I ordered a microwave along with the delivery and installation service through Best Buy. I was in the basement of my home and missed the installers call when they arrive. I called them back 30 minutes later, several times and they would not answer and then turned off their phone. Best Buy only allows you to text their help staff, and the only help they provided was to give me the number for Geek Squad. I called Geek Squad who said I had to call the installation company. I called the installation company who said they couldn't get in touch with the installer and I'd have to reschedule for another day. I told them don't bother because I'm going to return the microwave and cancel the service and tried to contact Best Buy again. However, you can't actually get anyone at Best Buy on the phone so I had to go through the "Chat Bot" several times to get a real person to text me they "do not have the option to cancel installation. Our team will call you 1 hours before visiting your home. Then you can declined the service." When I texted back that I didn't even understand what they were saying because the installer had come and gone and nothing was rescheduled they said "I request you to please contact us back after 24 hours we will help you with cancellation." Mind blown. And I cannot find an actual person I can call and talk to at Best Buy. I should have known better than to purchase a service like this through Best Buy--I've had problems with customer service there in the past.

Deleted Files, Supervisor did not Call Back

I work remotely and have a remote connection to my MacBook Air and Epson printer. I was unable to print single sided from my remote connection. I spoke with/ dealt with four technicians, and the problem was still not resolved.
1. I described the problem to the first technician, who said he needed to transfer me to someone higher up. He said the person would take over the Chat.
2. Technician #2 started the Chat – I typed that I was going upstairs for 5 minutes and he said that was fine. When I came back, he was actively working away on my Desktop. I don’t know what he was doing. I didn’t interrupt, but at one point it asked for my Computer password and I input it so he could proceed. So he knew I was there. He was going into all sorts of Codes/configurations, I had no idea what he was doing, and he didn’t describe it. He dumped some items in the trash – not sure what, but then he emptied my entire trash. Deleted everything permanently without asking. Thousands and thousands of items were rapidly deleted before my eyes. I was completely flabbergasted, but I had no time to react, because he conveniently ended the Chat and the Screen Share. Who does something like this without explaining or asking permission? He also screwed up my Google Chrome app somehow in the process.
3. I called back and spoke with Laury, who apologized on behalf of her colleague. I was furious. Maybe I wanted to go back into my Trash and look for documents. She tried to help me get the Chrome issue resolved, but was unable to do so. She specifically said that Technician #4 would call me and that I would talk to him, not just Chat. I therefore left the room and got some dinner, taking my phone with me.
4. About 30 minutes passed, and no had called me. I went back to my laptop. Someone was working on my Desktop without my even being present. I typed “you were supposed to CALL me” and he replied, “Can you print double-sided now?” I replied that this wasn’t the problem. The problem was that I couldn’t print single-sided when working remote. So here he was, working on my Desktop and didn’t even know what the problem was. I told him to forget about it, I had to get ready for work the next day, I would call back the next day.
5. The next day, I spoke to another Technician (Asish – sorry I know the spelling is wrong). He resolved my Chrome issue. I told him to forget about the printer issue – I would call Epson (Epson did resolve it). Asish was also apologetic about Technician #2, and tried to get a hold of a supervisor. Of course, none were available. Asish said he could not see the names of the technicians I spoke with, only their notes. He said a supervisor would call me back when they were available.
No one ever called me back.
The problem with Geek Squad is that it isn’t centralized. There is no accountability. Most, if not all, of the technicians I dealt with are located in India. It is one thing to not be able to fix a problem. It’s another to create another problem, and delete thousands of someone’s files, then unprofessionally end the Chat like a coward. What kind of a person does that? And because there's no centralization, there will be no consequences for wasting my time and for deleting files that perhaps I wanted to keep.

Set up an appointment to have my sons computer fixed, the power supply was not working. Before i could even start to explain the problem, all i kept hearing was how much it would be to diagnose the problem. They wanted to charge me 280 to take a look at it or buy a year membership for 189 just to look at it and then there would be an additional charge for any parts and to install them. So it would be around 400 dollars to repair a 500 dollar computer, no thanks. Will not go to them again.

If you enjoy being on hold, or allowing a Geek Squad member access to your computer only for them to disconnect from the chat, chatting back to be passed from one person to another and then another and yet another, and finally a chat started but no one replies, then YES this is the support you want!!!
Don't buy the Best Buy Total Membership...It's a waste of money and the Geek Squad is useless!

I asked tune up. I needed to call 4 time to have appropriate tune up. The 2nd technitian disconnected to the access to my printer. 4th technitian fixed it. She said that google chrom was not downloaed correctly, so she fixed it and brought back the access to prointong. Now I am scare to callt hem. When they could do right, they just dismiss from the schreen and I am not sure what is the stutus; what is wrong. It seems like that many of them do terrible service.

I needed repairs to a computor and brought it to the "geeks". Took it home a few days later and suffered the same trouble. I returned and explained that the problem was still there. I was warned that if I did anything to cause the problem my 30 day warranty would be voided. Immediatly I was informed that was the case. I explained that the computor hadnt been turned on for more than a minute, and the symtoms were exactly the same. The tech stopped talking to me and called over a manager. Same thing. I asked for the store manager and was actualy laughed at.
Still no satisfaction. Bottom line is Im out 199.99 buyer beware.
Best Buy? methinks not.

I have taken my computer to the Geek Squad 7 times and my computer is still broken. I could have sworn i paid for the product replacement plan when I bought my computer. Every time I send it to them it comes back with even more problems. And when I took it in the guy had an attitude like its my fault they suck. These guys need to get it together, fast.

This is dumb that they won't fix people's stuff that are willing to pay unless you have some sort of warranty or service contract . I see why their reviews are so bad

I brought my computer to Geek Squad after it kept freezing up at start-up when I had it for only 4 days. First of all, they wouldn't replace the computer (first no-no) and then told me that they would repair the computer free-of-cost. Sounds great, BUT, that was a lie. I went to pick my computer up 3 days later, only to see that I had been charged $130 for a diagnostic. When a computer breaks down within 4 days of buying it, BEST BUY SHOULD REPAIR IT FREE-OF-COST, bottom-line. Especially when that was our signed agreement at check-out. When I disputed this cost, they told me that the salesperson that claimed I had approved the diagnostic was not available and that I would have to come back another day to dispute the charge & get my computer. Does this sound like customer service to you?!?! I found the Geek Squad people very unhelpful, dishonest, and dispectful. They will not get my business again.

I paid a ridiculous amount for what I was led to believe was a comprehensive, repair or replace that would function as an extended warantee for a computer package (cpu, monitor, printer). And now that printer is broken it turns out the printer is not covered. Be very careful when you purchase a contract with Geek Squad.

I dont knwo what happened to the last people but i love the Geek Squad. They take care of all my issues. People need to keep in mind computers may work for the Geeks but not at home, every time this has been the case i was very promptly check in. I have heard people complain on having to wait 3 or 4 weeks for a repair but when i compare that to my friend who had to wait 3 months i dont mind 3 weeks. I think people have given them a bad name, when in fact they are ( at least at my store) some of the sweetes people i have ever meet.
