This movie was made & released as a response to the 1998 American version of Godzilla, which the Japanese cleverly refer to as G.I.N.O. ( Godzilla In Name Only ). Let's face it, our ( American ) take looked like a giant iguana. It was nice to see the famed movie monster back to its original form.

I actually saw this one in the theater! I'm a huge Godzilla fan and this is one of the better ones in the series!!! The new design of the big guy is great, and they use a man in a suit, miniatures and add in cgi to great effect!! Lots of action and great fights between Godzilla and a monster from outer space!

Godzilla! Space aliens? Yup! Japanese overacting? Oh yeah! Godzilla blowing stuff up and destroying Tokyo for like the gazillioneth time? Man he really does not like this country! Poor Japan! Any G Fan is gonna eat this up, and why shouldn't they? It's pure escapism.

The Toho Godzilla reboot was a great move. This version of the King of Monsters is better than the prior version. While this Godzilla is still done "old school" (aka no CGI), it still retains what I as a fan still enjoy with these movies.

A UFO reveals itself as a massive alien monster with awesome destructive powers. I found this film is thoroughly entertaining, and not just for the breathtaking sequences of destruction. Godzilla has returned to being the bad guy as well.

This movie features the King of the Monsters at his best! Less a hero for the people and more of him being a true force of nature. Minimal CGI, more grounded SPFX. This is what makes this movie franchise so enjoyable.

This is a very nice reboot of the Godzilla franchise and the first if the Millennium series. The Blu-ray includes both the Japanese and American cuts. The transfer is excellent, and the sound is really good too.

Huge leap over the previous DVD picture quality. Soundtrack is great, and having both American and Japanese versions is a huge plus. Disc could benefit from a few more features, but overall a good buy. Recommended!

Great movie, great transfer and sound. Previous releases of this film did not include the popular Godzilla destroying Tokyo end credits but this version does. Lots of fun and a must have. Godzilla looks a amazing here!! Highly recommended!!

This movie is basically the inspiration for the newest Godzilla movie. As I was watching this one, I kept remembering scenes from the newest Godzilla movie. I'm glad I didn't spend the money for the new one.

Godzilla 2000 is a great choice for anyone needing a kaiju fix. A solid and worthy entry in the 67 year history of Godzilla films.

This movies sticks to the original focus of the Godzilla movies. It is fun and enjoyable to watch if you are a traditionalist who likes the small models being destroyed by a man in a rubber costume.

After the disappointing U.S.-made Godzilla (1998) movie, this was proof that only the Japanese film makers can produce great Godzilla movies. It was a very nice addition to my Godzilla library.

maybe not the best one in the series but its the worst either. Wish they came out with some more of the earlier ones in blu ray but you wont be disappointed in this one

I grew up watching Godzilla movies on Saturday morning. This was a fun movie to watch and reacquaint myself with a lot of the old Godzilla monsters.

No Matthew Broderick, no CG Jurassic park knockoffs, no problem.

Since watching the new Godzilla movie, we decided to get our son other Godzilla movies. This was the first one we found, and he seems to enjoy the movie.
