I purchased about one & half years ago. But I used handful times. But it stopped working after few month of using. I think there was connection problem. low speed button died after 6 month and hi speed button died about 2 month later. But I kept it and hoped it worked again later but it didn't work so I threw away. I could not believe I paid for about one hundred dollars for junk blender. I valued GE too high, I'd had inexpensive braun hand held blender for about 20 years, and finally it died. So I decided to get GE brand. It was my mistake. I notice it's price is now $49.99. But save 5- bucks. I don't recommand this.

This is a very powerful blender, with a very solid build. It has 2 speeds and is easy to operate with one hand. The whisk attachment didn’t seem to have a great connection, just make sure to twist the connector all the way. Once it was in place, it did a great job of making whipped cream. The best use of this for me has been the attachment which acts as a mini food processor (with lots of power). I’ve used this the most because I don’t have to get out the rather large food processor I have. It is just more convenient for smaller jobs (making salsa, guacamole, spice blends, etc). Clean up is easy. I’m just really impressed with how powerful this small appliance is. Easy to recommend that you pick this up, you’ll use it more than you might think

I'll quickly say that this handheld blender very quickly exceeded our expectations. It's super easy to get going straight from the box. It looks and feels high quality. I really like the hold-button function to operate the blender instead of an on/off switch. My wife first wanted to make milkshakes. We used the immersion blender wand after first chopping up some chocolate bars in the chopper. The chopper had no issues chopping them up, and we probably should have used it in less time, as it worked too well! The blender took little time itself to mix everything into the milkshake and made no mess. We also made some gravy for one of our meals with the whisk attachment, and I've got nothing bad to say here; it whisked the gravy very well, and beats having to use the wrist. The main body is a little heavy, but you shouldn't have to hold it for any extended period of time that it becomes exhausting to hold. It's also extremely easy to clean up. I definitely dread having to clean up after a meal or a treat, but it takes no time at all to clean up the attachments after use. In the use that we've given it, everything looks like it'll hold up for a long time with proper use (I highly recommend reading the owner's manual for tips). We are looking forward to continuing to use this blender for all kinds of meal prep!

I am absolutely loving this immersion blender. A lot of my appliances (including my stand mixer and blender) are very nice but they're super bulky. Sometimes I just want a nice easy way to mix or blend something that doesn't involve manhandling heavy appliances around my kitchen. I've missed having an immersion blender because it's so simple to use for quick little kitchen jobs. What I especially love about this one though are the extra attachments that come with it. I LOVE the whisk attachment. I think I may have used that more already than the actual blender because it's so convenient for whipping something up quickly and easily (pun intended). The chopping jar is also a really cool idea. I used to have a hand chopper that functioned similarly...this is that much easier and convenient. I love the more updated look of the blender as well, very modern. Plus, it functions powerfully (as I would expect) and gets the job (plus so many more!) done well. Super happy with this and highly recommend!

    Great multi-task appliance!

This immersion blender came well packaged. The inner box had two formed cardboard pieces to keep all of the attachments in place. The box contained an Owner’s Manual, the main body of the blender, 3 attachments (whisk, chopper with a lid, and blending attachment.) The whisk has a motor body housing that it attaches to before attaching that to main body. The inner box was inside another heavy-duty cardboard box. Main body: The length and grip are both well-designed for ease and comfort. The cord length is ample for maneuverability. Even for using with soup on the range, it will reach from the nearest and even the second nearest wall plug in my kitchen. The buttons are well-placed for ease of use. You have to keep your finger on the “low” or “high” button to use the blender. To turn off the blender, you just remove your finger from the button. You can also “pulse” the blender by pressing and releasing the button quickly. Attachments: Blending Attachment (I call this “Emulsifier”), Chopper, and Whisk. The first thing I made with the Immersion Blender was meringue for a lemon pie. Using the whisk attachment, it easily whipped the egg whites and sugar into a wonderfully peaked meringue. I used a plastic mixing bowl for this. Next, I tested it on some homemade salsa, using the chopper attachment to cut up the onions, jalapeños, and tomatoes. You have to be careful not to chop too long, so I used a pulsing method to chop. By quickly removing my finger from the button, I could easily gauge the size of the chopped ingredients in the transparent chopping bowl. This method worked great. Next, I tested it on a creamy squash soup using the emulsifier attachment. The attachment worked very well. The cooked squash was well mixed with the other ingredients. I put the emulsifier directly into the pan on the stove that I was cooking in for this. Lastly, I gave it multi-task test making a dog food treat from a recipe that I got in my dog’s monthly treat box. First, I crumbled up some hard “dog treats” using the chopper attachment. Then I put the chopped treats into a glass mixing bowl, added a banana, 6 oz of plain yogurt, and 2 T of sweet potato (a dog treat in a squeeze tube.) I used the emulsifier for that. It came out well mixed. I was able to spoon it into her rubber toy and freeze it for later. Deciding whether to pulse the buttons or hold them in was easy. I started everything with pulsing and soon figured out which ones needed to be changed to continuous. For the salsa, pulsing the button worked best because I could stop the attachment before it became too mushy or watery. For the dog treats and the meringue, holding in the button worked best. Changing the attachments was very easy. Just attach to the main body and turn until it clicks into place. To unattach, just turn the attachment the opposite way. Power: Two speeds (low and high) make this immersion blender an improvement over my previous one. I used the high speed for whisking and some of the chopping. I used the low speed for some of the chopping and for emulsifying the soup and potatoes, although the high speed worked fine on those too. Changing speeds is easy because you just remove your finger from the button and place it on the other one. The blender will stop when you remove your finger from either of the buttons. Cleaning: For cleaning, I prefer to just rinse the attachments before anything gets dried on. Then I usually hand-wash them and let them dry on a drying mat, but they are safe to clean in the dishwasher. When I use the dishwasher, I prefer the top rack. Not all pieces are dishwasher safe. The manual will go into specifics, but here is the basic info: Sponge or damp cloth – do not use in dishwasher or submerge in water: Main motor body, the gear box that the whisk attaches too, and the cover for the chopper. Dishwasher safe: Whisk (after detaching from the gear box), the chopper bowl (top rack), the chopper blade (in the cutlery basket – being careful of the blade) Wash in hot, soapy water: The blender shaft (emulsifier shaft) – be careful of the blades. Summary: I really love this appliance. This combines 3 appliances into one, and they all do a very good job. Storage is easier because the combination of pieces take up less room than the 3 separate appliances would. Also, because they are all combined into 1 appliance with 3 attachments, it’s just a matter of clicking the attachment on and then off and replacing it with another, so using more than one appliance during meal prep is faster and less complicated, along with fewer appliances taking up room in your prep space. With only one cord and one main body, there is less to deal with.

It is not that often that you get a new appliance and are able to compare it to a currently owned model from another company. Usually you buy and just assess based on its quality and accept that it works great. In the case of the GE handheld blender, I am able to compare it to a very popular one from Hamilton Beach (albeit a much cheaper one) that I have used for many years (and has served us well). Side note: when I say “I”, “I” is essentially my WIFE, who does all the food prep in the house…heh. Compared with the Hamilton Beach model, the GE handheld blender is a huge upgrade, both in quality and in accessories. The most notable thing about this handheld blender is the accessories. Usually such a tool comes with only the standard pole-shaped blender that requires blending inside of a cup of sorts. GE has pleasantly included BOTH a food processor attachment AND a whisker. If you don’t already have a standalone whisker, then hey, you will save yourself the money on getting said whisker as this comes with the attachment. Nothing will beat (har har) having 2 whiskers on a dedicated whisking device, but in a pinch this single whisker is leaps and mounds better than and manual whisker you’d buy for a couple bucks. Similarly, the food processor is by no means as powerful as a standalone food processor (e.g. I would not recommend using the included processor to make your own almond butter…I mean it’ll work, it is just not set-it-and-forget-it like a standalone device) but it works very well, especially if you are like us and have a new baby in the family who requires processed food. The only downside of said food processor is that you have to hold it together. It does not provide the means to be set-it-and-forget-it (no stand to keep it upright, no locking mechanism to keep it attached). It is purely meant to be a quick solution to help you avoid buying the made-for-TV junk like the SlapChop (ha!). Of course, the primary function of this is the blender tool. And I would say that this attachment is much better designed than the Hamilton Beach device we have. The blades are bigger, and the space between the blade and the protective walls is greater, making it MUCH easier to clean. However, they both blend food equally well. The major difference is that the GE device is notably quieter while doing it. On the features front, both offer 1 year warranty, both devices offer 2 speeds, and both have good length on the AC cord, and both devices are quite heavy (a good thing) and feel good in the hand. The GE device though offers a much more premium look and feel with the chrome and rubber, while the Hamilton Beach is plastic. In other words the GE device is much more durable. Now, the GE device is $100, while something like the Hamilton Beach tool is a quarter of that price. (note: if you buy the version without the whisker and food processor, you’ll save $20). Do I recommend the GE blender? Absolutely. Very high quality, great to have those attachments. Do I recommend it over a cheap $25 Hamilton Beach blender? Considering both devices have only a 1 year warranty, probably not. If both break on day 366, replacement cost is $100 vs $25. And both blend food equally well, just the GE is a bit more…premium about it (better look and feel, and a bit quieter).

    Useful Combination Blender

This GE Immersion blender works well, and is powerful. The blender end and blade are stainless steel and are a bit large so it doesn't fit all the way down inside some things. It makes short work of a smoothie or a frappe, pulverizing ice pretty quickly. This set is a tad expensive but comes with a whisk and a ninja-style chopper which also works pretty well. The blades in the chopper are similar in design but not quite as surgically sharp. Still a nice added easy-to-reach addition to a kitchen arsenal. I can say it did a great job of making a smooth batch of pancake batter. So you can actually leave this set close by among your cooking stuff and leave bigger tools for bigger tasks.

. We decided to replace the typical plastic handheld blender we had with the Stainless Steel GE - Immersion 2-Speed Handheld Blender primarily because we wanted to blend warm things while cooking (soups) and didn’t think the plastic was up to it. On this criterium alone, the GE would deserve 5 stars. It easily handled hot materials. The use of stainless steel led to other things going for it though that are more subjective and ultimately meant a 4-star rating to the set. You may see it as a 5. There are 4 pieces to the set. Handle - it has a strong 500W motor that makes easy work of most kitchen needs. Arguably though, it is too strong at its lowest setting and this is a problem when you only have two settings. - It has a sturdy rubber grip that is easy to hold but might be too big for someone with small hands. - The two speeds (High/Low) are logically located for ease of use. - Cord is a good length as the cord needs to be long enough for the blender to be safe but allow freedom of movement to be versatile (use at counter, stove, etc) Blending arm with a bell-shaped head - Attaches and detaches easily and securely - Blends well allowing food to move through blade easily - Curved stainless blades get the job done Whisk head - Food needs to be in a big enough vessel or will splash considerably even on the low setting Mini chopper bowl - Because of the high speed, best for chopping dry materials Pros: - Very robust, the design of the hand blender is sturdy with an anti-slip grip - Very strong motor. - The blades are made of stainless steel. - Parts (Except handle) are dishwasher safe. - Blends hot items. Cons: - Blender is fairly heavy (over 2 lbs with the blender wand attached) - Only 2 speeds – at times even the low setting is too much/fast especially for pulsing. In the end this is why I graded it a 4. Most handhelds’ have many more settings. This no doubt is a limit of the power/weight. - Price seems a little high

My kids have started liking smoothies for breakfast and the GE is much easier than dragging out the big blender even thou the GE does weigh more than I anticipated. It works pretty well too. The chopping attachment does a good job on onions and the like. My only complaint is that the whisk attachment wires are a little flimsy. They do a job on eggs but I wouldn't trust them with anything much thicker than pancake batter though

    POWERFUL IMMERSION BLENDER

I'm so glad that I got this GE IMMERSION HAND-HELD BLENDER. I have been wanting one for a while, but just never bought one. I don't cook a lot (especially for items that I would have to "blend") and I rarely - if ever - bake! The packaging on this GE blender was really good. Exterior of box was very descriptive of what was included and great pics. Inside, it was packed very well and all the items were damage-free. Good job. The setup - what there was of it - was effortless and all fit together correctly and easily! Before I get into my review, the one thing I really liked about this GE model is that it is mostly metal and the stainless steel look is nice sitting on my counter. Upon first use (... my first ever with an immersion blender..), I was quite surprised to find how powerful it really was. Even the LOW speed was very powerful and I had to be careful not to get the sauce I was blending all over me and the counter. It did a superb job blending the sauce, to a fine puree which was my intended result. My next blending adventure is a "soup" that I want to ensure all my veggies are thoroughly blended (chopped up) because my husband hates vegetables! Overall ... a great product. Compact. Attractive. Powerful. Sturdy construction. I highly recommend this GE Immersion Blender!

    Great Immersion Blender

This handheld blender works extremely well. The first thing I used it for was as a chopper. The chopping attachment works as well as any electric or manual chopper. There is a rubber band around the bottom of the chopper base that holds it in place effortlessly. Next I made some milk shakes. This is an immersion blender after all. Unfortunately the ice cream was a bit on the soft side, but the shakes came out great considering the ingredients I had to use. The second attempt at milk shakes came out perfect when the ice cream was frozen solid. Last, we made a cake with the wire whisk attachment. The whisk works great, much easier than doing it by hand and less work than setting up the full sized mixer. My only dings on the blender, the power/speed buttons for high and low feel like they are backwards. I was constantly pressing high when I intended to use low. Second ding, top shelf dishwasher for all detachable pieces would have been great. Last ding, locking the attachments in was inconsistent. It seemed like it had locked in only to unlock during operation. This could be operator error, but it happened to my wife also. Overall, this really does the trick. It is much easier than digging out larger appliances to do the same work.

Fine New Immersion Blender From GE

More and more companies are making immersion blenders now and GE's new blender is a very capable addition to the field. Well-balanced with easy two-speed operation by way of two buttons at the top of the device. It is powerful enough to drive through even tough jobs like milkshakes and root vegetable purees. The whisk attachment is a little flimsy and would be useless if bent - and the chopping attachment is just odd (blade spins to fast for most chopping tasks and the container is small - don't really understand how it might be used constructively). It would have been smarter to include an appropriately fitting blending cup (which, of course, is something sold separately). If they had gone all-in on the immersion blender aspect of the device instead of including two different unrelated attachments, this would have gotten five stars.
