I love this super lightweight digital center. I needed a downsized super PDA to accommodate my busy life that followed my retirement. It handles my email, web browsing, video calling and document handling in a package that easily fits in my Harley saddlebags. I haven't yet found anything it cant do that my x86 series Dell/Microsoft Snail paced laptop can do. Gonna get another for my wife.

I was looking for a new laptop for traveling. I needed something simple and easy to use. I’ve looked at the IPad, Microsoft Surface and the ChromeBook Pixel. The Best Buy staff was very helpful. I ended up selecting the Pixel. Easy to use and the touch screen is a plus. It comes with lots of apps installed. More can be downloaded from the Google Store. Perfect laptop for traveling

I debated the i5 and i7 models as I planned to purchase the Pixelbook for work and personal use. I went with the i5 128gb model. To me, the system flys with the base model i5. I don't think 16gb is necessary for Chrome OS to run well in virtually any use. I would reccomend the base model, particularly now that the price has dropped for a limited time. MS Office apps work great and I have everything I need with this system. Don't think you'll regret the purchase!

    Good replacement for MacBook Pro

I refused to get a windows PC to replace my MacBook Pro when the keyboard failed and felt this might be a good compromise. Since I don't really use software that is not web based, I find this machine to be excellent. The silicone pads where your wrists sit for typing are a very nice feature and the specs of the machine are equal to a macbook in my opinion. The things I miss from my macbook pro are imessage and the apple ecosystem (not all android apps are optimized for a laptop screen......but chrome does fill in the gaps pretty well). The screen bezels could also be smaller, though the touch screen overall is an upgrade. Perhaps the best thing about it is that the keyboard works. Net, net this computer is probably a touch below a working macbook pro, but it is far superior given the keyboard doesn't fail...in fact, when apple repaired my keyboard for free (under the recently announced recall), I chose to keep the Pixelbook and rid myself of the problem Apple. Overall this is a great machine and wouldn't hesitate to purchase another one.

The Pixelbook is a pricey Chromebook and it was difficult to justify the cost vs other Chomebooks. But once you use it you realize the quality of this device is nothing short of amazing. It is finely crafted, super sleek, crazy thin, and lightweight. The Chrome OS runs fast and smooth with the i5 processor and 8 gigs of ram. Google assistant on-board tops the package. This is a great laptop.

This Google chromebook is wonderful It is so fast and easy to use. However there is a problem when I try to type. The cursor jumps all over the place. I have seen where other people have the same problem. I hope I don't have to return it because other than that issue I really enjoy it. I'm hoping when I contact Google they will have a fix for it. I really wanted to give it 5 stars because it is a pleasure to use. Please fix it.

I am happy I tried the pixelbook. It is very light and very responsive. Since I am a writer, I pay special attention to the keyboard. The pixelbook's keyboard is very good, important because I'm a lousy typist. Also, after some false starts, I was able to use OFFICE 365. WORD installed perfectly. I had a bit more trouble with Outlook, but it's all good now.

The whole computer is on the Google platform, which makes it really user friendly. Compatible with all of the apps I need for work, and stores everything on Google Drive instead of the hard drive, making it super simple. Very lightweight computer. Sound quality on the speakers is not the best, but easily fixed with some good headphones.

I was initially a little reluctant to spend the money on this guy, but I'm glad I did. This is my fourth Chromebook iteration, and I love it. I never have to worry about my battery lasting all day while traveling, and can download my Netflix movies with the Netflix Android app. They keyboard works very well, and the back lit keys come in hand when you're on a late flight back home.

I bought this Google Pixelbook Chromebook, with Intel i5 8GB Memory ad 128GB Solid State Drive, refurbished for a great discount. I love the device's excellent design, solid built and great performance. I have been using this original Google Pixelbook since my purchase almost daily and happily. Too bad that it is discontinued.

The Pixelbook is my first experience with Chrome OS. Still amazed by the start-up speed, performance and battery life. Be prepared for a change in day to day operations if you are coming from a Windows 10-based system. New learning curve. Be patient. And, I purchased this unit through Open Box. Excellent condition at half the price.

I purchased this device to try and replace my windows work laptop. This has been a test and has gone well. ChromeOS is FAST on this thing! Battery life isn't as great as I had hoped. I am seeing about 6.5 hours at half brightness working in google sheets and email. The portability is fantastic and the Android apps are running great!

Pros: *Materials & Design - Impeccable, as you should expect for a Chromebook at this price point. Aluminum body has a very nice feel to it. Glass accent in the cover and the glass trackpad add a very elegant element to the design. *Weight - Has enough weight to feel solidly built, but not so heavy that you don’t want to carry it around *Speed - Almost instantly switch between apps. Boot time is almost non-existent *Multi-user support *Convertible design - Switch from laptop to tablet to cinema. There’s also a ‘tent’ mode, but I really don’t see much functional difference between that and cinema. *Silicone pads on keyboard deck - Much more comfortable than aluminum to rest your wrists on when typing on the (very good) keyboard. Also makes the Pixelbook less prone to slide around when using it in ‘cinema’ mode. *No fan - Extremely quiet, and yet it doesn’t burn the ___ out of your legs *Touchscreen Bezel - I’m sure this will be on the ‘hate it’ list for some users, but I like it. Makes it easier to hold/use when in tablet mode. When reading a book, for example, you can actually move around a bit without unintentionally changing pages *Keyboard - Nice feel with crisp feedback. Backlit when conditions warrant it. *Android App support - This one’s another hit/miss. I like that you can install Android apps, but many of the app developers haven’t optimized their apps to take advantage of the increased screen size. Still nice that I have the option to use them if I want. Cons: *Price - There’s no getting around the fact that you can spend a bundle here. Easily on par with a decent Windows laptop. *Speakers - Average at best. Although, what do you want for a device that’s a hair over 10mm thick? *Touchscreen Bezel - Had to add this to the con list also, as some people will definitely not like it. It’s thick. *No home/end/delete keys - There are key combinations you can use, but I much prefer dedicated keys. *Can't sort apps automatically, they're just tacked to the end of the list as you install/add them. You can manually drag them to different spots, but can't automatically sort alphabetically. Bottom line… This is an expensive, high-end Chromebook. If you’ve used Chromebooks in the past, and know what you’re getting in to, this is a beautifully crafted device that you’ll come to love - worth the price. This Pixelbook has definitely taken over my PC as my go-to device. If this is your first foray into the Chromebook world, you should look elsewhere. Dip your toes in with a much less expensive device, just to make sure you fully understand what you can/can’t do with a Chromebook. Considering the cost of the Pixelbook, there’s no way I could recommend it to a 1st time Chromebook user. Would I recommend to a friend? Depends on the friend... a friend that's familiar with ChromeOS - absolutely; a friend that's never used ChromeOS - I'd steer them elsewhere.

Ok so this thing is thin and light and easy to carry. Love the fact that it flips around into a tablet mode. The i5 processor provides more than enough horsepower for it to not lag or slow down over time as the Android OS is pretty light-weight. I can actually use this all day for work without a problem.

I thoroughly enjoy this Pixelbook. Even though I own a 2017 MBP, I find myself just using the Pixelbook. The keyboard is heads and shoulders above that of the MBP, and the screen is great. The device is super fast and the construction screams quality. For perhaps 95% of the stuff I do on my laptop, this is the best hands down. I could not be happier.

This is the best laptop I've ever used, and I've used a lot. It is very fast and has great battery life. It is so much nicer to use this compared to a windows laptop that spends 75% of its time installing updates and running anti-virus programs. This laptop is excellent for travel also because of the android app integration.

Love my new Chromebook. It is lightweight and easy to carry. I can use it like a laptop or as a tablet. It works well in a school setting where Google is the norm. The only downside is that my school does not have projectors and other technology that are connectable by WiFI; so I sill need my old laptop to utilize that older technology.
