Works like intended

Installation was straight forward and easy. My Nest Learning thermostat was showing low battery every other day. The wi-fi would also disconnect. I wound have to pull it off the wall and charge it. I installed the Nest Power connector and the low battery issues have completely stopped.

Installation is very easy but didn't work for me. After installing, there was zero change. Thermostat still did not receive enough power to charge itself. Wasted time and money... I understand this may work for some people's configurations, but not for all. The advertising and descriptions lead you to believe it will work pretty much without fail.

It was a bit of a pain trying to find 24v on my zone valve control but it's done and does the job! There other ways to get 24v power to the thermostat. Do your research if you need this and you only have a 2 wire heating system

This will solve it easily. My teenager followed the directions and installed it to gain some basic DIY experience.

I hooked it up as instructed and still had issues with the battery on a new Google nest thermostat. I called Google and they were unable to assist — they haven’t been trained on this product. Additionally, if you own a 3rd generation learning thermostat, there’s no functionality to check to see if the power connector is actually installed. So, today I just used the extra blue wire that was not connected to my furnace board and wired it as a c wire. There’s plenty of YouTube videos showing how this is done.

It didn't fix my issue of my nest thermostat not charging properly. I had to install a new thermostat wire for my nest thermostat to work.

This product is useless

In reality, it does absolutely nothing if you already have some power coming from the 2 wires. You still get very little power when your system is running. I had the same issue with this product when it comes to power.

Nest thermostats are designed to use very little power, and in many cases they can use your system’s heating and cooling wires to get enough consistent power. And though Nest thermostats would generally work without a common (C) wire, there are some systems that would require a C wire on the new Nest Thermostat like a heat only or cool only systems. But sometimes, you may need to connect a common wire (C wire) or power accessory, like the Nest Power Connector, to make your system compatible.
You may also need the power connector or a C wire in these cases:
- When you set up your thermostat, the Google Home app tells you that you need the Power Connector or a C wire.
- Your thermostat screen shows a power-related help code, such as E1, E297, N260 or N261.
- Your thermostat screen shows “Very low battery. Replace now and install stable power source.”
- Your thermostat battery keeps draining.
- Your thermostat keeps disconnecting from Wi-Fi.
- For a more extensive list of symptoms, go to How to tell if your Nest thermostat needs a C wire.
