I bought it for our family vacation. Video quality is not as good as my DSLR camera. However, it is low profile, and we could use it anywhere even in public. My only problem is I get hard time connecting it to GoPro phone app. I sometimes could not connect at all. Other than that, I really like the camera, and we are keeping it for next vacation.

I used the GoPro5 for my first ocean scuba dive and I could not have possibly been happier. Pictures and video were crystal clear. Looking through the shots and clips, makes me feel like I'm back underwater.

We bought this camera to use snorkeling in Iceland and we were both please with this purchase. The photos turned out beautifully (we also bought a filter).

I use the 1080p with 60fps option for recording paintball. Great quality and performance from this device. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for an action cam.

For the deal price, this is a fantastic cameras. I suspect the majority of the negative review issues are people simply not using proper MicroSD cards. Use a faster card, and this GoPro is solid. The camera offers plenty of video modes at this price. 4k30, obviously, is great. However, editing 4k in post is pretty tough unless you have a monster computer, so keep that in mind. Also, 30fps doesnt give you much room to slow things down in post. Therefore, I like 2.7k60 best and it is my default video mode on the Hero 5. Double the resolution of 1080p, which allows you some room to crop and pull out decent still shots. And with 60fps, you got some room to slow things down if you need to and still have nice, smooth looking footage. 1080p120 is also nice for shots where you know you will be slowing it down later. Video stabilization mode is basic, and does not work in every shooting mode. Its not super awesome, but helps. The other modes work just fine. The video time lapse function is fun and has plenty of options. Pictures are fine, etc. The touchscreen can be annoying at times. Its just too small and hard to use certain gestures at times. Its ok, I guess. People complain about the audio, and they are probably right. I dont use the camera audio for my productions, so its not a thing for me. The camera is rain and splashproof, however, I would not go snorkeling with it without the dive case. Battery life is short, but that is the fault of everyone that asked GoPro to include the touchscreen. Personally, I can do without the viewscreen like in the older models. But, you all wanted it so they delivered. Plan on 1 hour battery life, and that means you need to bring more batteries with you. I use Sandisk Extreme Plus memory cards, and have had zero issues. The REMO also totally works fine. I have also used the Wifi Smart Remote, and love that one too. The REMO voice commands dont always register, but, hey, what do you want. Its a free/cheap accessory. It mostly works, and thats all I expected out of it. Overall, I love this camera at this price. At $400 initial price, this was a ripoff. But at $250 with the REMO, its a bargain. Now if only the Hero 6 went on sale...

Here is the good and the bad things with GoPro: The Good things are 1- great video quality 2- support 4K video. 3- small size you can take it anywhere you like. 4- water resistant. Bad things are 1- low frame amount is effect bad for slow motion if you like to made slow motion videos. 2- very wide view and the only wide view option is available for 4K resolution. 3- very dark at night. 4- you cant do any zoom with it like hero 6. Overall it’s good action camera And it has bunch of options according to the cam size and you can shoot very nice adventure videos because of the cam it self and the great amount of accessories that are available at Best Buy.

Wife bought me this as a gift. Camera has a great picture and is easy to use. Not tried out the waterproof feature yet. Would recommend buying a backup battery as the battery life seems to not last but around two hours.

This is the best camera when it comes to getting action shots or just needing to use a camera to record video for a long period of time. This camera has superior quality to some of the larger DSLRs and fits in your hand. It can also go under water for great water shots. Amazing

I purchased a GoPro 5 Black and a few accessories as Christmas presents for my wife to use on her motorcycle. The Best Buy pricing was right and the timing couldn't have been better. The benefit of the GoPro camera is twofold. First and foremost having a digital record of many and varying planned adventures is tons of fun, but making memories of unexpected incidents and encounters can prove priceless. They are easily relocated and can be utilized in activities from a lazy hike through the woods to placing on my granddaughters helmet while she rides the zip line. Whether the action is slow and easy or filled with fast paced adrenaline pumping fun, these are must have action cameras for all sorts of activities. Don't leave home without it!

Awesome Camera, great features, solid construction, and in this case, good deal with the remote included. The bad? Well get ready to buy extra cover lenses, because housing is offered separate, and not like previous versions, and of course and as always, batteries dies sooooo fast that you gonna need aditional too and a multiple charger of course sold separately...

I couldn't have asked for more, it's easy to use, and it's water resistant. Very fun to play around with, and the quality is crisp. Highly recommend.

I am new to the Go Pro and I have a lot to learn on how best to use all the various adapters but I have to say 2 positives and 1 negative. 2 postives are the high quality videos and photos. Also, the compact size is nice. What is bad is the battery life. You MUST carry a 2nd one, maybe a 3rd extra battery if your out all day.

I've been using my cell phone and point and shoot camera for making videos of our properties. The clarity and quality from the Hero 5 is head and shoulders above that of my old sources. I'm in no way a tech geek and this was about as easy as it gets to use. I love the WiFi connectivity and cloud backup making it a breeze to upload content for editing. I highly recommend this little camera, especially since the price has dropped a hundred bucks!

The go pro is great for so many different reasons. Great videos, easy to use, great price. If you need an action camera, this is the one!
