Have had trouble setting these guys up, must be technologically inclined! I’m sure if I could get it to work I’d love it and would prob recommend it to others. Unfortunately haven’t had the chance.

Much faster device than the 1st generation. Can actually use to view YouTube Tv!!!! Most Smart TVs don’t have the YouTube Tv. This is very important if you pay for that subscription! Hope the next generation device, comes without a power cord. Didn’t see the need for it! Guess it’s all part of the plan to keep us ( the consumer) to keep spending $$!

Not at all happy with google chromecast that i had purchased anhad delivered to my home

This small disc plugs into an unused HDMI port and a USB port on the back of your flat screen TV. Supposedly you can "cast" (stream on your TV ) from well over 1,000 apps on your smartphone. A distinctive Chromecast icon appears on your phone if you are using an app that you can cast to your TV. Frankly, I was only interested in one: DAZN (pronounced "duh zone." DAZN is the new source for boxing on the Internet. DAZN just signed Canelo Alvarez—the undisputed middleweight champion of the world to a $365 million contract for exclusive rights to eleven of Canelo's bouts over the next five years. DAZN isn't compatible with Roku. (I should add the word "yet," because it's in the interest of DAZN to be as widely available as possible. There is no subscription charge for the Google Cromecast. However, you have to pay for many of the streaming services that you play on it. Once you are connected (you first download the free Google Home app. Google sees the Chromecast as a component of your futuristic Google Home. I don't want to open my garage door with my phone; I just want to watch boxing. I had some trouble getting DAZN going initially. However, Google Chromecast has excellent phone support. The customer support guy guessed that I had many apps running in the background of my iPhone. I double-clicked on the button and swiped away the apps that I wasn't using, and then I could cast DAZN, Thye picture is beautiful, and I am delighted with my purchase. Incidentally, once you get the boxing match going, you can use your phone for other things. There is no need for a line-of-sight connection between the phone and the Google Chromecast.

Nothing compares to Google Chromecast. Nothing. I've owned/tried jailbroken and regular firesticks, Apple TV, Sony TV, smart apps on smart TVs or Blu Ray devices and just about anything that streams or casts to a TV - Nothing compares to Chromecast. This is my 4th one I bought for my 4th TV in the garage. And i still have and use the original non 4k Chromecast for years now that i use on my kitchen TV for recipe videos. Solid, fast, reliable, high quality, 4k, easy to use and best part of all - it is the least expensive of them all. Stop shuffling with remotes and talking to boxes - you use your smart phone everyday, just use that to watch TV and cast/stream anything! Get it!

So I bought this item back in 2021, but i didn't get the Best Buy app til just now June 19, 2023. This was a gift for my uncle (58) so he could cast videos and sports games he streams on his phone to his tv. He loves western and kung-fu movies. He love this device. He still uses it til this day. He’s not tech savvy so I had to set it up. But it was easy. I recommend this for anybody with older family members who like to use their phone to watch thing on it. Most can be cast to the tv.

works as advertised, easy to setup and use. put one out in my shop and its pretty much plug and play. however its only setup for me as a sort of screensaver besides the wireless network connection its not connected to any antenna or anything or i'd have more to say about it.

Been using Chromecast since they came out. Also used Firestick, Roku...and others. For compatibility it's tough to beat Roku, but Chromecast is quick and easy for almost anything you want to stream, especially if we're talking about streaming from an Android phone, or a Chrome browser (on Windows, Mac, Linux...anything). Personal photos and videos, Youtube, Hulu, Netflix, as a matter of fact, most media platforms or sites will detect a Chromecast and show a little "cast" icon on your device. This is model is not 4K, but the monitor intended for it isn't 4k either, so I chose this model to save a litte. It is of course HD, and the quality of the stream is great. Easty to set up.

The Chromecast is a very easy device to use for streaming content. Plug it into an HDMI port on your TV, switch the TV to that port, and follow the on screen instructions. I like it much better than the Fire devices. There are many streaming services that work with Chromecast, my favorite is Pluto TV. They have plenty of classic TV channels, and plenty of movie channels. It's free. I also have one of the original chromecast devices. It's still working fine, and my experience with it is a major reason why I decided to get this one.

Chromecast is a handy device, it's very useful especially when you're on the go as you can plug into any HDMI port on the tv, connect the power cord, and once you're connected to wifi, boom, your apps are available and you can control playback from your phone. This pairs very nicely with projectors with an HDMI input as you can turn any cheap HD projector into a smart one with Youtube, Hulu and other apps too! There is a 4K version of Chromecast available as well.
