Classic found-footage horror film, they draw it out a bit too long on the back-end but otherwise a fine example of the genre, and a nice send-up of reality TV personalities besides.

This movie was recommended to me by a friend a few years back. It starts off as a cheesy Ghost Hunting type flick, but once the actual horror starts affecting the characters, it becomes SO GOOD! Highest of recommends!

Fun little horror film takes a little bit to get going when it takes off pure horror chaos

Grave Encounters takes a different attack at the handy-can style. Where Paranormal constantly builds suspense up until the final climax, Grave Encounters takes a while to start but hits us with a marvelously freaky end 40 min. The problem with going this route is that we have the characters there to watch and learn about for the first hour. Unfortunately if found the characters to be a mixed bag. Some of them I found unbearable, and some I loved(such as the hilarious "psychic" guy". I can easily say that I enjoyed it a lot, but I wish it built more suspense in the beginning. When the "action" starts happening, it is done phenomenally. The atmosphere and especially the sound are incredibly freaky. And it does have it's fair share of jump-scares also. Id definitely check this out if your looking for a believable handy-cam horror movie on close to par with some of the other movies out there. Such as REC and Paranormal 1 & 2. I'd recommend checking out "The Tunnel" also. 3 1/2 stars

I would recommend this movie to any horror fan. It is very interesting and plays like a real documentary, which gives another level of horror to the movie.
