Reliable and Easy to Install

I have 5 of these switches around my house now. I use them with the Samsung SmartThings hub. They have all joined effortlessly to the network and are very reliable. I tried another brand to try and save a little money but had a lot of trouble getting it to join to the network and work reliably. With these GE switches I have had zero problems. Installation is straightforward, just have to account for the size of each unit.

I'm a total novice when it comes to anything to do with home electrical. (I'm a mechanical engineer, so that's kind of embarrassing.) I installed this light switch as well as a fan controller, add-on switch, and several smart dimmers in my home. I definitely recommend watching some YouTube videos before getting started. It's also a good idea to turn your power off before starting. I got shocked several times but still went ahead and wired it hot because I didn't want to kill the power zone in m house that has my wireless router.
Once installed, the switched hooked right up to my SmartThings hub, and I was able to enable access to my Google Home so I can turn on/off my lights, fans, and fireplace with my voice.
(By the way, you'll need to do quite a bit more than just hook this up if you want it to control your fireplace. You'll have to purchase a 120VAC controlled dry contact relay which you can get at Radio Shack.)

Works Great & Easy Setup

Setup was super easy. There are lots of youtube videos on how to install. You just need to make sure you have a neutral wire, a ground wire, and a line and load wire for power. The hardest part was trying to shove the whole thing back in the electrical box after everything was connected.
I connected to SmartThings and it took a few minutes for it to find my device, but eventually did. The hub is in the basement so it isn't exactly close.
I set this up on my front porch light switch to turn them on at sunset and off at sunrise minus 6 hours (which is roughly midnight this time of year).
I also am planning on hooking this up with my Amazon Echo so I can tell Alexa to turn on or off.
I paid around 35-40 dollars for this. Wish it was a bit cheaper.

I have several of these switches in my house and have decided to order more. I had bought these switches at the same time I bought Leviton. Both my Leviton switches have died and I have decided to stick with GE.

I purchased a few of these lights and so far they are working great. The lights are fairly easy to install as well. I'd recommend these lights to anyone who wants smarthome capabilities.

Though it would be like the belkin wemo switch , but I was very wrong, the z-wave is complicated and very hard to set.

No Issues - Highly Recommended

I am not having the issues others have mentioned here. I have a SmartThings hub and currently own (10) of the GE 12722 switches installed and working flawlessly. I have an additional (12) on order. I am using (3) motion sensors that trigger various lighting groups. I control my lights with not only the SmartThings iOS app, but also Amazon Echo. I could not be happier. Read the instructions and watch YouTube installation videos if you have problems. Very good, solid product.

I bought a GE switch mainly because it was the cheapest option for a smart switch, but the low price in no way reflects the switch's high quality. The install was easy, the integration with my Samsung Smartthings hub was smooth, and the performance has been reliable and consistent. I also like that these come with the option of installing in a 3-way switch, and that they support push-in wiring.

I have a ton of these with a Vera unit controlling them...One of about 20 has failed right after the warranty date.
