Excellent notebook with a beautiful screen that can also game.
I previously had an older 9th gen version of this laptop that had all sorts of heating issues. But with the new 11th gen CPU they seemed to have worked out those issues.
This notebook is the right size with the right performance and features while still allowing for some decent do it yourself upgrade options all at an almost too good to be true price.

Excellent budget gaming laptop. The Samsung panel is gorgeous, RTX 30XX runs beautifully well. I set the resolution to 1440p for gaming since 4k arguably would not make a significant difference considering sitting distance and screen size. Content creators will probably be happy with this, as will media enthusiasts.
Cons are the webcam quality and placement, the function keys missing cutouts to see through backlighting, and, subjectively, the touchpad. I don't really need a camera, and I set the function keys a different color, and I also use an external mouse, so these aren't big issues at all.

Pros:
Doesn't feel nor look cheap, the outside
Has RGB keyboard and really customizable
Has camera, it's a low quality one though
Really loud and strong speakers, doesn't sound muzzled or anything (I was really surprised how well the speakers were)
3 USB ports, and other things
If you're planning to use mousepad, it's actually has a really good feeling and doesn't feel cheap
Doesn't have McCaffey already installed
Installed drivers when launched for first time
Simple to set up
Screen looks amazing
Sleek design
Cons:
Gigabyte control center is kind of iffy, it lags when I moved it for the first 5 mins, but after that it stopped.
There's a lot of power usage from the control center, so you can just task manager it
Personal:
I honestly hate the keyboard and it feels a little off since it has a number pad and I'm not use to it, but I think you'll get use to it
The T on the keyboard looks weird
The power button is on the middle
It doesn't really make any fingerprints
I have no wifi issues, and I was downloading steam games at 7 MB/s which is normal compared to my older laptop
USB ports are near the bottom, rather than the top

I bought this laptop to replace my Dell XPS 7590 OLED so I'll be comparing them in this review.
The Good:
1) You get the gorgeous 4k Samsung OLED display that I absolutely love.
2) It's at least $700 cheeper compared to similarly speced Dell XPS that has a cropped display and inferior video card (3050 Ti).
3) The cooling system is much beefier, it has more pipes and fans are larger.
The Bad:
1) The screen has no antireflection coating, looking at it is like looking in the mirror, you see yourself clearer than you see a picture it's displaying especially if you're using a dark theme.
It's also super wobbly.
2) It's approximately 200g heavier and a bit bulkier.
3) Main section of a keyboard is exactly the same size as a Dell keyboard but it's shifted to the right so when typing your left hand is hanging on the edge of the laptop and you right hand is in the middle of it, I find this very uncomfortable. It also feels stiff and cheep.
4) Laptop runs hot when idling, so watching youtube on your belly might not be a good idea.
5) Half of the bottom cover is perforated so it's extremely vulnerable to moisture and liquids.
6) Plastic trim around the laptop does not contribute to it's durability.
7) Power cable on the right side has a giant ferrite cylinder that constantly gets in a way.
8) Has no usb-c charging.
The Ugly:
1) Battery only lasts for 2 hours and 10 minutes in power savings mode when idling, I've tested this on Windows 10 and Ubuntu Linux.
2) Trackpad is small and the entire top left corner starting with a fingerprint reader is unusable. That's one of the worst designs I've ever seen.
3) Nose cam is completely not acceptable in 2021 when almost everyone is working remote and using zoom daily.
Conclusion:
This is a great gaming laptop for a very low price. But it is not creator friendly. It needs a complete redesign to compete with more premium brands.

Before I get into the pros/cons, I'll say right away that I absolutely recommend this laptop. This is partially due to my previous experience with other new laptops (looking at you ASUS) but also from tempered expectations having spent way too much time digging into reviews of this machine.
A few tips if you buy this:
- Make a restore point of the initial os in case anything happens (always a good idea with laptops)
- Don't mess with control center's driver updates as there are known issues with reverting drivers
- Don't expect this to run every brand new game at 4k 60 with max settings (it's not a desktop 3090)
- Optional: Manually set performance modes instead of using the AI option. AI options have drastic fan variances and I assume it tries not to use dedicated resources until it needs to and by that time runs a little hotter and needs to cool down like right now
- The best cooling solution I've found for this currently is just having it flat on a desk with the back facing out to an open area. After testing this with other cooling solutions, it is clear that there was considerable engineering put into the rubber feet and airflow to assume this is sitting flat on a desk. I'm continuing my search for the most optimal air flow settings for this and will update if I find something I'm satisfied with.
- Be smart and do your part to prevent potential burn in. Example: set a black screensaver to start every minute or so at idle, hide your taskbar, set background to black. These are a few small things that greatly extend both power consumption and prevent burn in.
PROs:
- AMAZING OLED SCREEN. Seriously. WOW.
- BRILLIANT Form Factor and design. Pure style.
- SO EASY to upgrade ram and add ssd. I'm rocking 32Gb ram with 1Tb of 3rd gen ssd in the secondary slot
- 1Rx8 16Gb Ram included!! This is what you want! (not 2Rx8) If you upgrade the ram, this doesn't matter, but if 16Gbs is enough for you, it's good! No need to swap.
- AMAZING IO. There are seriously ports for days
CONs:
- No MUX switch
- without good reason, I tend not to trust Gigabyte's control center and typically restart the laptop every time I need to run heavy software after having run on battery or lighter applications for hours.
Conclusion:
I love this laptop and if you recently realized you can't go back from OLED, here you go, your welcome. Pick this up on a sale and as long as you're cautious with drivers and Gigabyte specific functionality, I think (and hope) you love it as much as I do!

On sale for $1250, this laptop was such a great deal. The 4K OLED screen is amazing, as expected. The performance is great for my needs. It isn't overly flashy and avoids the "gamer" feel, which is a huge plus. I hope more laptop manufacturers make these laptops with very nice screens and overall great specs without also acting as a disco ball.
The camera angle is suboptimal unless you put the laptop itself at an angle, so this might be something to consider if you have many meetings. The number pad makes everything seem shifted to the left, but could be very useful if you use programs like blender. Despite these minor annoyances, this laptop has everything I would ever want or need in a laptop at a great price, so I am super satisfied. 10/10 would buy again if I had excess money to spend.
The GIGABYTE Control Center software isn't the best, but this is a criticism of the software - the actual laptop is great.

So far has been a great laptop with no issues. Its powerful and works perfectly, most other laptops with similar specs cost much more. My only complaint is that the preinstalled software to control the lighting and settings doesnt work very well.

Awesome value for money. I didn't get any of the issues mentioned in other reviews like the wi-fi drop. Screen is magnificent, but no anti-glare coting at all. My only complain is the battery life, drains too fast even while doing light work.

Overall great computer. I have had a few issues. One is backlit keyboard will not stay on. Another is the computer will start to blink on and off and I will lose my connected monitor. All I need to do is restart and it works fine. Also since I upgraded to Windows 11, I have been getting the blue screen of death, it will automatically restart and it starts working fine.
The 4K screen is very nice. I would recommend that if you have a second monitor to make sure it is a 4k monitor, some programs like adobe, do not like to switch between the two different settings if the monitors are not alike. But as I said at the beginning this is a great laptop.

Pretty good laptop, but it's not a Razer Laptop. This laptop is very simple, and might I add not as loud as a Razer when gaming but performance is mixed in different games. The software built into the laptop for controlling the fans and the computer's power options isn't the best, but it's also not terrible in my experience.
I've had this laptop for a few months now and with the right discount it is going to give you better performance than an ultra slim laptop.
The keyboard is fine, it's not too loud or clicky which I prefer. The backlighting of the keys is plenty bright and the settings can be adjusted between low medium high or off. I only use the white lighting and it's been great for me!
A good thing to mention is battery life is much better than a few others I've had in the past, especially if you're just watching videos or writing notes in class. It's lasted me over 7 hours so enough to get through school and work if needed.

I bought this laptop during the black friday sale and I have to say it was a great investment. I use it for music production, video production, and for gaming and it holds up well in these settings. There are only two downsides to this laptop, the first being how loud the fans can get at times, which I can thankfully tune out the longer I use the laptop. The other downside is the awkward placement of the webcam. I haven't had to use it much, but I much prefer to use an external webcam before using the built in one. Overall though, it is definitely worth the investment and I would recommend to anyone looking for a workhorse of a laptop.

I mean after all of the discounts I bought it for $998. Had a lot of fun with it, the screen is amazing. Good performance with enough cooling. Issue came up when i closed the lid with my ID inside, such a thin object cracked the screen. Dont put ANY objects there, very fragile

So far has been a great laptop. Only grip i have is the location of the power cable. it sandwiches the sd card reader between it and a usb cable which makes access to the card reader difficult. Wish it had USB ports in the back.

This laptop has served me well in the past 8 months I have owned it. The screen is beautiful.
However, the right-side fan is now failing and is making loud noises. I have researched this and it seems to be a common occurrence with the Aero line, so buyer beware...
