Great Monitor!

Got this for a gaming rig I had ordered from Cyberpower and was originally torn between getting this or a 4k monitor. They released a newer version of this monitor with a few extra ports and slightly larger display, and believe they will be releasing something similar with 4k output if they haven't already. As tempted as I was to wait for one of those or pick one of these up.
I have not regretted this monitor at all and absolutely love it. The resolution is great, it's very responsive, keeps up with more frames than I probably need and typically I don't have it past 30% brightness as it's not needed. The color pop even at 20-30% brightness typically, and even with a window open and light hitting it directly or coming in from behind the monitor, 50% usually more than covers it.
It has plenty of features, quick response times and performs above it's price range (and it's dropped since I bought it last I checked). I use PIP frequently for work and you can switch which display is the main/sub device as well as swap the audio output from main/sub device as well.
The USB C port works great for display and mouse/keyboard support for things like modern laptops or my Note 20 Ultra 5g once you get a USB C cable that can carry enough bandwidth for video and everything. Most everything you can do with the HDMI/Display Ports you can do with USB C port as well, including 170 HZ refresh at 1440p if that device can support that high.
The KVM can take a few seconds to switch between devices (usually about 5-10 seconds) and sometimes lags worse or doesn't pick up on devices if you have unplugged them and plugged them back in while the monitor/device is on. Simply turning device off/on again usually works, or turning the monitor off/on fixes it when powering the other devices doesn't work.
I have not had any issues with dead/stuck pixels, the base is very solid and barely any wiggle on it at all. Even with my game rig, speakers, work laptop and everything on a desk that can roll this monitor barely wiggles even as I roll the desk between rooms.
While my eyes may not be as sensitive as others' to picking up lag, ghosting, or blurring of text and images, I've not noticed an issue with much of anything on this monitor. I've not changed any color settings or contrast at all, simply turned it on and put it at max resolution/refresh and adjust the brightness as dictated by use/brightness of room. On my work laptop I ran through the Window's Cleartype and it seemed (to me) that the fonts/typing got blurrier afterwards. Not sure if this was just the bad laptop, bad settings in ClearType, or my eyes (possibly a combination of all?) but I haven't had issues on any other devices at all.
Many reviews online (here and other places) seem to point to quality control issues with these monitors, with cracked displays or dead/stuck pixels, etc. While I can't attest to all units I have not seen anything bad with this monitor and am more than pleased with it. I suspect that this is a bit of a case of people who have been happy with theirs or not had issues simply did not leave a review, but those with bad experiences justifiably warned other potential buyers. Taking what I read into consideration, I simply couldn't pass up a monitor with such great specs (and reviews from Hardware Unboxed and RTings), and simply picked up an extended warranty from Best Buy just in case.
All in all, this is an awesome monitor at a very good speed and resolution and would highly recommend. If you consider yourself a competitive gamer or extremely sensitive and want the extra frames or such, you might be better off elsewhere. For most people, or those being more honest with themselves, this monitor is amazing and will more than get the job done. While not officially supporting GSync, I've had no issue with NVIDIA control panel turning on GSync and staying on while gaming or anything else.

I was looking for specific settings at the 1440p resolution and this monitor did it for an amazing price of $330 ($30 off MSRP). 170hz refresh rate, 1 ms refresh rate advertised (this is case for most monitors) that is closer to 4 ms with very low error rate. Wider color gambut than Srgb. Had no issues or dead pixels, and Best Buy delivered it undamaged and on time. Checkout Hardware Unboxed’s YouTube channel for review and recommended settings. Absolutely love this, as I was originally looking at an ultrawide but these specs would have cost $1k in an ultrawide!

if you purchase this and don't like it, you are in the wrong price margin? I have used a handful of monitors and for the price this is BY FAR the best. Screen looks awesome, games are tremendously beautiful, the response time is great, and its height adjustable? KVM is a nice touch, stock cables good, not crappy ones I have to replace because I don't get the advertized refresh rate and response time. The black equalizer setting is a nice touch, with 2 clicks I can tone the screen up or down in brightness jumps of what seem like 10% if I had to guess, so when its dark bring it down and when I game I can crank it up. I 100% recommend this, if you don't like It feel free to buy something better at twice the price margin

If it didn't have defects it would be a great monitor, but the quality control on these is really bad. There was backlight bleed in multiple non-symmetrical spots along the bottom and upon closer inspection, the bottom bezel was not uniform. It had gaps in it like they did a very poor job of gluing it down and it was unevenly laid across the monitor.
The stand is excellent. Stable, very shallow, and barely takes up any desktop space.
The KVM feature was great for use with a Mac Mini and a PC together, with the Mac Mini using a single Thunderbolt 3 cable for the video and peripherals and the PC using USB-A and a DisplayPort cable together (HDMI also an option). Feature-wise I loved it, but the poor quality panel construction made it so I could not justify keeping it and exchanged it for an LG that has fewer features but looks much better.

Good 170hz 1440p monitor. Colors are good. Great for gaming with response time. No dead pixels. Bezels on the monitor are flat black and at the bottom there’s a slight blemish in the finish. Item shipped in a box that says 165hz so at first I thought I received the wrong item but that’s not the case. Once you’re in settings or in game you can adjust the hz of the monitor. I recommend this product for the price when I got it on sale for under $300.

Fantastic! Knocking 1 star because I'm coming from a 32" monitor. I have no dead pixels and no trouble with bgr pixel layout causing text fringe. I didn't even run windows clear type. Colors are amazing to me.
My computer is for gaming. Primarily fps games. COD, Cyberpunk, Destiny, they all look great. Gsync works just fine with my RTX 2060. Image is crisp and fluid, thank you ips panel! But I also work from home and connect my laptop to this monitor. The KVM on this thing is working flawlessly now that I have a thunderbolt 2 usb c cable (not required for KVM, but it's the only output my laptop has) bonus with usb c, full 170Hz refresh vs 60Hz with my hdmi adapter.
If I had one gripe about the monitor, it's the power indicator light. It's on steady white with an active input, but it blinks white on sleep mode. Not huge, but pretty noticable if the monitor is in your bedroom and your trying to go to sleep. I would prefer steady amber.
I have not tried my PS5 with it yet, but plan to. Apparently this monitor will accept a 4k signal and downscale to 1440p. This would allow up to the 120Hz the PS5 is capable of... Better performance than my GPU is capable of in some games.

Best purchase over Christmas I made. I can’t believe how much better the picture quality is over my old monitor. The game settings, such as presets for different type of games, timers (up and countdown), crosshairs, ability to turn on and off devices, etc were an added bonus.

This can be a excellent monitor if you manage to get one without issues especially given the price.
The one I received came with a dead pixel but it isn't one where I can notice during gaming or general usage. But I am not the only one.
Besides the dead pixel, it is a great monitor, similar monitors are above $400 - $500. KVM feature is awesome for me as I do most of my work on my laptop.

Pros- Price, menu, refresh rate
Cons- 2 dead pixels, reds are overbearing which makes the colors seem off, using a Nvidia card there was noticeable tearing

This is a excellent value, picked up on sale for $319.99 via price match, chose it for three use cases: 1) work on a dell latitude 7490, 2) personal use with MacBook Air M1 and 3) casual gaming with Xbox Series S.
Xbox Series S had no issues with 1440p/120hz, color is vibrant (Warzone & Halo). I did not need to update the firmware like other reviews mentioned to get 1440p/120hz (bought Feb 2022), but had to disable 4K on the Xbox as it was auto enabling it at times and reducing the refresh rate to 60hz.
I use the USB-C port (with a Apple TB3 cable) to switch between my dell laptop and MacBook Air M1. I do this in order to connect an Anker USB hub (ethernet, webcam, microphone, mouse and keyboard) to the monitor and the USB-C from the monitor to Dell or MacBook for the video display and peripherals mentioned. Dell runs 1440p/165hz and Macbook runs 1440p/170hz. Text is clear and crisp to my eye, the reviews complaining about the BGR pixel layout are exaggerated in my opinion.
Mine arrived with zero dead pixels. Like other reviews mentioned there is black light bleed but I struggle to understand why this will be an issue, I never have an all black screen working and have only noticed it on dark loading screens for the Xbox.
Only actual improvement on the next generation would be to have a stronger power delivery vs. the 10w.

The gaming monitor I recently purchased exceeded my expectations. Its crisp 1440p resolution and swift 144Hz refresh rate make every game a visual delight. The response time is impressively low, ensuring minimal motion blur and ghosting. The monitor's adaptive sync technology eliminated screen tearing, offering a buttery-smooth gaming experience. Its wide color gamut and HDR support further enhance graphics, bringing games to life with vibrant hues and deep contrast. The sleek design and customizable RGB lighting add a touch of style to my gaming setup. Overall, this monitor is a fantastic investment for gamers seeking top-notch performance and immersive visuals.

Great image, solid build quality. Needed to mess with the color settings out of the box to get things looking right, but no other alterations were needed. The KVM is a nice addition. Unfortunately, had to return it due to dead pixels, but was a big fan when I had it. Response time was great and no tearing was visible when using with a 2080ti. Ran Overwatch at 180hz and it was very smooth.

So if you have been looking at this monitor for awhile, you've read all the reviews, you know what the major complaints are.
1. Backlight bleed - yes this monitor did have some, but it wasn't very much in my opinion. I almost exclusively play with my lights on so it wasn't as noticeable. I had to turn off all the lights in my office to see where the bleed was. Not enough to make me want to return the monitor though.
2. BRG - yes this is noticeable, however I don't usually browse the internet on my main monitor so I'm not reading a lot of text. Even with cleartype or whatever on, it still was noticeable. Not enough to make me want to return the monitor though.
3. The power button - yes it is in a weird spot. My main monitor is on the left hand side of my desk so I can't put my monitors together to have a more cohesive view of my work space. I have gotten used to it in the 2 days I've been heavily using my computer. Not enough to make me want to return the monitor though.
4. Quality control - yes it is bad because I received this monitor with at least one dead pixel. I know this happens I wasn't majorly upset by this, but from what I have heard it cost around $80 to ship the monitor back to Gigabyte for an RMA which is pretty ridiculous. I have had to RMA a monitor in the past and I didn't have to pay shipping, they didn't even ask for the old monitor back actually! haha
All of this together is what is making me return this monitor. I read the reviews, I really wanted to be the one unicorn that got a great monitor with no issues. Individually they aren't a big deal but all combined is too much.
I have to say The monitor itself is beautiful, I'm no professional photographer or gamer but I really liked the colors, the size of the screen, the fake bezels aren't a bit deal. Overall without the dead pixel I would have kept this monitor.

All the features that this monitor comes with are excellent. Hands down very cool monitor. The KVM switch is great. The USB ports on the monitor work perfectly. The color gamut is nice as well. The OSD Sidekick is really nice as well once you set it up. My only gripe with this monitor is the BGR subpixel layout. When I look at one part of the screen and then look over at a farther part of the screen, some of the text gets blurry. I say this even after setting up cleartype correctly. A minor issue with the monitor is that it doesn't tilt left and right but for the most part that is okay. The reason I returned it was only because of the BGR supixel layout and a stuck pixel.

GREAT CONSOLE AND MACBOOK MONITOR

I’ve had this for a little under a month now. Great monitor for the price. Wanted something that I could use for my MacBook Air for a extended screen or just a larger screen when doing work. I also have my PS4 and PS5 hooked up to it. It has great resolution that looks great on both systems and the MacBook. Only complaint I had was the HDR. For games such as Star Wars battlefront 2 and Call of Duty, the monitor would automatically apply hdr and wash out the color making it look bland. Once I adjusted settings in the consoles themselves to not automatically switch them, it looked great! 2 HDMI ports are great for the two consoles which I have on a splitter and my hdmi to lighting cable for my MacBook. If you close your MacBook with the power plugged in, it goes full screen and better resolution to the monitor and has even better color. All in all, great monitor. Only if it had built in speakers and a side turn motion available rather than up and down and tilt.

Pretty good screen quality with slight backlight bleed only noticeable in darker scenes. The high refresh rate is a big plus in games. The HDR isn't very noticeable as the screen doesn't get bright enough however for the price of $300 it isn't a feature I expected to use. All in all I'd say it was defiantly worth the price compared to other options available.

This was the cheapest 1440p monitor capable of handling over 144Hz, and it can handle up to 170, which is amazing. It is very big, runs cleanly and looks very sleek. However, one very annoying aspect about this monitor is the fact that whenever I close my laptop while a game is running full-screen on this monitor, it refuses to boot back up properly and I have to wait an hour before it turns back on correctly again. I've learned to just close my games before shutting off my laptop, but I was a bit disappointed as this is specifically built as a gaming monitor. Other than that, the only gripe I have with this product is it's low peak brightness but given that I won't be bringing it outside it's not much of an issue.

Like many other reviews for this monitor, the backlight bleeding is excessive. Was hoping the one I just received with a manufacturer date of 10/22 would be better as this monitor has been out for quite a while now and you would think that would be fixed. Sadly no. Colors and brightness are great. SRGB mode is very nice. KVM is slick. Not much else out there at this price point that is better. Stupid panel lottery.

The M27Q is performing very well as a 170 Hz QHD IPS gaming monitor with FreeSync. I think it's a good value for the price of $279 I paid for during 2021 holiday. The image quality is fine once properly configured and better than you would probably expect at this price.
