Great shower head. Comes well packed on a small box. It comes with all you need to install it, no tools needed (I did need pliers, but that was to remover my old shower head, to install this one you need none).
It's very well built and it was an easy install. It took me longer to remove my old one (it had to use pliers since my old one was hard stuck in place), but once I removed my olde one, installing this one was easy. They include a basic quick start guide card, however you want to download and install their phone app in advance, as it will guide you through the install process step by step by animated videos. It was super easy to install, the mechanism they had to screw it onto your old head tube treads is completely manual, no need of any tools, very clever indeed.
Once installed it will pair with your phone and you will activate it using a code included on one of the cards (don't lose it!). The Bluetooth functions are more of monitoring (its not needed for operation of the head). With the app you can keep and eye of how many gallons of water you are using (water saver), your water temp etc. I love how the LED changes color to alert me I've been showering for long enough (I am one of those that spends a long time on the shower) so this has helped me shower more effectively for a shorter time, thus saving on water and heating costs.
The shower head itself has just two settings on how it spews water, one like any other like a constant stream and the other is more like a mist type, you just move a little lever on it to change modes. I wish it had more modes, that's the only con... I also love how you can take if off from the top top and use it on your hand to wash other areas of your body more comfortably. Highly recommend it if you are looking to upgrade your shower head!

Undoubtedly, showering is one of the most pleasant moments of the day, everyone has their own routine and doing it effectively is a daily task. It may not seem like it, but there are some adjustments we can make to our daily routine that can help us enjoy it even more. A change of shower head for example sounds interesting and even more so if it has a little bit of technology. This hai - Smart 1.8 GPM Handheld Showerhead can be an alternative with interesting features and no doubt because of its easy installation.
In the box comes the showerhead with a hose and bluetooth base, all nicely packaged and easy to access. The installation instructions come printed on paper but can also be found in the Hai app.
The installation is very easy, mainly only requires a tool to uninstall the previous shower (in case you can not do it by hand), from then on everything is done very simply, in fact the same parts of the shower, hose and base, are designed to be installed with your hands only (since there are plastic parts inside it is not recommended to use tools).
Once installed the app will indicate the steps to follow to register and synchronize the shower with the app. In the app you can obtain data regarding water usage in each shower, as well as the average temperature and we can set a limit of water consumption, when this limit is exceeded the indicator light of the bluetooth base will change color to the previously assigned color. This function seems important to me because it helps us to create more awareness and improve our habits regarding daily water consumption. The app has a tab called Rituals that shows very interesting tips and routines to improve our life quality, something simple but very useful.
Regarding the use of this device I can say that it is a pleasant experience, the showerhead is of a big enough size and the amount of water I consider is more than enough as well. You can switch from high-pressure stream to a steamy fine mist with its easy-to-adjust spray slider which is easy to use. You get the information about the shower immediately after you have finished it.
In conclusion, this hai - Smart 1.8 GPM Handheld Showerhead fulfills its purpose excellently, it is a device created to facilitate the care of water consumption and to avoid headaches for people with its easy installation, it has an app that offers important information and it is of good quality. It is a very good product at an almost fair price. If you want a good shower head which also has a bit of technology and is easy to install, this can certainly be a good alternative.

Game Changer in Bathing - Style & Comfort

First, Hai Showerhead comes in an assortment of colors and water pressure heads. Offering six distinct colors for the spray head and two pressure delivery systems supporting both 1.8 GPM low flow and 2.5 GPM high flow.
We have the low flow version we are definitely saving water, though I think I would have enjoyed the higher water delivery head.
The wand head face cover colors are cool, allowing for a wide choice to fit your taste, style and even mood.
One specific technology that Hai developed for the system that I find to be brilliant, is their innovative “Impeller” system which provides the energy/electricity for the electronics built into the showerhead. When I first that saw, Bluetooth is employed to communicate to an Android or Apple device to report water usage and water temps, I thought, OK now we are getting a bit geeky when we need Bluetooth to take a shower. Though in hindsight I love it. It’s great technology and so very innovative to use the power present in the flowing water to operate the system. No batteries to buy, nor need to be manufactured and end up in a landfill. Kudos.
The Engineering of the Showerhead is stunning. You see right away in the Hai Showerhead project that the designers went all out with developing a system that is a game changer. Beyond the looks the product is of high-quality development and build with all components from fittings to the shower wand are marvelous.
If you like style, creature comforts and conservation, you’ll love the Hai.

Let me start by saying: we love this showerhead. My husband and I have been looking at these for awhile (we'd seen the Instagram ads), but we weren't sure if the hype was real. We finally bought one for our new house, and I wish we had bought it even sooner. The water pressure is amazing even in our historic home. I love the strong pressure option, but my husband likes the mist and the tracking feature on the app. My toddler still mostly takes baths, but I can see this being super useful once he starts showering since we'll be able to tell him he needs t obe out by the time the LED light turns red!
I was intimidated by the installation since I am definitely NOT a plumber, but it only took us about 10 minutes to install and setup. Definitely recommend!

Who would have ever thought about having a smart shower head? I for sure didn't. But I have to say that the hai smart handheld shower head has been a great addition in our home.
To start, the showerhead comes in a variety of colors, which is great when you are trying to have matching colors. One of the biggest pluses is the fact that hai made built this into an actual handheld showerhead, and not a fixed head. Had it been a fixed head, I don't think I would've gone for it. So, kudos to hai for that one.
The installation of this showerhead was very straightforwards. If you have never installed a showerhead before, don't be afraid. Just make sure that you have the sealing tape for the threads. Unscrew your old showerhead and screw in the new one...and you're done.
As for the smart connection, it's really just like any other smart device in the market. Download the hai app, follow a few instructions, and you are ready for a "smart" shower. It really is pretty cool to be able to see water usage history, set water temperature alerts, and even how much time you spent in the shower. You'll be notified when the water is at your desired temperature by a light on the handle.
I would definitely recommend the hai smart handlehead shower to anyone.

THIS…. Is the Hai Smart shower head and it does a lot of things, something so good I couldn’t believe it! Not only is this shower head made very well and designed in the best effort to save water, but it also is packed with some smart features I haven’t seen before in a shower… and did I forget to mention that it takes ZERO batteries? I literally had that “oh poop” moment as I was opening the box because I forgot where we put the batteries as we just moved in (turns out they were still at the old house anyways!) and I could already hear my wife creeping in on me to ask what I forgot lol. Not only does it omit batteries, but it also connects via Bluetooth so it can adjust settings and send you valuable data on your water AND energy consumption. With all these smart features brimming out of the box, lets take a deeper look at the Hai Shower Head!
Now lets back up for a second before we get started because this is a shower head that is already $150+ …. So how does it recoup this? I was asking myself this same exact question several times! There are three main ways that it does this:
The first step is honestly the one that I use and love the most, it uses the LED light and Bluetooth notifications to tell you when your water is up to temp and allows you to adjust that temperature in the app. I am straight ADHD and will walk away to do something else while I wait on the water to heat up, so this reels me in with a ‘Bing’ on my phone to let me know my water is waiting.
The second and most interesting way is via the app using really good formatting to show you how much water you are using, and saving! It breaks it down into KwH for amount of energy used to heat the water and also tells you how long, how much water and just how hot you keep that water on average. There is really a nice benchmark provided in the app that allows you to try and lower your water usage… similar to what you will find on iPhone for screen usage!
The second method is honestly probably the best one for everyone, and it tells you when you have gone over a prescribed amount of water. Mine is set to 20 gallons, so after it goes over 20 gallons, the LED light changes colors to let you know that you have GONE OVER!! The best part is that this is all adjustable and changeable to meet you and your needs.
Now lets get down to the shower head - it is pretty good! If you are a person that prefers more coverage, they do offer a 2.5g model that makes the head much larger and covers a larger area. The shower offers a steaming mode, it is very interesting and feels really good after washing your face. They use it to advertise their Hai Infusions for ‘aromatherapeutic effects’, which I did not use, but am interested in the concept. I will say that this shower head is quite nice, and quite easy to install. It is very unique in that it has a well made app, and a seemingly growing offering in products from Hai using sustainable materials and products. The biggest thing here to note is that Hai allows you to save 30% water and touts $300 off your ‘bill’ which I assume is the culmination of water and power over a year? I think some transparency will be nice on seeing how this actually translates to the average user, but at the very least it lets you set goals and visibly attain them. As always, BestBuy has an excellent return policy and even better customer service, so you never have to worry about buying a product that you don’t like… so why not test it out?!

This was perfect timing for me. I hadn't used my master shower for over a year, since my kid graduated over 18 months ago and I have been using the one in the second bathroom since I needed to redo the spout on the one in the master bathroom. I had the new spout for a month or more, just never bothered getting around to cleaning up the copper pipe and getting it installed. Now I had a reason.
The Hai device comes well packaged, and is a hefty thing. The vinyl or whatever hose is flexible, and the base that screws into the pipe coming out of the wall for the shower is a very solid piece of metal. I like the collar with the tab for tightening this to the pipe - no need for a wrench or anything. This lets you get it very tight, very easily. And that flexible hose gives you great freedom of movement without having a real stiff piece of hose that requires more effort than it should to twist the showerhead around to the positions you want for washing and rinsing.
The installation took almost no time. I spent more time on the spout than on the showerhead. Fortunately, I had the pipe thread tape already out so I had it handy for this as well, as it did not come with any. I don't know if there's anything in the design here that particularly negates the need, so I used it anyway.
The app installed fine by scanning the QR code on the paper inside, and it only took a moment to create an account and log in. I had a bit more trouble getting the app to pair to the showerhead though. Maybe it simply hadn't had the shower running enough at that point, it had only been on for about 2 minutes. But by the second or third try to start the pairing process, it picked it up. Checked for updates, and walked me through the application use.
Let's start with the app - it seems pretty straightforward and intuitive. You can specify alert color for when you hit the settings you’ve specified, you can choose your gallon alert (defaults to 20). You can set the temp alert (defaults to 90F).
While showering, or afterwards, you can see the time spent showering, the water used, and the gallons saved depending on what you set your target to in the other screen. It also shows the average temp of the water, and kwh used, and kwh saved. I don't live in a restrictive area with water issues like California, so for me it's more about simply not wasting money with the local utilities. Since this has to run to get the inner turbines spinning to generate the power to get the Bluetooth and such going, I am assuming that the tracking of water used can't include that startup period. If it takes two minutes every time to get turned on, like it did for the initial discovery, that could be a good amount of water that isn't being recorded. I almost would have preferred something with a battery as well, so that even if I just had to hit a sensor on the showerhead to turn it on for syncing before I started up the water, I could do so to link it up and be recording water usage immediately.
The showerhead itself is very nicely crafted as well. It has a very solid feel to it, the handle is a brushed metal that is easy to hold in the shower even when wet.
I've had a habit of having the "fancy" showerheads that have all the various settings - and never USING them. I generally find the one stream that seems best able to rinse off soap and it never moves from there. So this showerhead is actually ideal for me. I don't need pulsing, massaging, etc. I just want a solid flow of water that does well in rinsing me off. This allows that, and then you can fine tune it from a solid stream to a more restricted water flow that actually produces mist and a very light water flow. This is absolutely PERFECT for use after you've gotten yourself all wet and start scrubbing things down. No need for the high water flow at that point. It is enough to keep you from getting cold like you would if you turned off the water flow completely (especially here in a Wisconsin winter) but not waste the water. It's pleasant. Slide the slide back to a higher pressure for rinsing, and you're set.
And the adjustment slider is one of the smoothest shower head adjustment sliders I've ever encountered on any showerhead. Absolutely flawless motion and control.
I like the fact that it comes in all the different colors. A few years ago, I had gone from a very deep red hue in the bathroom to a neutral white, so I got the Citron one just for a splash of something a little different in there.
Installs easy, app works and gives you the data they claim, and the shower head itself is actually probably one of the favorites I've ever used already, even only using it slightly so far after install. Since I have such a high tech, wired and online and voice controllable house where I don't even use light switches in any rooms anymore, and all my appliances can accept voice control, this shower unit seems to fit right in. Glad I grabbed one.

Who wouldn't want to have the shower ready to plop in at the right temperature and at the proper setting? Who doesn't want to save money on their water bill and at the same time help mother nature by not wasting? I wanted to do all that and more and Hai delivered (mostly) with their Smart Showerhead.
The first thing (and I will circle back to that later) you realize when you unbox this shower is the massive weight of the shower head. This inspires respect and makes it feel very well made (which it is) and luxurious. The installation is very straight forward and the box has everything you need inside to replace your existing showerhead with Hai's product. Once in place and the app installed, you have a good amount of options available to make your showering experience truly yours. But keep in mind that the showerhead and the base are HEAVY. If you have solid walls you should be fine, but if your shower arm is even a little loose, you might end up making it worse by attaching this showerhead to it. Just a fair warning as I had to silicone the base of the arm as it started to balk under the stress.
Now as for the result and the continued use, it's a wonderful product. You can tell that a lot of thought was put into the design. The spray slider will adjust from Niagara Falls to a trek through the rainforest. Or more flatly, from a steady heavy spray to a mist. I like to be able to check on water usage in the app, not that I'm a penny-pincher, but saving water is everybody's job. A very interesting aspect of this showerhead is the water powered Bluetooth. No batteries are required as the flow of water (yes, just like a watermill) provides the necessary power.
So, design and build, saving water, increasing your comfort when showering to a maybe lower water bill, it's what you will get from this smart showerhead by Hai. I absolutely recommend it and I hope that Hai may be working on a lighter version. Great and innovative product!

So far I’m really enjoying the hai Smart 1.8. Compared with so many other shower heads on the market, the build quality and attention to detail is exceptional. Fit & finish is beautiful. I love the slider for adjusting the water stream. Much nicer than the rotating head design most others use. And the hose is plenty long enough and flexible, even though I can’t really explain how it’s made. The hose is a kind of shining material that flexes great but just not like a typical hose. Trust me, it’s all good. Water pressure has been great. We don’t have the best pressure in the house but this head has worked better than previous heads we’ve tried. So, as a shower head it’s awesome. Now the “digital” aspects of it. The Bluetooth connection to an app on your phone can provide an alert when the water reaches a certain temperature. I’m sure that there are people who can benefit from this such as those who have any kind of sensitivity to temperature or those with poor water temperatures that need to let the shower run a bit before it gets warm enough. Also, you can track water usage. This could be very handy for example in a house with teenagers who like to spend all day in the shower :-) The app connects very well when in range of the shower. And I think it’s brilliant how the power to the shower head is provided by a small turbine built in to the head. No battery or electrical connection is needed. Not everyone will find a need for the digital aspects of this head, but the information it can provide is interesting. But even just as a shower head without the digital connection, it’s one of the best I’ve used and very well made.

This is a very interesting concept if you need to know every little detail about your showering habits. I will leave it up to you to decide if you need all the information or not.
Out of the box you can tell right away that this is a well-built, quality product. It has good weight to it; the design is very sleek and modern looking. There are a variety of different color options to match any décor.
Installing it is a breeze. If you have ever installed a regular shower head, this one is not really much different. Remove your old head, clean off the threads, put some plumbers tape around the threads, and screw on the new one. This one even has a cool feature where there is like a built-in wrench that is part of the design so you wont even need a wrench to tighten it. Then you just connect one end of the hose to the shower head and the other end to the base and you are ready to go!
I found the water flow to be great even though it’s designed as a low flow shower head. There is a little slider on the want itself to change the different spray patterns. The functionality was perfect, I didn’t have any leaks or anything like that and it operated perfectly. The only problem I ran into was we had one of those racks that hung over the water nizzle to store shampoo bottles and stuff and you won’t be able to use one of those with this shower head.
Now I will get into the smart features. You can download the companion app to get tons of information about your showering. I was able to download the app and get connected in a matter of minutes. Its very easy to do and the app guides you through the process. There are no batteries to charge or anything like that in the shower head so you never have to worry about replacing or charging batteries. From what I guess it uses the water flow to generate power similar to a water wheel. So, it does take a little time for the water to generate power when you first turn the water on, so just know there will be a little delay.
Once connected to the app you can see things like the duration of your shower, the temperature your water was at. It also shows the amount of water you saved as well as the energy saved. Although im not sure exactly how the water saved and energy saved calculations are calculated.
There are also other articles in the app that you can read in the Rituals section about different showering habits and thins as well if you desire.
Overall, it’s a cool device. As just a shower head I love it and it functions perfectly. All the other stuff, I think it would be very useful with a lot of people in the house to monitor if someone is taking really long showers and things like that. But if you are single or maybe only a couple people in your household it might not be as useful.

First impressions is that this thing is solid. I feel like I could run over it with a car and still shower with it. The tool-less installation is a bonus, although I still needed the tool to remove my old shower head.
My first showering experience I felt the pressure was a little too high and too focused. I like a wide coverage - my old head is about 8" wide and puts out a lot of water. After fiddling with the slider I found the balance with the mist and spray that gives decent pressure with most of the coverage I prefer. It's not as blankety as my old one, but I'm not tossing as much water down the drain for nothing. The downside is that I actually have to take the head off the mount to rinse off soap instead of letting the dribble from the higher GPM head take care of it. Kinda hard to decide if I like the drenching the wide head does or the more efficient thick mist of the Hai. I'll give it another month to decide which I prefer. I think I would have preferred the 2.5 GPM model to give me the option to push more water when desired. I may have to dig in and see if I can pull out the restrictor tonight and see if that puts in on par with the old head for full soak when I need it.
The Hai Smart Showerhead is a gives a wonderful showering experience, but I don't see the need for the "smart" part of the package. While the app can collect data, it doesn't really do anything smart other than present you with data. To be smart it should actual do something, otherwise it's just a dumb shower that displays info. So the app and "smarts" offer nothing to the table for me. Since it's 1.8 GPM, it's easy enough to gauge my own water usage.

The product just never jived with me. As soon as I opened it up and felt the shower hose, a thick rigid-ish and rather short hose, I had bad feelings. Our current hose is metallic and really flexible, it doesn't hold a shape of its own like the one in the box does. So, not a good start.
The shower head itself looked really well built - solid and with the perfect finish. The installation is easy enough, but this is where more problems started. The shower head's heft though reassuring is also an issue because the hook where it fits is not "centered" to where you mount it, its off on to the right, and the weight causes the mount to keep turning slowly... over time. This makes the mount lose, or at least did for me.
Alright lets ignore all of this, and come to the "smart" features. The shower head connects to your mobile app via bluetooth and can share metrics of your shower use - gallons consumed, time spent, etc. The feature I was interested in - set a temperature and the light automatically tells you when the water has reached that temp. It sounded great at first, but then quickly turned into just a gimmick. What I would have really loved to know is a "light" that told me that the water was above a certain temperature as well, so I don't burn myself. You might think, that's a 1st world problem, but isnt that the whole premise of this product?
The shower in itself has a decent water flow and I really loved the mist setting - it really feels you are outside in drizzling rain.
However, due to the shortish hose that for us just doesn't reach that far, and the constant tightening it required, I gave up and reinstalled my old shower head. Which has no such issues, even though installed by the same person - me

I’ve been looking for a shower head to replace my apartment standard issue one for quite a while now and it wasn’t until now that I found something both functional and unique. Right out of the box the Hai is super easy to use install and doesn’t require much in the way of tools. There’s a video right in the app that will walk you through each step if you’re nervous about plumbing stuff like I am. Once installed, you turn on the shower and go through the Bluetooth pairing process. You might be asking yourself how the Hai gets power since there’s no plug or batteries. It’s magic, i tell you! There is a mini turbine that converts the force of your water flow into useful energy. The product is very eco focused, and will help you work toward conserving water in the shower. Part of this comes from telling you with a push notification when the water is hot enough for you, and the rest comes from the data insights you get after each shower. The handheld shower head has a simple slider to change the spray from more of a mist to an intense burst, and the hose is plenty long though that I can use it to help when cleaning out my tub. All in all I would say if you’re eco conscious and want a great shower head with intelligent insights, this is the one for you!

HAI - Smart 1.8 GPM Handheld Showered is nice
Hardware - The hand unit feels very much quality. However the hose that attaches the hand unit to the shower pipe, feels a bit lack luster. The hose is a rubberized type hose which feels like it has little reinforcement or durable. I believe I can use a better quality hose if it doesn't last.
Water mechanism - the water mechanism is very unique. Water has ability to work like a typical shower or you can slide the lever and choose to add some air with the water which makes for a really unique experience. I really enjoy the showers that this unit provides. I like that air water mixture because it feels more soothing.
App - The app is easy to use, and the shower head transmits the data to my phone inside the app. I can see how long I take a shower, how much water I used and how much water was saved. The app was easy to download and register thanks to the QR code.
Although the hose feels a little bit on the cheap side, I would still highly recommend this shower head for the information it provides and for the sensation it gives all over my body with that air mixture, it is just a gentle shower yet has the umph to make me feel like I am getting a very soothing yet cleansing shower.

Does What It Claims

The shower head is decent but not the greatest solution overall. As far as the features go, it does everything it claims and does them very well.
Pros:
The app was easy to install and connected right away to the shower head over Bluetooth, so everything went smoothly there.
As soon as you turn on the shower, it powers up and almost immediately connects to your phone with very little delay.
At the end of your shower, the app shows you the temperature of your shower, the amount of water used, the time in your shower, and energy used (not sure how it determines energy). I was surprised that my shower wasn’t hotter and longer on average, so this was interesting information.
You get an email at the end of the year showing how much water was saved, average temperature, and average length for everyone using the shower head. Interesting to see this compared to your use.
There is an LED on it that lights up when the water has reached the set temperature in the app settings. I found this useful although you could just feel the water. The LED also changes color when the set shower time has expired to indicate to you to finish up. I never got to see this as my showers were always shorter than the default time. I could have just changed the time in the app settings to make it shorter than the default time.
Cons:
There are two settings for the water output. There is a needle setting and a mist setting. I found that the needle setting was uncomfortable. It also hit your skin in spots, so it made it a pain to cover everything. The mist was better and felt good and relaxing but had very little water so it would make it hard to wash for example.
It would be nice to have some more water pressure, but I suppose the reason for getting this would be to save water.
There really needs to be more than just two water settings like in other shower heads as the ones they give you (needle and mist) are not that great, and you are limited to them.
Overall, the shower head is okay. I wish there were more water settings and more pressure. Also, not everything in the house needs to be “smart” as the trend is going. I would guess after using the app for a few times, it would eventually just be ignored and would turn this into a regular shower head.
