I installed a Nest Learning Thermostat earlier this year in our new-to-us house. It had been functioning properly up until it started heating up in Florida. The thermostat is on the wall next to the garage, and there is unfortunately very little insulation on this wall. I decided to try the temperature sensor and mount it to the wall across from the thermostat in a more central part of the house. Setup was easy and took a total of about 5 minutes. After the temperature on the sensor stabilized, my A/C has been running less, and the temperature throughout the house is more stable. There is about a two-to-four-degree difference between the sensor itself and the Nest Thermostat. I can set a sensor schedule so that the system runs based on the sensor temperature during the day, and at night based on the Nest thermostat itself, and this works along with the temperature schedule I have set on the Nest Learning thermostat itself. Hopefully this little guy - along with having my A/C system serviced regularly (change your filters monthly and have an HVAC tech check your system annually!!) should help with my outrageous energy costs during the summer.

These little guys are so cool and go unnoticed if put up in the right spot but they're so smart and hard working. I just got my Nest Learning Thermostat and one of the goals was to better regulate the temperature throughout our 2 story townhome. It's one of those that it's hot in the bedroom, cold in the office, stale in the dining room, etc. I swear I noticed an instant difference within 2 to 3 hours of installing the thermostat and sensors. Not only that it made it all really easy to regulate and adjust in app via Nest, see the temps in Google Home and you can adjust the temp via Assistant (I'm sure you have a Nest Audio Speaker if you're purchasing this). I installed it pretty much right after the last billing cycle with Duke Energy and I'm hoping these tools can help with our energy costs. I suppose time will tell. However even if it stays the same, it's worth it for the control over the different zones. Plus you get a free NEST RENEW subscription which teaches you about going green, you earn leaves, I'm honestly not sure what all it does. I'm still learning the Thermostat abilities in app. And yes while I am the OFFICIAL-unofficial 'Google Guy' I say I Highly recommend the censors and the Learning Thermostat. (If for no other reason it's worth the extra $ for that hot stainless steel finish and gorgeous display!)

I rate this product as excellent, 5 stars, due to the face that this is the essential item to completing your Nest thermostat, and Smart Home. When we first purchased our Nest thermostat, we had trouble keeping the house a consistent temperature. If I had the heat set at 70, the upstairs would get to 70 and shut off based on the temp the Nest thermostat was reading at the thermostat. With some adjustments to our vents in the home by closing some off and opening others more, we now have it under control, but mostly thanks to the Nest Temp Sensor. Having the ability to determine which sensor is the primary sensor in the Nest application, makes this an absolute necessary purchase at its price point. We now are able to keep the basement and upstairs zero to one degree apart from one another. For anyone with a split level, two level, or multi-level home, this should be at the top of your shopping list when considering the Nest thermostat.

So I have google nest thermostat and then I got these to put around the house They will be very helpful if your house doesn’t heat or cold evenly In my case, the living room a kitchen heats much faster than the bedrooms in winter and my google nest thermostat is in the living room so when I set up the temp to 70 in winter the living room gets to 70f but the bedroom still at 65f which feels much colder However after I installed these, now when I turn on the heater or cold air, I can pick which temperature sensor I want the AC unit to look at So now I pick my office to be the main temp sensor and the heater or cold air will not turn off until that office temp sensor gets to the desired temperature I also can pick other temp sensors around the house, and you can just pick the google nest temperature sensor itself I think this a good product Also, you can monitor the temperature in the house even if the AC unit is not turned off

These sensors work great. We were always cold sitting in the living room, the thermostat on the wall says 74. I added this sensor on the table near us and now were toasty with the sensor set at 70. Great product great price! A must have with a Nest thermostat! Get one and be comfortable!!

My building recently installed Nest thermostats. I have 2 HVAC units in my apartment. The built in sensor in the thermostat reads the temp in the room and kicks the HVAC on to restore the desired temperature. But the adjacent rooms were always too chilly. Wholah! I added an additional sensor to each of those rooms, and in my NEST app set which times I wanted the sensor to read the preferred room, the one with the thermostat, or the one with the sensor only. Now my thermostats keep my spaces closer to my preferred temp. You can see what each sensor is reading in the app. I'm pleased. Since I don't need my 3rd sensor, I gave it to friends to whom I gave a NEST thermostat w/sensor as a wedding gift.

Got these sensors to help my thermostat better sense temps in other colder areas of the house to maintain set temperature. The living room where thermostat was placed would be comfortable but my bedroom always seemed colder. I can tell my google nest learning thermostat to read a specific room so it will maintain set temperature in that room. I placed one in downstairs bedroom, one in upstairs bedroom and one in basement. I can also monitor temps in basement so pipes don’t freeze if I’m away and lower set temp.

This thermastat makes it possible for me to use different rooms to control the temperature of my Nest thermastat.

Must get if you have a NEST Thermostat, I bought this Package for $99 and it Brought 3 sensors. I really like them with these sensors you can determine which room is colder or hotter and try to balance out the air by adjusting the air vents. These sensors are really easy to install and add to your NEST account via the App. I really recommend them.

This simple product transformed my a/c setup. It just does what it's supposed to do, quite simply and with no fuss. I was dealing with a problem where I was trying to get the a/c to optimize for my upstairs main bedroom, then can be quite a bit cooler than the upstairs landing, where my thermostat is located. this unit solved that problem be letting me set the temp based on the bedroom. sometimes a 5-7 degree difference between the location, now it's running nicely and efficiently. highly recommended if you're dealing with a similar situation.

I purchased these sensors to give me visibility of the temperature in different parts of my home. I didn’t expect much but one day I looked on my nest app and saw the temperature in my basement was colder than I like, I was able to select the sensor for the basement and determine what temperature I want and once I do that the furnace comes on to bring the temperature up to where I set it for without making the rest of the house extra hot.

These gizmos are cool. Remote temperature sensors that I have placed in areas of our three level home. When connected to the required Nest Smart Thermostat, I can set any one of these locations to be the home thermostat's target temp. My wife is in the office during most weekdays, so I target that as the area that we want to be most comfortable. During the hot summer nights we prioritize our bedroom to reach the preferred temperature while sleeping. Simple, easy to use and install

Does exactly as it is advertised to do - get an accurate temperature reading and have the ability to create “zones”. I’m giving this 3 stars due to the price and lack of customizable parameters when using (can’t set specific times for zone cooling, doesn’t average temperature between all sensors). There’s no motion / presence detection, unlike competing brand options at similar price points. Had issues during setup with pairing the device to my thermostat, but after taking a break and trying again the setup was instantaneous.

Awesome product for a multi room residence where the air temperature varies per room due to different sun exposure at different times of the day. This helps your smart thermostat & central air conditioning maintain a comfortable air temperature through out your house regardless of the time of day. Very useful for summers in South Florida!

Very useful addition to your NEST thermostat! Our thermostat started to show room temperature too high that it is in reality. Since thermostat was provided by land lord, I simple did not want to bother about replacement, at least not at summer time. So I decided to buy separate temperature sensor. It was easy to pair with NEST app and connect to thermostat. And now thermostat uses temperature from sensor instead of built-in.

Bought with the Nest Thermostat E. House layout has the thermostat in a room with a vaulted ceiling, making it difficult to reach desired temps in other rooms, specifically at night. This allows us to monitor and set schedule to obtain desired temps.

The perfect thermostat sensor to maintain the right temperature in the place you are in the house. It is preferable to use it when you go to sleep to maintain the exact temperature of the room and save electricity.

If you have a nest thermostat, these little guys are great. One of my kids rooms gets hotter in the summer and colder in the winter. It's nice to see what the temp is in their room in the app. You CAN chose that sensor to be used all the time or on a schedule but even if you don't, it's nice to be able to check the temp in that room any time.

I purchased a extra nest sensor and now I have nest thermostat and three sensors. I love having for locations in my house to be able to see the temp in a curtain room and able to set the thermostat to work off a sensor in a pacific room or floor off the house at different time of the day or night.

They're not expensive, and you can set them literally anywhere in the house. Use them to monitor the temperatures across different rooms, or to adjust the temperature tailored to your needs in the room you're currently in.
