Always a good idea to get the extended warranty

They are usually very courteous and helpful. I bought the extended warranty and took the computer in for some adjustments. This did not get done and I was given a phone number to call. I use AOL and the store could not log on that day. I still need adjustments on the screens and fonts on this computer.

Granted I have only needed to use them once since purchasing the service but that one time made my day and my life so much easier!!! They immediately jumped in and started helping me try to fix the issue I was having and were so super nice about it too! I am not a tech savy girl by any means and for once I didn't feel like a complete idiot when talking to a tech guy trying to fix something for me. They also offer to go above and beyond to help eliminate future issues. Best purchase I ever made!

The people at Geek Squad have been very patient with us. We have called on many " how do I do this" types of questions. They have been able to review our computer remotely to be sure it was set up correctly, and helped us learn what we were doing wrong.
Most calls were answered on a timely basis.

The techs have been wonderful with their assistance, but I am not enjoying the "new" appointment system. It is not customer focused. You used to be able to come in and drop off your computer, but now you have to make an appointment. No very helpful when you want to stop by on your way to/from work.

The up-sell to a new hard drive was unexpected. They didn't even transfer files to the new drive. Blah, blah, blah, had to do it myself. What do I need to pay for the rest of the year for? Oh we'll, they got me now, might as well try to get my money's worth. Won't be using geek squad in 2014.

I have used 24-7 Geek Squad on everything I have from Best Buy - which is a lot (Netbook, Laptop, Desktop, All-in-One - to name a few) and these agents have been nothing but patient and wonderful with me. I am VERY comfortable using this service and am confident in my results!

When I purchased the computer the Geek Squad personnel promised to set the computer up in a timely manner. They installed a couple of additional programs that I purchased, and met their delivery deadline. The 1-800 telephone support personnel were extremely helpful in getting my email account set up on my new computer. I especially liked the fact that Geek Squad was able to remotely take control of the screen and solve a problem that I had created with the email account. Great service!

I love, love, love my geek squad support plan. I just recently purchased a new laptop and needed to get it setup at home on a network. I called the Geek Squad and someone was sent out to my home for a nominal amount (because I have a plan) and was able to get me setup in no time. I think their people really know their stuff and I was a happy customer when he left. I would definitely recommend to anyone if you're not that computer savvy or just need help with the next level of service.

Less then I year since I purchased the computer and I had to buy the membership or pay more to have the computer fixed. My computer profile, admin, would not load. I waited at Best Buy over 2 hours to get it fixed. Got home and I had another, new, problem, Called the store - I could drop off my computer and they would call. I called Geek Squad. First person, who directed my call was so-so. The Technician - what can I say, I could kiss her I am so happy! Quick and very professional!

geek squad techs don't always give consistent answers and recently changed their policy to provide in-person support by appointment without notifying its existing members, but when your computer's HD is failing i'd rather pay a flat fee for the year to fix whatever i need than pay per repair

I purchased the Geek Squad protection mostly because I have two kids who use the computer and I wanted peace of mind if something happened. We had the Geek Squad coverage for our last one also, and while they eventually fixed our issues, it took 3 separate GS reps to finally get it correct.

was a little irritated to have to make an appt to drop off/pickup computers. they did a good job getting the virus off the desktop when i got the virus doing turbo tax. the security on our laptop stopped the virus but it slowed the computer down so much that i was hating it...now works great

I am very pleased with the Geek Squad's technical support. They have helped me with major problems and minor ones with professional expertise. The tech reps were always very friendly, and explained everything the did, and always asked if I had further questions or concerns. I have used their in-store services, as well as resolving my problems via phone and remote access. The cost is also very reasonable and covers multiple devices. Thank you, Best Buy, for this wonderful service.

I Love my geek squad!!! What more can I say... Buying a laptop for the very first time and with the new Windows I admit I do not know how to fix any probs let alone fully work this yet but calling my geek squad for help was actually a pleasure! Imagine calling Microsoft with a prob and saying afterwards it was a pleasure to deal with them, that I could never see happening in my experience... Wish I had had my geek squad in the past and I honestly will never want to be without them!!!

The service was ok. Certainly the person at the counter was friendly, wrote down exactly what the problem was and did not make any promises that he knew couldn't be kept. The computer, when returned, wasn't significantly faster. There was no explanation as to what had been done or found. Also the web site tracking and the actual repair progress were not coordinated. On the day i checked the web site for the repair status it said my computer had yet to be given to a tech. 20 minutes later I got an automated call saying the repairs were complete. As the service agreement covers up to three computers I'll try it again with my backuop lap top.

I bought BB protection after I had a trojan horse on my laptop. It was my fault because of peer to peer risks, but the Geek Squad agent explained how this gets by virus protection and what I can do to protect myself. He was very knowledgeable. The two year package gives me peace of mind.

I purchased the Tech Support as part of a "package deal" when I bought my new HP Split x2 convertible laptop. The price had been cut 50% for this service. It more than paid for itself when the Geek Squad set up my new computer and installed additional software that I needed. This service was handled professionally and completed ahead of the time originally indicated to me. In addition, all of my questions were answered thoroughly, professionally and in a very friendly manner.

My Samsung laptop notified me that my Adobe Reader program had expired, my Kasperski had expired and startup, notifications, and shutdown were all slow all of the time. I tried online fixes but they made everything worse. The online computer cleansing programs confused everything and cost me $20 to do so. After the Geek squad updated and streamlined my software, my Samsung is as slick as when new, plus all of my family's Apple and PC devices are covered for one year of service.

phone service was unacceptable. Initial call was disconnected, and agent promised to call back, but did not.
Second call involved getting to agent to do remote correction. Did a restore, and promised to call me back when complete. Restore did not accomplish anything, and she did not call back.
