An Outstanding Product for 3 level Homes.

This is truly an excellent solution if you have a multi-level dwelling and need to get both signal strength and speed delivered to every corner of your residence. I have a traditional 3 level home with a basement, 1st, and 2nd floors. For about 7 years, I was forced to have TWO cable modems to get every part of my home to have access to very high speed (50+MBPs). I used a 150 MBPs cable modem on the first floor that covered the 1st and 2nd floors. I used a separate 54 MBPs cable modem for the basement. The reason for this excessive cost was that we had 3 kids in college taking college classes at a public university near our home needing very high speed and reliable internet connectivity for their many assignments, projects, class videos, etc. My son also played XBox live. Additionally, I have Netflix, Roku, and Apple TV. All of the preceding TVs, computers, iMacs, iPhones, IPads, PCs were working with ZERO BUFFERING under my 2-Cable Modem setup. This summer my kids left home to pursue careers. So I wanted to get rid of the basement cable modem if possible. However, not having high speed access in the basement would mean relocating frequently used TVs and computers to the 1st or 2nd floor. Due to the layout of our house no signal strength extending device had really worked. So I was very skeptical when I saw this Google Home WiFi package with 3 pods. I had not done any research on this, but decided that I needed to take a leap of faith on the Google Brand and bought it. They work beautifully!!!! I have 130 MBPS speed everywhere in the house (using only the 150 MBPs cable modem on the 1st floor). Also Google has you download their Google Wifi App which is outstanding in managing the setup as well as TESTING THE INTERNET SPEED IN EVERY PART OF OUR HOME. The Google Wifi app is very user-friendly, simple to use and INVALUABLE. I returned the basement modem and saved myself $75 a month in cable Modem charges. ONE IMPORTANT NOTE: If you have an Internet Phone like Vonage, you will need another ROUTER like Cisco, Apple's Airport, Netgear, etc. the 3 Pods are identical having one Ethernet input and one output, besides the power jack input. I connected the cable modem to the Input of one Google Pod with the Google provided Ethernet cable. Then used my own Ethernet cable to connect the Output from the preceding Pod to the Input of my Apple Airport Router. I connected my Vonage device to the back of Airport which has 4 ports to connect. Everything is working same or better than before. I did not want to write a review till I had had time to check the reliability of the Google Wifi setup. After using it continuously for 3 weeks with over 10 connected devices, I have had no disruptions or deterioration in Wifi qualify. Hence I am pleased to write this review.

We moved from a single router with extender to the Google WiFi mesh system. So much better. It was easy to connect and start running. The app interface is the best. It displays internet speed between the modem and router, connectivity strength to the satellite units, and connectivity speeds to each device. We run 20ish devices simultaneously and they all receive the signal they need to function well.

We have a 3600 ft.² two-story house. I had in Netgear nighthawk router with an extender which was giving me a decent service until last night when the signal on the 2.4 channel dropped to very low speed. 5.0 was still giving good download speed but since over router set up is on the second floor on one side of the house and over TV and other entertainment stuff sits in the downstairs living room on the other side of the house, so 5.0 was undetected that far from the router. After tweaking the netgear for a couple hours in the morning, I gave up and started searching for the mesh Wi-Fi routers. I decided on google Wi-Fi as it is half the price of eero and has very good reviews. This system is very easy to setup about 20-30 minutes for all 3 routers. The only time-consuming stuff is adding all the smart devices to the system call mom all the iPads, mobile phones, Garage door opener, security cameras, music system, game system, nest thermostats, solar system and other IOT devices. The only thing I will encourage anyone to do is have some patience. Even the App also encourages “you” to be patient. If you follow the instructions in the Google Wifi app set up as a breeze. I hope this review helps you deciding which Wi-Fi mesh router system you are going to buy and help you set up the system. As you can see from my photographs the speed is increased to triple digits. I’m still not getting 200 Mbps which my connection is and I think my Modem is very old. I am consistently getting 110-135 Mbps all over the house and even in Garage and the backyard.

We have a Nighthawk router that has done a good job for a few years now, but unfortunately it just doesn't work well in the basement home theater. I bought two of these units yesterday, and I am amazed at the difference. Setup was dead simple on my phone. It took maybe 10 minutes to get both devices connected and running. We now have 100 down 10+ up on all floors of my home. The footprint of the units is very small and stylish and has a pleasing LED glow compared to the Nighthawk and its flashing lights. They sell these in individual units or a 3 pack for a discounted price. 3 would have been overkill in my home, but if you have a large home or a special need spot like a garage, go for it. As for people saying it's not customizable enough, that's not what this product is. You set up a single network, it chooses a 2.4 or 5ghz band based on the device, and you just forget it. This system is simple, works exceptionally well, and is worth every penny. Don't hesitate if your home Wi-Fi needs a boost.

Bought this single pack to see how the router worked and figured if it worked out well, I’d buy another to mesh. I replaced a Linksys ac1750 with this and the difference is night/day. Speeds and coverage are better with just 1, so I’ll be back to purchase another for our family room area downstairs. The app is easy to use and setup was a breeze. I can’t recommend enough over traditional routers and bulky equipment.

I purchased the three-pack and am happy with the results. When I run a speed test, I get pretty consistent speeds in all three zones. Setting up was a breeze. I only had my tablet when I set up my system; I couldn't use the QR code reader when setting up; however, I was able to activate/link the devices with individualized set of letters (printed next to the QR codes) for each individual unit to set it up.

Google wifi helped to solve my problem with lacking of wifi signal up on the second floor in my house. My fios router is downstairs so I was able to get a very poor signal up on the second floor. I purchased 3 google wifi as a set but installed only 2 of them so far. Right now wifi signal is so strong in entire 2400 sq f. house. Even in the basement or backyard patio is showing a full strength! Uploading and downloading through wifi seems to be faster now. You can name your new wifi network and create password. On top of that you can check how many devices is hooked up to the network prioritize each device. You can also check upload/download speed, use a control home and many other features. It was a good choice.

I got the Google Wi-fi Mesh system to extend my Wi-fi coverage across my 2500 square foot home and also to avail Wi-fi to me while out in my yard and outbuildings. The system is just as easy as unpacking the components and plugging them in. The easy to use Google Wi-fi app for iOS explains each step in detail. The first step is to connect the first Google Wi-fi puck directly to your router via ethernet cable and then to add each of the next 2 pucks up to 2 rooms away from the original. There is a simple graphical user interface on the app to assist you in the set up process. Once installed you can monitor the system from anywhere. The app has a "network check" mode which will give you an option to check three aspects of your system... • Internet speed to your home • Mesh connection quality between points • Wi-Fi connection quality to all devices throughout your home I rearranged my system several times to experiment with the quality to devices at different distances. Once my coverage was how I wanted it, I left it like it was and it has remained connected with great throughput ever since! Simple as that! For anyone who wants to increase the size of their Wi-Fi footprint with a simple yet elegant solution, this is the product to get!

Since this mesh-network product was lower priced than the other three major-brand competitors, i researched user comments for this and the other three. What I found out was most users were very happy with this choice, so I made the plunge. I can say, without a doubt, I have been extremely pleased with my decision. The installation was incredibly easy and my network has never performed better. I installed a three-pack to cover our 4,000 sq ft home and, finally, our printers don't drop off the network every other day, as they did before with a single router. We're very happy.

The Google WiFi app (required for setup from what I can tell) makes setting this thing up a breeze. No clunky IP address website UI to battle thru. Just a few screen taps and you’re up. Replaced a dual band Netgear router that claimed it could “this and that” I bought years ago. Well, it finally died (had to, thing would heat up so hot I can’t believe it never melted) and never could get the dual band setup to work well if I didn’t want to broadcast both IDs. Anyway, it never reached over 65mbps over the last two years running the basic “internet speed test”. Meanwhile this new Google router has been consistently ripping both downloads and uploads over 120mbps since it was plugged in on the same fiber optic service. Multiple devices running (wired: Roku; wireless: iphone, iPad, and laptop) doesn’t dent its strength either. Wasn’t crazy about buying a google device, but the experience so far has more than made up for any reservations. Also has nicer aesthetics than a normal router’s multitude of flashing light colors.

I had an old wifi router go out on me recently and researched the new Mesh technology systems that have come out. I ended up going with this system as I have Nest and Google products in my house already and this would work seamlessly with those. Overall this product has been fantastic! Setup was very easy (start with main then add satellites) and while the 3-pack may have been overkill for my 2000 sq ft ranch I know I have great coverage. Surprisingly I get wifi out in my hammock that is about 50-60 feet away from my home! In my time owning this I have never had an issue with signal drop outs and anytime my ISP has an issue my system is first to know. I can then reset my wifi from my phone and it picks up right away and I am back online Highly recommended for anyone wanting a solid Mesh wifi system, especially if you already have Nest or Google products in your home

My first reaction after checking the speed post set up. I couldn't believe myself I could get over 100 Mbps speed over WiFi. I had a Netgear wifi which probably was doing a terrible job of dealing with interference. I use to get speed of about 3-5 Mbps on 2.2Ghz & 15 Mbps on 5ghz. This Google WiFi literally blew me away. The speed I am getting now is 115 Mbps. I pay for 100 Mbps. I can't say how easy it was to set up the wifi. Thank you Google for such amazing product. Totally worth the money. This product deals with interference around your apartment. Specially if you live in apartment building there are many Wi-Fi's around which interfere the signal and reduce the speed you get drastically. Thanks to Google WiFi. It deals with everything to give me perfect speed.

Easy setup! I always get speeds higher than my allotted 100mbps. No dead zones (3 pack). I have a minimum of 20 devices active at all times, 30 on some occasions. The best feature is the ability to cut my kids Wi-Fi connectivity anytime I feel for the Google Wi-Fi phone app.

I have 1 gig fiber internet, the standard modem router had really bad reception . I figured I would try out the google mesh system and so far I’ve been very impressed. The setup was a breeze, just qr scan the pucks one at a time, the app does it all. Setting up my modem to bridge mode/pass through took a couple of minutes but well worth it. Now I have excellent coverage throughout my home and backyard. I would highly recommend it. Also each puck has an ethernet plug, so you can connect your smart tv directly, this helps with streaming.

Google Wifi setup like a dream and it was mostly simple to do. I saw mostly because AT&T internet is a little trick to setup any router behind, but if you set your AT&T modem into 'pseudo' bridge mode following instructions online, it will pay off! It took my 5 minutes to get past these steps. Google Wifi is incredibly easy to setup through the app!

This is a great router, purchase this to compliment my the original google router. It has great coverage and you make a mesh network. If you want to connect wired you will need a hub but the the have then as low a $20 for gigabit speed( I paired it with NETGEAR - 5-Port 10/100/1000 Mbps) and I suggest buy that speed because it will limit your connection if you get anything slower. All you do is use your Cell phone to set it up and forget but if you nee more advance settings it has port forwarding and reserve IP's. Buy it you don't have to have a degree in network to use this.

I have been using the Netgear Nighthawk C7000 for a little over a year and my internet is very unstable, more when using WiFi. Talked to a sales associate at my local Bestbuy (Mousa?, sorry if I got the name wrong, great guy, deserves a raise and a promotion!) and he recommended this after explaining my WiFi issues. After switching to Google WiFi, I'm averaging 225mbps download, 11mbps upload, and 9ms ping on WiFi. Much improved compared to 15-25mbps download, 2-4mbps upload, and 80-100ms ping just using the C7000. I completely turned off the WiFi radios on the C7000 and am just using it for the modem aspect, which is a great modem for the price (also purchased at Bestbuy).

    Solved all my Wifi troubles!

I was having a lot of trouble with Wifi in my condo (1250 sq ft), particularly those areas that were furthest from the Comcast router-wifi. I tried using a dual-band range extender placed in an intermediate area, but it would improve only slightly and even that was not consistent throughout the day. I suspect that may be due to wireless interference from neighboring units. Wifi speed was a dismal 0.5-1.25 Mbps in the weak areas, when not a dead zone! I waited patiently for the Google Wifi routers and ordered a 3-pack. I just did not want to take chances, since I have been told that older buildings like where I live in also have materials in the walls that are not conducive to good propagation of the signal. I plugged the primary Google wifi router into one of the ports of the Comcast router. Installation was a cinch with the accompanying Google Wifi app. It prompted me to set up a new Wifi network and provide a SSID. I have read that it is better to replace the existing wifi and use the same SSID, but since I was not convinced and ready to take the new routers back to the store, I used a new SSID and created a separate network. The app then prompted me to set up the other two router devices in appropriate locations. Which I did, and setup continued to be a breeze. I went on speedtest.net and sure enough, the absymal speed was now ranging between 20-25 Mbps in the weak areas. The first couple of days, I thought I noticed the speed fluctuating more widely, but that does not seem to happen any more... almost like Google Wifi learns to adapt to the environment. I gradually switched over all my wireless devices to the new Google Wifi network and I really appreciate how easy the app makes it. There are some cool features like throttling on selected devices or giving higher priority to some other devices. I can even opt to curtail the children's use of Wifi when the need arose. There are some less utilitarian yet nifty features like controlling the brightness of the light emanating from the middle of the wifi pucks. My Hue lights were never working properly before and now that I have plugged the bridge directly into one of the router near the lights, I am able to control the lights via the Hue app, Alexa (Amazon Echo), Google Assistant (Google Home) and IFTTT. So this product definitely paves the way for transitioning to a smarthome without dealing with network hiccups/issues. I have heard that there is a Zigbee radio in there that is not activated, so perhaps there will be some intriguing features enabled via future updates. Worth is subjective, but if wifi is really important to you in any corner of your home, I'd say it is hard to beat the value given its price and aesthetics, and the interesting app.
