The unit worked great and it did what it was supposed to, but then from one night to another the unit stopped working. I would have to unplug it reset it it will work for 45 minutes to an hour and then shut off, I noticed during that time though that it wasn’t really cleaning the air it was just on. So now basically I am forced to buy another unit.

I am amazed at how much water this dehumidifier extracts from the air! It is very humid in Hawaii! I have never owned a dehumidifier before, and i have lived here for 25 years. I'm very impressed with how well it works! It is a bit noisy, but not too bad. I like how you can set it to turn off automatically! The first 24 hours it collected about 10 gallons just running it in the master bedroom. I now just run it a few hours in the evening before going to bed. It holds 6.25 gallons and it usually fills up after 2 evenings. I water my plants with the water that is collected.

Great High Capacity Dehumidifier

Overall, this is a great dehumidifier. I have an unfinished basement roughly 1000 square feet. Once in a while, ground water gets through the foundation. This dehumidifier dries out the basement very quickly. My favorite feature is that I can attach a standard garden hose that leads to my utility sink and leave the dehumidifier on “Non-Stop” mode. Just make sure the hose is always flowing down. I don’t ever have to check & empty out the water. For a large space, this dehumidifier works wonders.

Ordered a NEW one and got a USED one. Works fine but a little noisy. I like settings where you can set it to run 2hours or 4 hours. It automatically shuts off when the bucket is full. The bucket fills up fast so I would suggest using the hose option. You’ll need to buy the hose separately.

Have to empty this twice a day in basement. Wish the reservoir was bigger but I got the one I wanted. There are ones with 14 liter tanks but didn't want to pay those prices. There's not a good way for me to drain this thing with a hose in my basement to the outside so it is what it is.

Lasted Only 13 Months. I Regret My Purchase.

Purchased this in April 2021 for use in my basement during the summer months. It stopped working in July of 2023. It will no longer run after the set humidity level is exceeded. It's useless now and I've only used it approximately 13 months in total (about 6 months each year). This was more expensive than competing brands and I bought it because I thought G.E. was a quality brand. I made a mistake. I do not recommend this model at all. I would not buy it if you are considering a new dehumidifier. I've researched my problem and found many others complaining about this exact same problem with G.E. dehumidifiers. Stay far away from this model and this brand!

hhhhmmmmm... This is a hard one to review.... Like soooo many others in these reviews, it looks like I too, received a MOLDY USED dehumidifier! What is up with Best Buy?!? I LOVE Best Buy and have never had a problem with products bought from them before, BUT REVIEWER after REVIEWER who purchased one of these online (they are not available in store in my area) has gotten a used unit!!! It works well and dried my carpet (room size 11' x 11') after a rain storm dripped water through our leaky roof fairly quickly. It seems like a nice product, but USED, really?!?

Received Used (Refurbished?) Equipment !!

Just received the shipment of my order of this GE Dehumidifier. Although the box looked fine (no apparent box damage), the item is clearly very used, possibly refurbished (unclear). The unit turned on and appears to be working at this point. (It is, however, very noisy, as others have noted in reviews. It may become less noisy if we tie bungy cords around it as others have suggested.) The nasty part of the delivery is that it is clearly quite used. Most of the core unit doesn't look too bad, but the plug has dirt all over it and lots of strange cuts on it (see photo submitted with this review), suggesting very extensive past use. I can't believe that BestBuy would try and pass off as new a unit that has been used to this degree. I am currently on chat trying to find out what they will do about it, and will update this review if there is a very satisfactory response. So far, they are saying I can return it in 15 days to a store or get a 10% discount. Not great options given the time it takes to return. So buyer beware.

Like a lot of the others, I ordered new and either got a used one or a damaged one. I got curbside pickup, so I did not notice the slight damage on the box. When I opened the box, I noticed the top Styrofoam was broken, and when I pulled the humidifier out, the sides we not aligned. The hose cover was not flush and there was worn plastic where it looks like it was forced closed. One of the inside vents was also out of alignment. When I turned it on I noticed the only button that worked was the power button. I will be taking it back first thing in the morning.

I bought this in April of 2021 and it worked in the Summers of 2021 and 2022. When plugged in during the Summer of 2023, the fan runs for about an hour then shuts down with no water extracted from the air. I've tried the recommended 30 second unplugging to reset but still nothing. GE used to be a quality name...

I bought my first one of these a few years ago. By the middle of the first summer, I was seeing rust in the water bucket and flakes of rust all over the area around it. I made a warranty claim (huge pain) and received a new unit last July and used it through September. I just fired up the unit again a few weeks ago and am already seeing rust again. It’s really frustrating because I like the size of the unit and it works well, I just don’t want to have to clean rust off every surface around it.

Like others, I received used equipment for a NEW purchase except when I purchased mine (NOV of 2022) I didn’t report that it had black buildup all inside of the bucket and filter. Tons of stains inside the bucket and if the water isn’t emptied quick enough (3-4 days sometimes I don’t run it as often) it builds bacteria in the water. My last dehumidifier did not ever do that after years of use. Last month my fan blade started to knock when set to HIGH output mode. Unsure of what to do now because I didn’t first report what I received due to needing it IMMEDIATELY so I had to use it right away and the company I’m sure will say I’m lying. So just beware, they really do give you USED units at NEW price. I do love the unit just wish I wasn’t scammed.
