    Good tech support if you get the right person

    I used Geed Squad tech support for the first time for the purchase of my computer and accessories. Some stores' service is better than others. Had a problem with service at a couple stores. Finally found one that seemed more responsive. When you find a person who is most compatible with you, I recommend trying to work with the same person each time if possible, so you don't have to continuously repeat your situation. I appreciated what was done to optimize one of my computers, however, many of my settings were changed. A security program was replaced with one they installed, which I understood why they did it, but I would have preferred to be notified of this decision and given the option to approve the change or not, especially since I pay for an annual subscription to the one that was uninstalled. Now I know what to be aware of in the future. I do like that the tech support includes unlimited for three devices. Make sure you confirm information provided with different Geek Squad people at different stores. I was given incorrect information at my closest local Best Buy. It almost cost Best Buy the loss of a $2,000 sale. Fortunately, I checked a different store and found better service and reliable information. So, make sure you feel comfortable and confident with the tech person you work with.

    We recently had a repair, clean up done by a different company and were very dissatisfied on our desktop. We were looking for a new laptop and decided to give Geek Squad a try since they covered so many things for such a reasonable price. We now have 3 units and just brought our desktop in that wasn't taken care of by the 1st repair shop. We were notified every step of the way and happy with the results. Since they offer unlimited tune ups we feel secure our computers will be well taken of. Need more than one person at there intake desk. Wait was long but the repair time very short so it out weighed the line to get it taken in.

    worth it on tablets and laptops

    I tend to build and fix my computers, never had an issue with and desktops that require to be in a case, anything that i can easily replace hardware i tend to do myself as well as upgrading. but when it comes to laptops and tablets they are a little harder to get inside of, so i let others be responsible for anything that could happen. If you are not a computer wiz then i highly suggest getting this tech support membership, I've only taken my laptop to get restarted to factory mode (just to see how the tech support really is) i asked for specific instruction on updating drivers and changing operating system keys, something that could be done yourself in just a hour or two. i dropped it off on a Friday afternoon and i got a call on morning of next day by a tech support agent saying that service was completed and ready for pick up. Seems pretty useful to have when you're too lazy to do the work yourself or when you just don't want to deal with any trouble along the way however long the membership term may be.

    Geek Squad follows a fair policy for Tech Support

    At the time I brought a PC in for evaluation and repair, I did not know the unit was totally corrupted and fried beyond repair. This particular purchase was for 1 year of technical support services. I had only one home-use PC - IBM style tower hard drive, so that my support would be for that sole home-use unit. Under a separate purchase to repair my PC, the Geek team determined it was beyond repair. So what do they do? They credited me back my purchase for this 1 year Tech Support, since I had no computer to service. Now, in future I shall have no reluctance to call upon the Geeks for a similar 1-year service for a future PC purchase. You cannot beat fairness and reliability.

    Tech Support good to have if your not an expert

    I have always had Geek Squad protection. If you are not computer expert like I am not would recommend you have this support. The only issues I have with support as you can wait a long time depending on what time of day you call. So place phone on speaker and have something else to do while waiting. They do seem to do a good job with performing quality services on your pc. Bought several pc's from Best Buy and always had this support. It is good to have someone to call when you have a problem.

    In-Store Superb, phone a flop

    The in-store assistance was superb (Pasadena, CA 00125); Katherine & Daniel were professional, helpful and sensitive to my needs. The entire in-store Squad were knowledgeable, patient and efficient. The call-in service however left a lot to be desired, my one and only experience thus far was disjointed, frustrating and noisy (word of advise get some fabric partitions in that call center to absorb the sound...). I look forward to a continued relationship with the Geek Squad.

    I have had to call the Geek Squad out 3 times on my new iMac computer . . first my contact list was not transferred but the agent came back in a few days and put it on . . then it got messed up with my iPhone names and not my contact list . . A 3rd agent came out and hopefully got it straightened out . . Time will tell . . the people you call are good to help out.

    At first I was hesitant to buy anymore than I already had when purchasing my macbook. However, geek squad is something one must NOT skip out on. Having the ability to get my computer fixed, and ease of mind that it isn't going to cost me hundreds of dollars makes spending a little extra at the beginning totally worth it. Great service!

    I have had issues occur with my new gaming laptop and I am so very glad to have gotten the tech support from Geek Squad for the next 2 years. They are so great; I just contact them online via chat window...they analyse the initial problem, and then connect remotely to fix whatever the problem might be. And, if you happen to disconnect for some reason, they will contact you by phone or reconnect online. Rarely, have I had to take my computer in to the nearest Best Buy store for them to have to work on it. This has been the best purchase for my laptop that I could have possibly made. They have saved me several times already and I've only owned my new laptop for less than one month.

    So glad I purchased the tech support. It is a relief to know I can take my computer in every couple of months for a routine check up and to clean any virus or malware that has attached itself to my computer. Yes, it only covers software issues which are the only issues I have had, but if hardware fails me at least I know I will get a discount on services to repair the problem. The Geek Squad at my store is very pleasant to work with and explain everything they did to my computer. Would not think of going without Geek Squad Tech support.

    As have learned how to work with the Geek squad have found the help provided more and more useful. Had a previous service which over time failed tests of helpfulness, access and clarity. So was very happy to learn about the Geek Squad and have been pleased with the help provided. Still learning how to always work effectively with Geek Squad members and plan to continue my membership.

    Our computer was messing up and it was going to cost almost the price of this to fix it. So we chose to purchase this in case we had other issues throughout the year, It seems to be a better value since we get to add 3 computers to be serviced all year. I recommend checking it out if you are having issues with your device.

    Good tech support from geek squad.Techs, They listened to my concern, asked questions, did not talk down to me, and explained what they recommended. When a tech has control of my machine and needs a response, suggest you have a chime or ding to alert the customer. For an extended repair or service, it would make it more efficient for all of us to know the tech wanted a response from us.

    The Geek Squad support I have received so far has been excellent. Since the computer is brand new, all they have done is set it up, connect it with the printer and showed me how to use it. I have also used their 800 number. It took a little while to get to a person from all the automated messages but once I got to a human, the problems were taken care of promptly.

    Cheap insurance for your new gadget

    This came as part of my 3 year accidental damage plan. I haven't needed it yet, but when you fork out over a $1000 for a computer a couple extra hundred is cheap to protect you from everything except loss, theft, complete submersion in liquid, or anything to do with a bullet. (They won't cover your computer for damage if you get mad at it and shoot it.)

    This was a bit pricey but a good service for computer issues, not only can you make an appointment for someone to come out to help but you alos have the 24/7 phone help which I have had to use both & it was really useful, so I really do appreciate Geek Squad having this service.

    The best money ever spent! Geek squad is the best. I love that I can contact from my home and they can take over the computer and fix it right then and there. I don't have to pack everything up and take to the store. There is always someone available 24/7. They take care of all my computer issues from installing a printer to virus protection and everything that may come up. I am clueless and they always know what to do. Also anytime I am in the store the Geek squad staff are very helpful and knowledgeable. As long as there is a Geek Squad I will pay for their services.

    Well worth it! The number of times I've called in, in the few months I've had my laptop and had them update, link up my security software (which I installed but my laptop didn't recognize), fix a windows glich, and so on. Has well paid for its self. I call in or log on to chat and they remote in I then sit back, relax, and the geeks well they do their thing! Plus my old laptop they wiped it out and now I have an old Internet machine for the kids! Because it covers a few devices. Highly recommend to anyone with no techy savvy ppl in their life.

    I was able to get my laptops checked for viruses and all issues resolved and quick ! Very friendly and patient staff at Best Buy. They were able to answer all my questions about my products and show me things that I didn't know about. This saves a lot of money, headaches, and time, especially if you have had many issues with viruses, glitches, or whatever. Other places charge crazy prices to "fix" your devices and then you'll have another problem they want to charge extra for, SO this service is the cheapest and most affordable way to go.

    Had purchased an open box Lenovo LapTop from Best Buy that had a Malware problem that kept coming back. Took it to Geek Squad. The first time it came back but after another try so far so good. Staff was very helpful both times, as well as the online support.
