Absolute Beast of a GPU

Overall this graphics card is amazing, the best of the best for high end gaming. I am able to run just about every game possible with max graphics and still get over 200fps while playing. Temps are super nice for this card, I barely see it go above 60°C. I don’t think there’s much more you can ask for as a gamer. The GPU itself is quite large. I upgraded from an RTX 2080 to this, and I was surprised by how tight of a fit the 4090 was in my case. If you have a mid tower case with an average amount of space inside (like me) then I strongly suggest buying an adapter from cablemod to connect the GPU to your PSU. The adapter that Nvidia gives you is bulky and will most likely get smushed against the side of your case. I bought a 90° angle 16-pin to quad 8-pin from cablemod, and now there are no cables being smushed against the side of my case. Not sure if bent cables still cause the GPU port to melt on the 4090, but I’m not going to risk $1800 to find out. I only have a 1000W PSU and was worried when I saw the 4090 can draw up to 600W of power, however, even with overclock settings I haven’t seen it go over 500W so I’m not concerned about that anymore. We all know the price for this is outrageous, but Nvidia is to blame for that, and Best Buy had the best price around for the 4090 by far so props to them.

Large power hungry beast of a GPU

Let me preface this by saying that all of these current gen GPU's cost too much! With that said this card does exactly what its advertised to do. I came back to NVidia because their performance and driver support over the years are the best in the business.
Size wise this card dwarfs my last gen XFX Speedster MERC 319 RX 6900 XT in both width and depth so be sure that your case and motherboard can handle such a large card. My build is in a Thermaltake Level 20 XT case on a MSI MEG Z790 ACE EATX motherboard so any card will fit. My mb is also mounted horizontally so no stress on the PCIE slot but if you mount it another way then you will have to consider using the card support bracket or placing it on a riser if your case supports one.
The power draw can really creep up in the 450w+ range during stress testing so if your system's power supply is not in the recommended range you shouldn't buy one. I run an EVGA Supernova G2 1300w with 6 individual PCIE power rails for the GPU and 4 of them are supplying the power to this card using the supplied 4 to 1 12vhpwr adapter.
The power connector is a fickle thing and you should be sure to plug it into the card while its outside the case. I thought I had it connected as it snapped when I initially seated it but I wiggled it a bit more while pushing down and it snapped again at which point the tiny little latch was over the notch fully which I verified by shining a flashlight onto it.
If you never watched the Gamer's Nexus video on the melting connectors maybe you should before buying any 4090 card so you can fully understand the importance of completely engaging the power connector prior to powering up the system. Even 3rd party cables from well known companies are melting on the 12vhpwr connector so be informed before you make a costly mistake.
I have included some of my Time Spy benchmarks so you can see a comparison between my old card and this one running on an Intel Z790 based system with Intel 13900K CPU.
The cooling fans on the unit will stop even in the performance mode unless you disable fan stop in the gigabyte utility interface which is not very intuitive. The LED controls are even less useful and the lights stop with the fans and do not function like normal argb lights. I just use them as indicators to whether or not the fans are turning. My case has 19 Antec Prism X fans so temps are good even while gaming and benching. This card runs cooler than my old one but I can hear the fans spool up from time to time and they are quite loud at full rpm.
I'm hoping that this setup will last me a couple of years which is why its seemingly overkill. Stock seems to be improving which is how I was able go purchase this card for 1 hour pickup at my local store. If you do buy one be sure the register your card immediately after purchase to get the 4 year warranty.

Very expensive but worth it. No coil whine, runs very cool, graphics are amazing. Buy once, cry once. Well worth the few extra hundred if you're already going with a current gen card. Imo, you either go with the 6950xt for a "budget" option or this if you want the absolute best. I really like the design. It's huge and bulky, but the rgb fans are pretty cool but hard to see if you mount the card horizontal.

This card is extraordinary! While my CPU gives some bottleneck to all its potential, it runs smoothly on all design applications and games. It does create some warmth from the wattage it uses at full load (around 365 W for me) so I’ve taken a panel off my cause for the computer to breathe. Strong card and pleased with how silent it is.

I have to be honest I barely knew what I was doing when putting this into my PC. It was my first build and I knew so little about it, I was a little worried when the center fan wasn't spinning at first. When it did spin, the unexpected sound of coil whine scared me. However, in the end putting it in my first PC was no mistake. My PC didn't explode and this 4090 runs beautifully. Definitely overkill, definitely more expensive than I should have went for, but runs very well and only takes one YouTube short to figure out for someone who's never touched a PC component before in their life until now. The first computer I built runs this very GPU with an i9 processor, and I don't regret my choice.

Waited a few months to truly write a review of this.. What an absolute beast of a card. I originally swapped into a smaller case with a weird form factor motherboard. The sag bracket was unusable but with a proper motherboard works perfectly fine now. Love that feature. Its not near as noticable as some cards sag brackets. The color scheming goes great with most builds. The performance is speak for itself levels of godly. I run a 1440p Oled on Ultra settings in every game I play. I've never noticed hitching tearing or lag. Currently Paired with a 13th gen Intel I've never had this level of performance and its well worth the premium. Runs shockingly cool but with such a large cooler mounted to it I understand how. Maybe water cooling isn't as necessary as it was in the past.

Games run at crazy high frame rates and it doesnt even break a sweat. Everything will be maxed out and on ultra and itll still be 100+ frames a second. But beware, this thing is HUGE. Itll take up your entire case and it requires a 16 pin connector or 4 8 pin pci-e cables

Went through 6 4090s ith reqlly bad coil whine. I have been a pc gamer for life, and the coil whine was the worst of all time on the MSI cards. ASUS TUF had whine as well. People like the metal used on the TUF, but it makes an already large card much heavier. I have never owned a Gigabyte product but this AIB impresses me; extremely minimal coil whine, holds a solid OC on gpu and ram, best in class VRM temperatures under load, and reasonably priced compared to competitors.

Absolute powerhouse! Additionally it stays cool under full load for several hours of gaming. Only issue would be the sheer size of the card. Other that that if you want the absolute best and are able to pay for it. This is definitely the card for you.

Got this open box for 1359.99+ tax. PERFECT CONDITION. Judging from the packaging, the 12vpin was still sealed in plastic. I think the original buyer checked to see if this BRICK fits in their case and ot didnt fit. I have a lian li 2 and this fit perfectly. The gpu itself is phenomenal with the quiet bios. I tested with a +170 oc and have a hard limit at 75% power. My 2nd profile is +170 oc at 60% w, pulls max 265w but I retain 95% of stock fps. INSANE. Card is absolutely quiet and doesnt break 62*c. My 5800x cpu is actually my bottleneck now in 4k lool.

Card is everything I hoped it would be. What more can you say? Most powerful GPU in the world right now, absolutely shreds every game you throw at it. DLSS plus Frame Genertation, only CON i can think of is the price but if you are in the market for one of these obviously the price isn't really gonna be your 1st concern.
And this particular card performs. Quiet, no coil whine, runs WAY cooler than the 30 series. I upgraded from a 3080 TI and that was running (when playing games) at typically 75~ degrees. The 4090 under the same loads I've not once seen it go above 60 degrees. And that's while watching Youtube with many tabs open and with the new Chrome Super Sampling enabled, which btw used to absolutely push my 3080 TI's temps through the roof, but not so with this baby.
Can't recommend enough, again, if you are in the market for one of these bad boys.

4090s are amazing, if you can get your hands on one this card is the first true 4k gpu out there. This card is massive so make sure it will fit in your case before you buy one, and i mean its massive so double check. This card also is one of the coolest running 4090s out there so its 100% worth buying vs the other models.

We all know these cards are pricey and over what they should be. That being said, the GPU is a powerhouse and I have not had a single problem with the unit. RGB is a little dim but that's not a big deal. The card stays exceptionally cool while 4k gaming. Basically any game I throw at it, constantly able to get any ultra or above settings without breaking a sweat. It rests about 360W power dray, 70 deg. C, and surprisingly runs at 2590MHz right out of the box. You get what you pay for, and sometimes you overpay for what you get, but dang if it doesn't put in the work.

If you like gaming like I do and you also like good quality gaming and you like good FPS, and you just wanna flex get the RTX 4090. I can run almost every game at 250 FPS plus at max settings with Ray tracing on the thing is nuts worth every dollar every penny and every pent. I would recommend pairing it with a good CPU power supply, and a good amount of ram. I also recommend getting some extra cooling for your case as this thing heats up my whole entire room. But other than that the thing is the best purchase ever made for my PC and the only GPU u will ever need ever I mean ever.

Absolutely hands down with out a doubt the best card I've ever owned. I was lucky and persistent enough to get it back in January. It was open box which made me nervous (I've had good and bad experiences with openbox) but it ended up being a perfect card that overclocks like crazy! I upgraded from an Evga Ftw3 Ultra 3080Ti and it was definitely worth the upgrade. I run every game now on ultra settings and ot never goes above 62 Celsius. I would highly recommend! Ohh also i reccomend an different power cord. The one that comes with these is bulky and hard to work with.

I waited before buying for numerous reasons. Besides cost & availability, the practical reasons were: bugs, issues, and drivers updates needed.
That said, as with all the Benchmarks found on YouTube, the card can handle anything you throw at it in regardss to todays games, performing at the top of all current GPU lists. It also helps make single platform streaming more efficient, paired up with s good CPU.
Cons: The size. Make sure you have a good sized case. I have a regular midsized case (Thermaltake Divider 300) with a 2 piece cover setup. Half steel half tempered glass & i keep the steel plate portion off for fear of bending connector pins. It’s all good, my thermals appreciate it.

It’s a great card but the price sucks. I actually took it back. Not because I didn’t like the card, more like if I was streaming or played for hours and hours and multiple games. I would’ve definitely kept it. But I only play really 3 games. So I thought it was a little overkill for me. Got an open box 4080 for under $1000 that would go perfect for my Ryzen 9 7950x 64 gigs of ram. Also just saved over $850. 4080 is good enough trust me.

I mean its a 4090. at the time of my purchase its the most powerful consumer grade GPU available, and Gigabyte seems to be a decent brand. (only Gigabyte product I have purchased so far) Only complaint is that the price is obviously at least a few hundred too much but that is on Nvidia for setting the standard at 1600.

Received the card and everything worked so much better than I could ever hope. It came with a extra stand to screw into the motherboard and feels extremely secure. I love playing Fallout in 4k at 140FPS!
