Easy set up in app and ability to set different modes. No issues with using remotely via app which has come in handy to adjust settings/temp when gone for longer period of time. My only dislike is system turns on when WiFi is off/disconnected and cannot control from wall unit. Also wish there was a lock feature so my child can’t adjust wall unit. Got it for $1 with comed savings so we are happy for that price but not sure I would keep it if paying full retail.

Bought this for my dad and he absolutely loves it. He is able to control it from his phone which helps alot when he is in bed on the second floor and wakes up cold or hot and needs to adjust it. He is getting older, so this is truly helping him stay independent. This one will not work a whole home humidifier though so please be aware of what you have/need before you purchase it.
Easy setup and useful features like remote control

Love this thermostat! I can change or check the temperature from my phone at a different location and it shows my battery level and how much usage my home uses for heat or air.

Easy to adjust temp on app, learning curve on device, but easy once you figure it out! Great for someone who uses mobile technology regularly, may be harder for people who aren't as familiar with technology

I’ve had the nest for about two weeks now and so far everything is going well. I love the fact that I can check the temperature in the house when I’m at work and also lower it when I go to bed or when I’m not going to be home. I thought you would be able to set alerts for when the temperature goes above or below a predetermined setting but you are not.
My heat-only system didn’t have a c wire so I purchased an adapter online (NOT the nest power connector) to power the nest and it has been working great. I’m so satisfied I purchased another one for my second zone. As an added bonus I was able to get a rebate from my power company, too.
The install was fairly straightforward but not without its issues. It took a few tries for the nest to detect all of the wires which was a bit frustrating because the wires are supposed to be “locked in” by little tabs on the unit but not every wire was able to be “locked in” and still detected by the unit. If the adapter wire was ran behind the wall it might have made that easier but I am not too sure. Since the unit has been working ok that is a project for another day as I am not too bothered by the exposed wire to the outlet. It’s important to note that I am not an electrician or very “handy” when it comes to DIY projects but I am generally able to figure it out between the instructions and YouTube/Google.
The setup process for Google products has always been a headache for me and this was no different. Luckily, customer service was open late to assist me and get the device setup. The issue that I was having was the google home setup process kept failing at the very end saying “something went wrong.” I had the most recent version of the app and tried all the troubleshooting steps like factory reset of the nest, phone reset, with no success. Surprisingly, the customer service rep had me turn off cellular data on my cell phone and restart the setup process with just Wi-Fi on and that worked to complete the setup. Who knew!?!?
Overall I am very satisfied with the entire experience and would recommend the nest to anyone looking for a smart thermostat. The install process didn’t require a high level of skill to complete just a bit of finesse. The manner in which the app walks you through the entire process is easy to follow. Another important note is that this is my first smart thermostat so I have not had experience with the prior nest app/device. The google home app is intuitive and simple and makes using the nest a breeze. The nest device also shows the indoor humidity level and current outside temperature which is pretty neat.

Love our new thermostats. We can program to lower the temperature while on the road. Only thing, I would like to be able to see the current temperature all the time rather than having to move in front of the thermostat for the temperature to show. It’s probably an energy saving measure and maybe I will eventually get used to it! Purchased 5 thermostats and received $250 TOTAL rebate from our Electric Cooperative for purchasing energy saving thermostats!! GOOD VALUE!
Hi there, SandraaR. Thanks for the feedback you shared, and we’re glad you’re happy with the Nest Thermostat. We understand that having the display on all the time can be ideal for you. However, your thermostat will always go to sleep to conserve power, and the thermostat screen will turn off when it notices that there hasn't been any recent activity nearby.
We’d be happy to share this information with the right team for future improvements. We hope you're getting the most benefits out of the thermostat’s smart features. And if you ran into any concerns about the functionality and performance of the Nest Thermostat, please contact us anytime and we’ll gladly help: https://support.google.com/googlenest/gethelp

Very easy to install. Convenient. Wish it had a touch sensor as well. Nonetheless very easy to install if using the Google home app. Can be challenging to use manually without the smartphone

The product was easy to install being. I already had one and our other home. Unfortunately, there was not a backup plate to cover the thermostat that was taken off. The description on the box made it appear that there was a backup plate however we had to buy that item separately.

I love nest and this is a great product however I have 2 complaints.
PROS
1- Great Price
2 - Easily installation in the Google Home App.
CONS
1- It does not come with Nest screwdriver. If I did not have the one that came with my first nest I would be very frustrated.
2- I would prefer to have it in the Nest App as opposed to the Google Home App. The set up is only for Google Home for what I see so I can only control it via Google Home.

Easy install, sleek design and energy savings...what more do you need. Just ensure your system is compatible. Install was a breeze if you know how to use a screwdriver and follow directions.
Great features, but may not be compatible for ever

Very happy with the performance of the device and the interaction with my smart home ecosystem. Price is high, but with the rebates from my town and state, it isn't much more than a typical thermostat. The main downside for us was two issues:
1 - we don't have a common wire in the locations our thermostats are located and can't use the adapter sold separately, so we had to pay an electrician to run new wire. The only reason for a common wire is to power the more hungry Nest. Not sure why they couldn't just include a rechargable battery or even have one as an add-on.
2- We have radiant hydronic floor heating in one room and this Nest is not compatible with the Tekmar control system which regulates that room. While I realize these are different brands and compatibility is not required, it would be nice if they could work a software patch that would allow the Nest to interact. The patch could be sold for a reasonable price with the proceeds getting split between the manufacturers.
One other annoyance is we wish we could set each thermostat to respond to individuals not being home. Currently if everyone isn't home, it will go into ECO mode and stop heating/cooling according to the temperature range you set. However, my teenage daughter has her own thermostat and it would be great if that one thermostat would shutoff the system when she left for work or school.

Love the nest. Was easy to set up and works great! Gives me a piece of mind that when I not at our lake home the temp is holding strong. Also nice to be able to turn the heat up on our way to the lake. I have had zero issues with this unit

I love this thermostat! Looks very sleek and modern. Easy to navigate once I got used to the touch sensitivity. I've linked it to my Alexa & love the convenience of telling Alexa to adjust the temp or using the Google app when not at home.

I was glad that I hired an electrician to install this as an additional power adapter was necessary, but now that it is in, I find it far superior to our previous thermostat in ease of use, and therefore will likely save us money and keep us warm when we need it.

Its a pretty cool little device, really changes the look and feel of the room i installed it in. Wish i had done my research first before buying it. Even though it uses batteries it still needs an outside power source for the Wi-fi feature to work. A little annoying that a product that is advertised as a Wi-fi thermostat needs extra stuff for that feature. You will either need to connect a C wire to the unit or buy a Nest Power Connector. I do have the C wire connected to my Nest but still says theres not enough power for the Wifi to work. Though i am able to turn ON the thermostat via my phone app, BUT it will randomly disconnect from the Wi-fi and then i have to manually turn it OFF from the Nest device.
Hi, KnockKnock. We understand you're having trouble connecting your Nest Thermostat to Wi-Fi due to the missing C wire. This can be frustrating, but I'm here to assist you! In some cases, a C wire or Nest Power Connector is needed to provide consistent power to your thermostat. If you encounter an error message stating "The C wire isn't getting power," here are a couple things you can try: Turn off the power to your thermostat at the circuit breaker. Carefully check the C wire connection to ensure it is secure. Turn the power back on at the circuit breaker.
