I love this scooter. I’ve been using everyday since buying it and can’t get enough. Great range and speed for my first one. Charging takes a little bit but it’s worth it afterwards lol. I added lights on the bottom I got from Amazon, looks great at night now.

Im a 37 year old amputee and wanted an electric scooter to ride around while my daughter scooters. I have to say im impressed. Great build quality and easy to assemble. It rides pretty smoothly, the battery seems to last a long time, and its pretty fast. Can also use it as a regular kick scooter. Im 6'2" and weigh about 160 with my prosthetic on. Definitely recommend.

Bought this for my nephews. 9 and 12. They love everything about it bust mostly the speed. My husband and I like to take it for a spin when we’re with them. Not a lot to put together, but what there is, it’s very easy. Keep an eye on the charger, it gets super hot once it’s reached it’s full charge capacity.

My 8 year old loves this scooter. I am so happy we did not buy a smaller one. Trust me your kids are smart enough to ride a bigger scooter. My husband & I can even ride this. It holds 220. It cruises too holy moly. My son burns past all his buddies who parents got them the smaller kid type scooters. It is worth spending a little extra for a high quality scooter. I even let the kids park it inside in our living room. The scooter looks cool. Super easy to assemble.

We bought this scooter for my 9 year old son for Christmas and he loved it. It was a little tall for him but once he started riding he got used to it right away. It is a scooter that definitely has room to grow with him. He loves how fast it goes and that there is a cruise control. I love that there is a headlight if he wants to ride as it starts getting dark he is very visible to anyone on the road. if anyone is looking to buy their children a scooter, I would highly recommend this one.

I ordered this scooter for my 14 year old son to ride back from middle school each day. He wanted a way to get back home without having to wait a while for me to pick him up. We did some research and settled on this one. It is 300$ on Best Buy, which is a steal for a scooter of this quality. Most other scooters like this are around 500$.
It came on the day it said it would and my son excitedly opened it. It was easy to assemble, all you have to do is unscrew the hook and put the top console on. However, make sure to put the red brake line cover into both the brake handle and the red hook before you screw the hook back on. The instructions were not very clear on this part.
The scooter came almost fully charged and my son rode it around for a few minutes in the dark. The scooter has a top speed of 15.5 mph and a rear disc brake. This scooter feels well built and solid and I think It could take a couple crashes. It also has a good scooter-sized headlight and a bell. The console has a screen that displays battery life and speed. However the console is a little hard to see in bright sunlight. Also, the speedometer only goes to 15.5 and then stops.
My son has been using this scooter to come home every day for two weeks now. I have noticed no difference in the speed and quality so far. In the morning we fold the scooter with the simple folding mechanism and put it in the trunk of the car. When we arrive at his middle school, I drop him off and he locks it to the bike rack. When school ends he rides about 2.2 miles back to our house. This is great because it saves time and gas. He usually makes it back in around 20 minutes. We live in a mountainous area, and I am impressed with the hill climb ability of this scooter. It only drops to about 10 mph on steep hills. It does not come to a slow stop like some of the kid electric scooters I see around.
This scooter does not have suspension, but the 8.5” inch air filled tires soften the ride quality. If you have rough roads where you live, I would consider a scooter with suspension. We think it is fine. I have taken a couple tries on it, and the acceleration is quite good. I think it could beat a car to 15 mph from a stop. This scooter you have to kick to start. That means it must be going at least 2.5 mph for the accelerator to work. This is a great safety feature because it means you can’t accidentally hit the accelerator when stopped and fly off.
This scooter also has cruise control. It activates when you hold the accelerator in the same spot for 10 seconds. It makes a short beep to let you know when it activates. This is a great feature to save your thumb from fatigue on long rides. The cruise control disengages when you use the brake or tap the accelerator again.
Charging the scooter is easy. You just plug in the charger and plug in the scooter. When the red light turns green, the scooter is charged. It does take a while to charge, just check every once in a while.
The range on this scooter seems pretty good. It goes for a while without losing a bar. However, my son says that he has noticed that as the battery gets lower, the zippiness and power seem to decrease. So I would not recommend starting your ride with low battery.
Pros and Cons
Pros:
15.5 mph max speed
Strong acceleration
Simple and easy to use
Cruise control
Sturdy frame
Easy to ride and looks great!
Cons:
Dim display
No suspension
Overall, this is a great entry level scooter for anyone looking to get around town or use for a daily commute. Would definitely recommend!

Fun Ride

I’ve enjoyed feeling the wind in my hair again. This scooter is quite nice. From the moment you open the box and quickly put it together, you can sense that it’s a good quality scooter. Of course with every battery operated thing, you have to let it fully charge. But this one had a full battery out of the box. I still put it to charge for a while before operating. That was the toughest part…the wait, lol.
It has disc brakes, which was a new one for me. I thought that was a nice and welcomed feature. Now be super gentle with the brakes. They are quite responsive. It has a handbrake like the ones you find on a bicycle.
Operating it is fairly easy. You push yourself to catch some speed and push down on the throttle to control your speed. There’s just one part that I’ve struggled with and that’s the cruise control. I haven’t been able to set it to go the speed I would like. I may not be doing it right but it says hold down for 10 secs. I’ve tried so many ways and it could be user error but I haven’t figured it out. That’s ok, it’s still a pretty fun and smooth ride. I’ve been able to max out at 15.5 mph going up a slight incline.
It doesn’t look or feel inferior. It has a bright headlight if needed. The small digital screen gives you your speed in large enough numbers so you can clearly see. It’s not too heavy that it’s difficult to lift but it isn’t lightweight either. It folds away nicely for storage.

Most people don't think about how they get around. A lot of folk just stick to the conventional ways of getting around: walking, uber or taking the train or bus, while these are not bad ways to get around, it isn't my preferred method. I travel a lot to the city and find myself having to walk around a lot and that can be very time consuming. I was looking for a way to get around quickly and not have to lug around a heavy bike or take the train.
For some time I have been considering an electric scooter. I decided to stick with the Gotrax brand I trust them and have an e-bike made by them as well which is also pretty awesome for longer distances. I have the XR advance and it is meant for those who need to get around quickly in shorter distances which is perfect for those who live or work in the city.
So what is it like getting the Gotrax XR? Pretty simple to be frank and I like simplicity, the box it comes in is retty straight forward and it comes assembled for the most part. You attach the handle bars and adjust the brakes, charge the scooter and boom you are aready to go. I charged it for about 3 hours or so and I have been using it around town, and during the weekend when I go to work. It is pretty awesome.
It goes 15 and 1/2 mph max and the 12 mile range is accurate. I have only killed the battery once and that was during an endurance test to see how the battery would do.
So here is what you should know it has a charging port being that it is electric, charger is included, the led headlight works good and can be turned on by pressing the power button once while powered on and the same to turn the light off. the deck is comfortable for a 6ft tall guy with size 12 shoes like myself. It is rated to hold 220lbs I can't speak to that because I am nowhere near that weight.
The brakes work well and is on the left side, a nice little bell is included to alert others you are near. The wheels are big enough to handle rough terrain but it doesn't do well on cobblestone but to be fair I dislike cobblestone and my car has a similar issue.
Let's look at the PROS & CONS
Pros:
- Comfortable & Spacious deck
- Cruise control is a neat feature
- Easy to assemble & store
- Foldable (should fit in any trunk or back seat)
Cons:
- The latch to hold the scooter doesn't stay put sometimes
To elaborate on this, while folded, there is a latch that holds the bike while closed, and it sometimes comes undone while grabbing it. Perhaps I am doing something wrong, but besides this, that is my only complaint.
Overall, I find this to be highly useful, and it makes it much easier and more enjoyable to get around the city while I am working. I easily recommend this to anyone who is searching for an easier commute. For those who need a scooter with a larger battery capacity, Gotrax has that as well in another scooter or one of their e-bikes with much better range.

Lightweight & fun electric scooter!

As a parent and recreational scooterer, I've had my share of experiences with electric scooters, both for personal commuting and as a fun ride for the kids. The GoTrax XR Advance has particularly stood out for its mix of portability and performance, which is a delight, especially when comparing it to other models like the Segway ES4. Here's a deep dive into what makes the XR Advance a notable option.
The GoTrax XR Advance is impressively lightweight and portable, weighing just under 27 pounds. This makes it much easier to fold and carry along than my Segway ES4, which is notably heavier. The ease of folding and the lightweight nature of the XR Advance mean that I can easily stow it in the trunk of the car when we head out for a weekend trip or when the kids want to ride around the park.
The scooter offers a decent range, allowing for about 12 miles on a single charge. As someone who weighs around 150 pounds, I find this quite satisfactory, though heavier riders might experience slightly less range. Charging times are a bit on the slower side, requiring about 4-5 hours to fully charge from near empty. This requires some planning, especially if the scooter is used frequently.
The ride quality is somewhat stiff, which can be attributed to the lack of suspension. However, the 8.5-inch tires do a commendable job of smoothing out smaller bumps, providing a ride that's more comfortable than not. After logging about 100 miles on the XR Advance, it's holding up remarkably well. The tires, in particular, are still in great shape— a stark contrast to my experiences with the Segway ES4, whose pneumatic tires wore out quickly and were a hassle to replace.
The digital screen on the XR Advance is clear and easily readable even in bright sunlight, showing essential information like speed and battery life at a glance. The throttle is quite sensitive, which might take a bit of getting used to, but it responds well and makes the ride exciting, especially for the kids. With a max speed of about 15 mph, it strikes a good balance between thrill and safety for younger riders.
One of my ongoing concerns with electric scooters is the availability of replacement parts, particularly the tires. Given my challenging experience finding replacements for the Segway ES4, I am curious about how easy it will be to source tires for the XR Advance once the need arises. This is something potential buyers might want to consider, especially if they plan on using the scooter heavily.
The GoTrax XR Advance is a robust, user-friendly scooter that's not only perfect for short urban trips but also as a recreational vehicle for kids. It offers a blend of features that are hard to find at its price point, from its portability and ease of use to its solid performance. While the stiff ride and long charging times are minor drawbacks, they don't overshadow the overall positive experience. Whether you're a beginner or a seasoned scooter enthusiast, the XR Advance is a model that promises reliability and fun, all packaged in a sleek, durable design.
This scooter has quickly become a favorite for both me and my kids, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a versatile, recreational electric scooter that won't let you down.
