging out in the kitchen. I would have thought twice about buying it if I knew about the noise. I

I am very happy with the ease of use, functionality and price point. It is a wonderful addition to our kitchen appliances. The cast iron middle grate is excellent! The digital display is excellent also. I've been wanting a stove like this for some time. Glad we made this purchase!

Originally went in to buy Samsung or LG oven. But after learning more about this GE Profile, It was a clear choice. Ceramic coated interior even the grill grates make it far easier to clean than the others we looked at. Higher BTU than those we compared, make it feel like we're cooking with professional appliance. Great overall value, also connect to app to let you know when oven is preheated or timer is done

Bought other GE Profile appliances from BB so wanted to replace the range when it came on sale. Bug improvement from old Profile Range that came with the house. Like it.
