There's a massive Girl Genius in the family so finding out there was a game from the serious was fantastic. The game itself was definitely made on a small budget and missing the charm it deserves, but still happy.

While it was a decent attempt to callback game styles of the 90's like Banjo-Kazooie it lacks the polish of that game which is a little disappointing considering it's had more then twenty years to work with that style. The other issue that can be quickly annoying is the lack of a jump feature which can definitely cause frustration as you can clearly see an easy resolution if only you had that feature during certain platforming segments in the game. Another is the level design at times during puzzle solving situations where you will do a ton of backtracking that if the game has entertainment value is okay but sadly this game didn't have much of it in the levels to make it entertaining but more frustrating and annoying. Lastly is the story that seems a convoluted mess at the beginning though to be fair some of it does get resolved later on but it doesn't help when that's what you read about what's happening and are left to discern the rest of the chaotic situation yourself. While not a pricey game what I did pay for it made me feel like I was cheated but would I say it's a horrible game? not really but it's one that I'll not come back to anytime soon.
